Marvel Level Kit and Costume Packs fighting their way to your PS3 starting July 7th

Archive: 569 posts

Strange, the American site (http://www.littlebigplanet.com/en-us/game_guide/ps3/downloadable_content/marvel_level_kit/) says on the 7th

That says 7/6/2010, which means July 6th. It goes Month/Day/Year over here...

*ashamed*

Sorry, I'm not used to those American dates.

I never actually understood the logic for the American date. Doesn't it make more sense to go from smallest time-period to the largest or the other way around, instead of just throwing it in a random way2010-07-06 23:44:00

I'm American and I never really write dates like that.
Also, it's about 6:50 in Ohio, so hopefully they're coming out soon.

july 6 2010, - i use to do the smallest unit to the biggest as well. i still catch myself writing the day month then year, it's a pain writing cheques, people look at you funny and say there is no 22 month. lol

Yea, it's just now out for me too. (Though thanks fodawim for that nifty direct link!)

And I checked the costumes so far and everything part-wise is as you would have expected it do be, in other words, often not like the costume contents list indicated in the online catalog. (Thing for example has separate pieces for everything...)

I had the level kit in my cart until I read how many stickers there are...I really can't take any more bloody stickers. Me hates the 2d stickers...and I hate that my OCD compels me to remove the "new" halo from every one....gah Mm is trying to bury me under useless stickers....argh!

Let me know if the levels are extra fun...I'll need some motivation to suck it up and take another huge sticker hit.

Mm did a fantastic job with these levels. xD Wow, they really put a lot of effort into everything within the levels. I personally thought the third chapter was the best. The only possible flaw I found was in the final level, you can sometimes get spawned killed by certain things.2010-07-07 03:12:00

Pretty decent level kit. I'll admit I was expecting more, but you dont always get what you want. This is VERY good for super hero levels. In fact, Ive just started my own right now!

My favourite part was pulling all those [SPOILER] out of that [SPOILER] in the last level...lol genius.

Honestly i didn't like the first level, not so much the visuals but the obstacles, they were just repainted versions of old story obstacles :/ I was really surprised by the level 2, a lot of the things they did in there were not what ide expect from especially after level 1, but they pulled it off very very well

A lot of useless stickers btw, only 1 or 2 good objects you may use but they give you these 3 ugly heads >_<, totally worth it though because there are a good amount of really cool "energy" based stickers (fire balls explosions energy fields shocks lasers and lots of glowy stuff )

I just bought a PSN card a day or two ago, got ico incredibles (kit) and verabee, this and just the iron man suit...time to go back and get another >

EDIT: i got 3 songs idk if theres more, there all kind similar but for different situations, pretty good. Could've done without one.

You don't have to do the 2x or 4x challenges for the music. The music is either laying around in bubbles that are easy to get or a level finish prize.

On the other hand, these levels are great. They're very fun, witty, and unique. I still have the last one to play though!

EDIT: I don't think they will, talbot

I feel very sad for anyone who doesn't really enjoy these levels. Point blank they are very unique and very nicely designed. Easy to beat, but very difficult to achieve a passably good score... All the goodies on top just make it a great playing experience-- I could not have been more pleasantly surprised... these are my favorite levels since the story mode... and reminded me why I luved playing the game in the first place. @Rock-to-the-Sauron: ;]

Well, I'm assuming there is some sort of boss in the final level (which I have yet to play)... But if I'm thinking straight there are super-villians all around the levels which pose some challenge. Not quite bosses, but they definitely aren't just setpieces either.

They definitely are good levels though!

Decent gameplay, but horrible graphics.
Simply, comic stylization doesn't look good on LBP.

I'm really happy with this pack. I love it's visual style, LBP's story mode was mostly all about the materials but now MM have discovered all these textures. I know some people don't like the visuals, but I love them. The gameplay is amazing.

Very smart ideas based on the Marvel world like Thor bashing Venom with his hammer causing a kind of earthquake on a building every few seconds, Magneto taking objects away and putting them back, Doc Ock's tentacles used as a ladder, Galactus bringing a building down with you in it, the list is really long...

The 2nd level is really fun. Not the best of gameplay, just that it had the most marvel guys in it. And sprinting away through the highway.

