Sci-Fi tragedy level(s) Crew Needed

Archive: 15 posts

I was thinking about telling the story of 2 friends of mine who were in an epic romance that ended recently with her death from cancer. I was thinking of making it a sci-fi themed level/series. What do you think? Should I contact anyone in particular to help with this? Is there anyone who wants to make people cry? What's your opinion of this concept? etc.2010-06-23 17:12:00

Cool, can you think of anyone else that you could point here to help us?
And, I'm a little short on cash, so do you accept forum thanks as currency?
And I have a lot of story ideas already.

Infact, I do. Giving away cookies for 5 thanks each!
And RockSauron might want to help with the story. Also, can you PM me your story ideas?

Trust me, Clay loves stories.

A little bit too much. I read him Snow White one night, then he burnt it saying "It wasn't creative enough" and sat down and began writing.

All I'm saying is, you have the right story man...

I am definitely interested.
I would love to help. Story levels are among my most favored.

Are you any good at creating, because I'm okay. However, I want this project to be EPIC. MM-mention-worthy/crownable. Not that I'm doing this for a crown, I just want them to be that good.

Hm, sorry, this doesn't really seem like something I'm interested in. Also, I can't do much more then stories, so I think Clay there may be more then enough. So sorry, but good luck 2010-06-25 11:54:00

I would like to think that i am a good enough creator, i suppose if you want to see a level i made then you will have to wait till Project World is finished.

I know it's a HUGE bump, and a REALLY LONG post, and for that I am sorry.
HOWEVER, I will now post the story I was thinking about.
First, though, the true story. I had met 'him' and 'her' forever ago. Everyone that knew them knew that they would eventually get married. They started dating, then got engaged. Then, one day her foot started hurting. It didn't go away, in fact, it continued to get worse until he eventually had to carry her around so that she wouldn't have to walk. She finally went to the doctor. It was cancer. A rare kind of cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma. Even rarer in a female. Rarer still in an adult. And, even though it is usually an aggressive cancer, it moved peculiarly fast. So, they decided to get married sooner, rather than wait until later, when she lost her hair/they wouldn't let him into the room because of the 'family only' restriction.
She lived until three days after their six-month anniversary.
I'm going to bed now, but I will edit this post to tell the story ideas I had, or maybe clay could help by posting what he remembers of the story we discussed.
EDIT : Now for the story. I was thinking about making it a sci-fi story that takes place between the homeworlds of two species. Right between, at Midway Station, a galactic rest-stop one each peoples' journey to their 'other home.'
The way it works is as follows : Earth and (unnamed planet) are each polluted to the point that the species that lives on each world has begun looking for another planet to colonize. However, what they find is even more remarkable. Another species, humanoid, that is in a similar bind. The only reason they continue relations after the initial get-to-know-each-other/share-tech phase is because, as you know, humans take in oxygen and expel CO2. The (unnamed species) take in CO2 and expel oxygen! The rest of the inert gases are in the same proportion on both planets as well! Which means? IT"S HABITABLE!!
so, the two worlds broker a peace between the warring factions on each planet and sign a treatise outlining the following. Each species 'pollutes' the planet their on until it's unlivable. Then they switch. Early on in the cycle, each population builds half of a space station, Midway Station, on which they can rest for a while and refuel their ships, before finally resuming their journey. The story takes place on Mid way, sometime during the fourth cycle. Each cycle consists of Earth to (planet 2) and up until the point of planetfall back on Earth again.

Just so you know, we don't have to use all (or even necessarily any) of this, it is just some ideas that were floating around my head.2010-07-18 07:51:00

Clay has an idea of a space station with another population who attacks without reason, turning it into a battle thing.2010-07-22 06:30:00
