Warhammer 40,000 anyone?
Archive: 15 posts
With the new top-down system, why don't all those Games Workshop fans out there design a Warhammer or Warhammer 40,000 turn-based game? It would'nt be too difficult. Microchips could take care of all the dice rolling and measuring. Or maybe a Dawn of War style RTS, if that's too difficult. | 2010-06-25 21:16:00 Author: Duke Phoenix Posts: 18 |
Awesome idea. If you're making a group, I'll join. | 2010-06-26 15:53:00 Author: Starchy Posts: 353 |
It would totally work, it would be difficult though. Side note I have a 100% win streak in Warhammer 40K | 2010-06-26 15:56:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
Thats an awesome idee!! Going to take a lot of time though...... | 2010-06-26 16:12:00 Author: Unknown User |
A 40k turn basd game would be nice but hard to make i would think. I have made a Space Hulk game which i first intended to be turn based but i was too compicated so i just made it like a normal top down game instead of turn based. Have thought of making a Dawn of War based game myself with different planets like the real game but its only really an idea to be honest. I would definately enjoy playing a turn based battle game though. | 2011-04-26 12:20:00 Author: Lordwarblade Posts: 761 |

It would totally work, it would be difficult though. Side note I have a 100% win streak in Warhammer 40K A figure like that means: 1: You havent played many games 2: You play with a very close-knit group of friends, who you have an army optimized against The best players in the world lose at times too. Its all about the dice. What army do you play? Average points level for games you play? | 2011-04-27 02:34:00 Author: the Ion Pulsar Posts: 172 |
Good luck with that.. | 2011-04-27 03:33:00 Author: Maxi Posts: 1176 |
i have a 100% win streak in wh40k. a little of 1 and 2 there but i wouldnt say my team was optimized against my friends because they all played something totally different. i played eldar. We also played below avg point games because my friends are tightwads, lol. However, if you take my heroclix career into account, i have a lot more credibility. i have played about a buttzillion games of that. had a collection consisting of very near every clix in existence, including the giants and special editions. played in many many tournaments and maintained a victory percentage around 90% including a much much larger player base. also: i dont turtle. god i miss that game... anyways, yes a wh40k level would be awesome. some of my fav mythos ever. heck wh40k just about anything is awesome. | 2011-04-27 03:39:00 Author: Deftmute Posts: 730 |
I wont play anything smaller than 2000 points. My friends know why as well- Necrons perform horribly at low points levels. 2000 is about the optimum- ENough necrons to support WBB and stave off PO, but not high enough for the enemy to have a huge column of Demolishers staring me down. They they might have them anyway. But you play eldar so... Your anti-armor likely consists of Prisms. Glass cannons for eveyone! VOD lord, immortals, appear behind you, shoot Prism. Prism proceeds to detonate. Rinse and repeat next turn. Most people dont take more than 2 prisms because of their prohibitive price. If I'm not in a VOD mood or you have some particularly nasty CC near your prisms (For some reason) I'll just snipe them with Destroyers. Eldar are probably the only army I wont take my Monoliths against on the off chance you have a D-Cannon. This means I'll likely settle for Heavy Destroyers and just snipe anything important looking. A lack of splash damage will hurt your ability to take down entire units at once, and will allow me to turbo huge units of Scarabs at your lines unhindered. | 2011-04-27 04:02:00 Author: the Ion Pulsar Posts: 172 |
I can imagine 10 mawlocs deepstriking in one turn... that would be fun (wish I had 10 mawlocs) I want grey knights aswell | 2011-04-27 06:45:00 Author: waaghgork Posts: 160 |
Ten Mawlocs... That... http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu328/zerosignal/mother-of-god-super-troopers.jpg I just gotta hope my Pariahs and my Lord are saved by their armor saves through the first round. If they make it, the mawlocs are pretty much toast. Also, it depends where they DS at. Thank you, deep strike accidents! | 2011-04-27 06:54:00 Author: the Ion Pulsar Posts: 172 |
there were no necrons when i played. | 2011-04-28 16:50:00 Author: Deftmute Posts: 730 |
i like the idea, But the dice rolling might not be ideal as I've heard that randomisers (sp?) arent truley random and will churn out the same random sequence each time you play. maybe go with a similar Idea to valkyria chronicles where bullets will land within an aimed circle, so it can still remain partially randomised as the player controles where the circle is pointed. P.s. I also have been collecting an army of necrons for about 3 years, so I know the game quite well. I even have some of the orriginal necron models. man those things looked wierd...... | 2011-04-28 17:17:00 Author: Smudge228 Posts: 533 |