I was a little disappointed with the boss. It is a good concept but I think I would have been more content with sackboy fighting all the villains. Eh, Goblin and Magneto show up to save me from fan boy hunger so I'm ok.

That's how you sell stuff, my friend.

These levels are AWESOME! These are definitely my favourite of all the levels they've ever made, I wasn't expecting much seeing as they're working on LBP2, but oh my god... AMAZING!

EDIT: Did anyone notice how for the first time ever they used sounds from another level kit, I heard an MGS sound and a monster kit sound.

Yes it also said 'sound effects' but I don't see any new sound effect object. It's actually an offence under the trade descriptions act to say things have something you're paying for when in actual fact they don't.

I've said it before and will keep on saying it too, that LBP cameras are USELESS and nowhere more so than in this kit. The levels are great fun but the cameras make multiplayer an absolute nightmare. I see no good reason why Mm can't give us the LBP2 cameras for use in LBP1. WHY NOT !!

haha whooaaaa calm downnnn.
they wouldntve put those camers in these levels anyway. because that would limit playing offline. i'd imagine that they won't use it in the LBP2 story levels either. at least, i hope they don't.

i for one prefer playing offline multiplayer so this is totally okay with me

I only had one moment where I even noticed the cameras... Issue #3 in front of the cut-out of daredevil it is clear you are stradaling two zones as the camera waffled rather slowly... deciding which to go with. But outside of that-- no problems to report! they're might have been a cutscene or two that caused me a death or two but htat is inevitable when your chasing after Morgana holding her back!

Sorry again

personally i think this is my favorite pack (apart from POTC) it contains lots of useful objects, stickers and decorations since the POTC pack. (window decorations should knock down thermo by half for city levels they did for my Iron man two level).

At times the level where a little frustrating but that would be my only criticism otherwise they were really original and fun!

as I am short for cash I'm sticking to Iron Man costume it always reminds me of a famous line in shrek - "ahh, look at him in his wee little boots" (scottish accent).

Another illusion, like The Incredibles level.

I'm not so certain this time. It looks way too far back... I actually stopped playing to mess about with it. If it's in the normal layers, then that means there is only 1 thick layer separating that background from the closer one. It just doesn't seem possible.

I've also noticed that they are using rtm's waterfall technique at multiple points. The obvious one being the elevators that continuously rise in Level 3. There's no other way to do that.

I stopped to take a look myself too, but could not come up with a conclusion...

The only way i see it is that these guys are the programmers, they can adapt the game how they please. If it is the 3D glitch, wow!

Its the 3D glitch. The highway is two thick layers. Behind these two is one thick layer. The thin buildings go about 2 more thick layers back, which means 3D glitch. Also, is it me or is the 4x challenge IMPOSSIBLE?

I spent half an hour trying to actually do it (my friends decided to act like idiots), and when we finally got it right, it was my turn to jump on top of the crate thingies. I jumped for the prize bubbles, got the first two..then something pushed me back. SOMETHING. PUSHED ME. BACK. Literally, I didnt move my analog stick to the right, but somehow I was thrown into spikes, ON our last life. Those two prize bubbles that got away will haunt me for the rest of my life.

I'll look at it again, before I tried sticking decorations on it and they seemed close, but it's difficult to judge whether it's on the normal layers or if it's in the the second or so layer of the glitch layers.

Also, if they do use it, then I can finally stop calling it the glitch layers, extra or distant layers sound better.

Ok, I just looked at it, it's definitely 100% layer glitch (Not exactly a glitch when they use it though).

It's obvious when you work it out.

The truck is in 2 thick playable layers, yes? Then there's the houses which are 1 layer thick. There's a gap between them and the truck. Then there's the thin house in the background, there's even more space between them and the thick layers.

So they've used it, which is a good sign, this means we may be seeing it as an official tool in LBP2 maybe, I think that was just a little teaser to tell us to expect it. They know how good the community are at spotting these things, lol.

Anyone else was a bit dissappointed to find out that Doc Ock's Tentacle arms use the torso-slot instead of the back-slot?
Was hoping to use them in combination with other costumes but it's not possible like this.

Yeah, I wanted to make the version of Doc Oc from Spiderman 2 so I was a little disappointed.

