A Sequencer of Sorts [Resolved]

Archive: 4 posts

So I've searched the forums as well as using google search, but I can't find a way to make what I'm looking for.

Now it's not necessarily a sequencer for cut-scenes and the like (that's easy lol), but more along the lines of the order you push buttons in.

Say I want people to push buttons in the sequence of: 2, 3, and then 1. After doing so, you'll open a door, get a prize, ect. However, I want it to reset if you push the wrong button next (as in 2, 1, 3 or 2, 2, 2, ect.). I've thought of a way of doing this, but it requires A LOT of thermo and is overly complicated. Anyone know how to make a fairly low thermo contraption to successfully make the player HAVE to enter 2, 3, 1 as the sequence?

It's as if the cosmos aligned for your request, because there is something exactly like what you want

At the bottom of comphermc's published levels, there's a copyable tutorial for the Ordered Inputs Tool, originally conceived by rtm223.

rtm223's Object Showcase: Ordered Inputs Tool (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=21444-Ordered-Input-Device-Tutorial&highlight=ordered+inputs+tool) (The pictures are a little outdated and the one in comphermc's level is more thermo-efficient, but the thread explains the tool's features.)

I'm gonna go ahead and add [Resolved] to the original post. Feel free to post any questions you have about it, but my tutorial level seems pretty fool-proof in my eyes.

Thanks for the help. I'll be sure to check out the level next time I'm on LBP. xD Your design (compher) is amazing...if you saw mine, you'd probably die of laughter.2010-06-24 04:38:00