I thought they would occupy the "neck" section like that psycho mantis costume piece...

Same Shelby's coat would have look great with the tentacles.

Anyway, I definitely love the levels ! :hero: Mm's urban levels (the Incredibles, Marvel) are really the best urban levels. And I finally managed to get a 100% score in every level.

By the way, I think there's gonna be some videos on Youtube soon, but I've just taken some screenshots of the first level anyway.

Layer glitch stuff.

I'm not so sure, I don't think they used the layer glitch there.

Anyhow, I took pictures to make sure.
Here's how far the bell decoration from the POTC pack, at full size, stretches from the background to the front of the truck:
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn65/warlord_evil/APhoto_1-1.jpg

I went into a blank level, and I then placed another bell decoration at full size on a thin layer in the back layer. I had a thick block placed at the foremost front layer that would be considered to be in the same layer as the truck:
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn65/warlord_evil/APhoto_2-1.jpg
The bell appears to be cut-off at the same area, this suggests that no glitch layers were used.

I'm not against the layer glitch, but I don't see it in this level.

EDIT: I just noticed, that in the level there seems to be some kind of space in between the tire of the truck and the supposed front thin layer, which the tire should be on but is not, so I don't know what's going on there.

Also, the buildings look like they're layer glitched because the of lighting that was used. I think...

EDIT!!!! This link says that we were denied a level. -_-

It says 5 levels..?! (http://www.littlebigplanet.com/en-gb/game_guide/ps3/downloadable_content/marvel_level_kit/)

Well, comic book villains are notorious for making comebacks, sometimes in the same issue in which they were defeated in. There are four packs coming out..

Maybe they haven't released the 5th level (Survival?) in which you can win the sound effects that we haven't heard?
More likely to be a really bad typo. Hope I'm wrong though!

Nice pack, 1st level was weeeaaaak, but the other three were superb. My favourite was the 3rd one. For some reason I was mesmerised by the Thing skin material, it worked so well! Found out about a few heroes I had no idea existed....and MAN, ghost rider is DARK! 'Vengeance is nigh..' ooooo he's creepy!

Thought it was funny how Magneto changed his look in the 3rd level, he turned from the official picture to an Mm drawing of him.

I still think that MGS is the best pack released so far, but this was nice.

Cameras are terrible in multiplayer....urrgh.

Oh! I wondered which person said vengence is nigh! I was flying past him and couldn't get a good look at the face.

Now that I think about it, there was one thing that kept bugging me during these levels. The magic mouths would disappear or I would fly past them before I could read all it had to say. It didn't happen a ton, but it happened enough to bug me...

Yeah that happened to me too, or my brother would close them..

No! What did you say Magneto!
I'm not saying it again.
C'MOOONN!! PLEASE!
No.
You're mean Magneto!
I know, but I'm taking classes to manage it.

The bell appears to be cut-off at the same area, this suggests that no glitch layers were used.

I'm not against the layer glitch, but I don't see it in this level.
Finally someone talking sense.

I knew Mm would not resort to a glitch to make great effects

I dunno.
Media Molecule DID say there were very impressed with some of the glitches people use to make awesome levels. It would stand to reason that as we used MM's tools to build "our" own (for instance, the impressive logic, though it's not really new. You know what I mean though.), MM would use our tools for their purposes.

In any case, if there's any reason why MM would not use the 50 layer glitch, it is because it may cease to exist some day.
Not because MM would actively remove it, as they said they were trying to keep it in (LBP2), but because a patch could inadvertently remove it.
MM doesn't know how it came into being, they wouldn't really know what could kill it, right?

I checked it out as well... the effect is sold by moving the back thin layer much slower than the initial background. Check it out... try putting decorations on each layer... the back one moves waaaay slower.

Conclusion: no glitch.

These levels are quite fun. Lots of clever/creative stuff like the magnets and highway...had me stopping and scratching my head in several places to try to figure out how things worked.

* I'm a tad disappointed in the "thing-skin" material (the one material I thought would be useful)...when you apply stickers it's still got this gold sheen poking through.

Probably a magnetic key and switch, that, once in or out of a certain radius, activates, causing the invisable winch to move up/down.2010-07-08 16:03:00

That's the same issue with any bug/glitch that sneak there way in, but it doesn't mean they don't know how to fix it.

As far as I know, they would look at how the code of the game is affected whilst reproducing the glitch. That way they would know what part of the code is to blame, and then fix that part of the code that is at fault.

So all they need to know is how to reproduce the glitch.

There are no prizes on that level, so therefore it's impossible to get all prizes, kinda like survival/score challenges.

Are you taliking about the Goodie Icon on the level?

If so, the only prizes you get are from the scoreboard and I don't think that icon takes those into account. Just look at the level information page that shows the prizes and that will show you if you are missing any, but you shouldn't be

Iron Man costume is very detailed. Definately getting it!

Iron man costume is a disappointment for me. When you sticker it black, it goes brown. Also, most of the armour is made with a stupid skin underneath. This means if you try and make another costume using the armour it looks really bad.

Yeah, this really sucks. There's a bunch of complaints in the comments of the level.
I'm fairly certain that if you collect all items in a story level, except the acing/scoreboard ones, you don't get the goodie bag icon.
And when you do ace it and recieve the final scoreboard acing prizes, the goodie bag icon appears.
That means the acing items contribute to the goodie bag total correct? Therefore we should get the icon for that last marvel level. >=|

I don't think I'll buy any marvel costumes until all the packs are released.
I mean, the level pack is cheaper than one costume pack!

The magnets are a combination of winches and mag keys. I set one up for a level ages ago. I think I deleted it from my moon though.

As for the packs:
Costumes:
Iron Man is the best
then doc ock
daredevil
thing
mystique.

Levels:
I liked these a lot, more than PotC.
Favourite = Highway
But the last level was a let down, yes it was good, but I expected more after the laser had blown up.
Stickers are good and have given me a few ideas, decorations are good too.

Can't wait to see the other packs.

Okay... guy who's mentally unstable, and breaks the 4th wall all the time to hilarious effect compared to Deus Ex Machina with an attitude*.
Wolverine's only a staple character because Marvel puts him in every comic.

* "Ho**** [villain of the week] is on the loose!" "Don't worry, we'll shoot Wolverine at him and everything will be okay."

I bought the level kit and I've already completeted aced and 100% all the levels, but I'm a biut sceptical about buying the costume pack...

Is there any chance of a massive costume pack once all of the costumes have been revealed? If there is going to be a massive one, it's probably going to be cheaper...

So will there be a Marvel Super Costume Pack (All 4 packs together)?

I'm annoyed they are releasing the packs with mismatched costumes in them.

Why not group all the xmen, then xmen villains and then spider man related ones, then etc.

Rather than absolutely NO ordering at all, just a little bit of structure would be nice.

Money.

As you know, buying a pack of costumes will be less than buying them separately to make the group.
Selling them this way when some people may only want, say the X-Men costumes, means that they have to buy all four separately, which is more than it would cost that if they were bundled in a pack.

At the end of the days it's their business practice that they want to follow, and we have no option but to like it or lump it.

Overall - this is my least favorite level pack. Not big on the music, and the decorations were not the best. A good number of stickers, but no new sound effects (this would have been a great opportunity to include some wonderful, superhero filled sound effects).

As for the levels themselves, again - mostly disappointed. Level 2 was well done - and bits and pieces of the others were nicely made - but overall, much of the gameplay seemed very amateurish.

Not a bad level pack - but at his point in LBP's lifecycle - I expected more.

Marvel is defiantely the best pack in terms of level quality in my opinion. Because it wasn't centered around a gimmick like water or paint gun. Some of the stickers are very good, like the energy based ones and paint splats. The objects are lame except for iron mans light. The decorations are decent and the materials are lame except for thing skin which is very good.2010-07-12 17:14:00

On the subject of the level pack, I've noticed something kinda strange with it, and I'm wondering if it's just me, or happens with everyone.

If someone on my friends list is playing one of the Marvel Pack levels, the status on the XMB friends list doesn't display the level name, but just "Pod 1/4", or however many are playing the level, but the status on the My Friends list page in-game shows the correct level name.

It only happens with Marvel levels - every other level works just fine. Has anyone else had this?

I have to agree with you there, good but not as good as it should have been with how long Mm have had to tinker with LBP. Their magic mouth placement, especially in the first 2 levels, is truly awful and something I would expect from a complete 'noob' to LBP.

Also about the sound effects. We need many more of those and less stupid stickers. Do Mm actually listen to the community or even care what we want!? BTW sound effects were stated as being included in the kit on the official LBP site so for there not to be any after all is,at the very least 'misrepresentation' and at worst 'fraud'.

Webmaster =/= Media Molecule developer, though it IS a silly mistake to make.
Throwing words like "fraud" around is a big step, though. Mistakes are made.

And keeping LBP2 in mind, I think Media Molecule does listen to it's fans.
You probably have to consider that during the development of the Marvel levels, Media Molecule was also working on LBP2, though I'm not 100% certain on that one.

Contrary to the naysayers, I am digging the content in the level pack.

The stickers are great. I've used several of them thus far... the key is to not use them as they are immediately intended. Get creative people! The decorations are also fantastic. The materials are 'meh', but the Retro Comic material is great, since material changing to it produces a smooth material sans the bevel. This is wonderful for custom stickers, and I've use it half a dozen times already. The level packs were fun. Were they the best ever? No. Were they the best level packs to date? Yes.

I don't know what the beef is. Be thankful, people!

Well, to be fair - that is all your opinion - others are posting their own opinions.

Asking definitive questions and then answering them for us hardly validates them.

Comphers got it right. The levels were mehhh but the goodies have been paying off. Its all about what you do with em. Some great stickers, good music, good decorations, and few good materials and objects. Would have loved some new sounds but you cant win em all. I'm happy with the pack. No, not the greatest creating tools but they were the funnest levels so far.

I know a lot of people have been saying level 3 was the best, but I didn't like it at all. It looked terrible. The combination of the panels and the thing skin looked horrible and what had them materials got to do with a lab. Yes, it was quite fun but stupid all the more.

I won't complain on the overall pack, that's good value for money but...

Is it smart to put the ONLY 4x section in the level that is CLEARLY more subjected to LAG with fast emitted stuff? At the very end of the level? With a double checkpoint?
I wonder if MM guys have ever played from home with the average connection available to users, because they wouldn't have taken this overall silly decision.

Decisions like this transform a pleasure into a pain in the youknowwhere.

Anyway, I'm quite pleased, but MGS pack is still the top.
When will infos on the other costume pack come out?

Actually that's a single life checkpoint!
Plus you can't use the next checkpoint, as you can't get back up to the 4x area.
Also if you fall between the 2 trucks you need to pop yourself.
*slow clap* to whoever implemented that one. Maybe it is hard on purpose? I hope so.

Yes. Say you are making some custom stickers... you can do away with the beveled edge that tends to ruin the picture's detail (there are some shadows/highlights even in front view for beveled materials). For example, I made a stop-sign recently that is one of the clearest custom stickers I've seen.

Ooh. I'll have to check that out... before it gets patched.

Wouldn't waste your time. It only works when you material change to it. Even pasting an object with the effect, or resizing/editing will cause it to lose the effect. In fact, I think the little "glitch" is how the material is supposed to behave, but it being cardboard causes a little conflict with have the serrated/beveled edge. The "glitch" is actually just a really smooth white border, as you might see in a comic book. I will chat with Spaff/Tom about which it's supposed to be.

Actually while your at it you could ask for them to patch the material so that it is like this the whole time without the need to use the material changer. Its incredibly useful.

You could be giving away the tastiest reddest apples in all the land-- out of the goodness of your heart... Some would complain of the size of their apple in relation to others... Some would complain that they really weren't that red... Others would insist on the scale of tasty-- these were rather low.

I myself would enjoy, and then immediately go plant the seeds in the hope... they bear my own fruit.

It's the reason why there are so few 5star levels out there... I've thought forever that we should be able to rate the story levels.
When you think about it, (immediate feedback) that's one less tool Mm has than us... our audience tells us loud and clear in gold stars what they think! I absolutely stand by this pack, for me the MARVEL issues 1-3 would all be 5 star. Issue 4 is short and less than I expected; 4 stars.

I absolutely agree with Gravel's post, but with this pack especially, stars would be a bad idea.

Have you seen the comments section of some of the levels. "Marvel sucks! DC rules!" "Why make a pack like this? DC is way better!"

Not really related to the direct feedback bit, but still worth a thought.

I always loved Marvel, i guess i know it well enough to know that Elektra is an assassin Juuuust a guess!

Wolverine was trained as an assassin too (in some of his stories).
But yeah. It's most likely Elektra.

You can rate DLC on the PSN (with stars). As for rating story levels - not sure what the point would be - and, to be honest, I'm confused by your point.

So, people don't enjoy things as they should "it's the reason why there are so few 5 star levels out there" - but people should be able to give stars to story levels?

(Not trying to be rude - just really not sure I understand what you're going for here.)

[My point exactly... (annoyed)... It's the same reason why they're are so few 5 star levels and why if we could rate Mm's levels-- they too, would be downrated.] On the upside, if this whole enterprise lasts long enough (and thats a l-o-n-g 'long enuff&apos, all levels will eventually be three stars and I can take heart that I was just way ahead of the curve!2010-07-14 15:23:00

So, between the More Animals pack (the turtle costume), the Monkey King costume (the staff), Sack Sparrow's sword, Daredevil's nun-chuck and now Elektra, we can make all the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Just need to figure out how to make good looking bandana that goes over the eyes.

Has to be Captain America.

I don't really know much about The Avengers but it says this on Wikipedia:

Labeled "Earth's Mightiest Heroes", the Avengers originally consisted of Ant-Man, Wasp, Thor, Iron Man, and The Hulk. Captain America joined in issue #4.

So it's either gonna be Thor or The Hulk. I'm puttin' my money on Thor.

I wouldn't rule the Cap'n out. After all Marvel is making a movie right now called "Captain America: The First Avenger", and I believe every costume in the series is for a character featured in a Marvel movie.

I believe it will be Thor for three reasons.

1. There was a rumour Thor would be in this pack.
2. If it was Hulk or Captain America, the clue would have been more significant and well known. (Let's face it, what is Thor really famous for compared to some of the others?)
3. I think each pack contains one major Character:
Pack 1: Iron Man
Pack 2: Spider Man
Pack 3: Wolverine/ Captain America
Pack 4: Captain America/ Wolverine

Just for the record, I doubt I'm wrong, but I'm gonna feel really stupid if I am...

Apart from the torso, you can easily make this (read: Something quite similar) with the Norse Mythology pack.

Still, 5 for the price of 4 (?) is a good deal, so full pack for me.

Yeah i feel the exact same. I've been good with my own custom spiderman, etc. But there's maybe a few costume pieces worth the money if i end up putting good use to them. TBH, I have so many bought costumes that i lose track of what pieces i have. Either that or i get sick of wearing the same costumes, i like my customs

I can see a LOT of Scarlet Spider/Ben Reilly fans being really happy, even though it may not be exactly as Ben's logo was.

Ghost Rider is the best DLC costume ever to be released!

Simple as.

His clothes could do anything from a punk biker to a rock god. And the skull. Don't get me started on the skull!

I also bought the Spiderman costume which is kinda "meh". Its not great to look at but great fun to run around the community in.

I think the Spiderman costume is pretty neat actually. You can add some other costume pieces to it as the body is just a skin, and you can still attach hair to the head.

And it seems a bad pack...
I expect:
2 hair styles
5 skins
2 gloves (one with claws, the other with shield)
2 caps
3 boots max (even if Captain America and Wolverine's are cool)

and not so much else.

I really hope they'll include Wolverine's muttonchops... It's the only thing I need to create myself into LBP.

A Signature-Sack, or Sig-Sack if you will.

Not too sure about the glowing eyes on wolverine or the fact that venom's head is a helmet.
I'll still get them though. Cap America has a star zip. That's new for costumes!

I'm guessing you're disappointed then. I think a lot of people will be. I was really looking forward to wolverine and expected it to be one of the best but it's actually one of the worst. Blue helmetYellow headglowing eyesno muttonchopsno claws. WTF is that all about !? That's not the wolverine I know.

EDIT: There may be claws but it's difficult to tell from that picture. If there are they're very insubstantial and don't make up for the rest of it being so poor.

Wolverine's supposed to be yellow and blue though, isn't he? And the mutton chops would be hidden by his mask anyways.

Each to their own I guess, from the promo pics wolverine and spiderman looked awesome to me. I haven't actually seen any of them close up, though, so IDK what they really look like....

I haven't gotten any of the costumes yet. I might, but so far I just picked up the level pack. Some of them I have seen in-game I haven't quite ummm 'Marveled' at. I think they were mostly from the first pack though.2010-07-28 16:52:00

'Marveled'
Funny.

This is wolverine. I guess you were thinking more along the lines of a newer wolverine, like a sack Hugh Jackman (Hugh Sackman ) from the movies?

I'm actually thinking about getting that costume, it's my favorite so far!

Oh yeah and on second look, wolverine def has claws.

Thanks monstahr.

That is what I was thinking. I've never seen that one. I figured the one in the films was pretty much identical to the comic book as I thought Marvel would have insisted on it being pretty close as their permission to portray him would have had to be gained. I guess I was wrong. Maybe for enough money they allow film companies to do what they like with their characters!?

I thought the wolverine looked pretty cool, if they made it like the movie, i wouldn't really like it :x

Either that or they thought Xmen needed a modern re-imagining.. I dunno, I'm not a huge comic buff. I find both wolverines pretty badass but in sack form, I think old-school wolverine is cooler.

Honestly, if they'd gone with the classic costumes, the films would have been bad.
Yellow and blue spandex? That really wouldn't have worked.

But, honestly, if you think Wolverine, the first thing is his claws.
The second is that he's the Deus ex Machina of Marvel. ("Oh dear. Galactus is attacking. Again." "Oh, don't worry about it. We'll send Logan, and we'll be done by lunch.")
The third is his hair, which includes the 'chops.

I'm still gonna buy it, as the claws would go well with a ninja outfit, but I need the 'chops to make real-life Melfice. (Even though I haven't sported muttonchops for the past three months, but it's my trademark, okay!?)

There are no sound effects in the Marvel pack...

There were sound effects advertised at first, but they weren't in the pack.

Hmm, it really depends how they'd pull it off, but seeing as they pulled off the last two movies, it probably would look bad =P (IMO)

Wolvie's cool, but he's way too overrated. Deadpool is getting that way too :T

Back on-topic: I thought they usually release the DLC details on Sat - Mon?

Ahh... a Jim Lee wolverine... only thing finer is a Frank Miller. (maybe) Wolvie was the start of the whole 'anti-hero super-hero'... Im kinda surprised he doesn't at least have a 5 O'clock shadow? Still this pack doesn't change my opinion that the Marvel dlc have all been very high quality... was really hoping that Sue storm was gonna be semi-transparent...

and Finally, Deadpool.

Wasn't Deadpool a Rob Liefeld creation??? The most static comic book artist of all-time. All style no substance... never could take that guy seriously... If he wasn't always Holographicaly-foiled-embossed (the issue here) he wouldn't sell. In comic book terms; he's a johnny come lately... all Image, a one-off, a flash in the pan, a bit part, a day player--no s.a.g card in hand. A headshot, thats bled-out... A compress, when a tourniquet is what's needed-- for your head to be spun on right... What more must I say- Shall I 'tweet' it? The last guy any hero would ever call if needing any help in a fight! A stagnate pool, of hallowless talent, mirthly wading in-- the deep end, in-- over his head... and without a paddle. "D" to the "POOL" is trite.

All of the costumes in this pack are VERY good.
I love all of them.
Venom's tendrils shoot out when you are angry. Same with Wolverine and his claws. Nice little effect there.

I have the pack, its out for america right now!
Wolverine is so cool! His claws extend out when you make him angry only!! Captain America's shield is awesome! Venom is a bit dissapointing, Thor is O.K, Rogue is Ok if your a girl i guess

Snrm, Thor isn't in the pack 3 it's invisible woman... which we only buy for the hair >_>
But anyway, overall the costumes look really nice, Wolverine is amazing, with his claw coming out when you're mad and same goes with Venom but he extends his "webs".
Rogue is cool for sackboys and sackgirls costumes and Captain america is okay, The little A on his forehead is stitched with scotch
