Problem with my psn acc.

Archive: 14 posts

prolly something I have to contact sony to get fixed.. but ill ask here as well.

So when we first got our ps3 i was away for a few days..
My brother was so kind to make me a profile (though I live in europe its american).
And thats not a big problem (unless there are official contests )
the problem is.. my brother filled in a random email ad. and even a random password.
To make things even worse.. the adress is of a random "white castle" establishment somewhere in america.

How in the hecking world would I be able to swap my profile onto my new ps3?
I think I got the right email ad, and obviously my user name..
Would that be enough to ask sony to clean up the mess my brother made..
Or do I have to create a new acc. and lose all my DLC.

*facepalm.jpg*

The password is completely random I have no clue what it is,
the email adress was comepletely random, so I have no way getting into that in-box.

So even if they send me a new password, I dont have access to that email ad.

Perhaps you can create a new account on the old PS3 that you could download the DLC to, then you could transfer that account?

(I'm no good at this stuff.)

First of all that's a very weird way to make an account. Secondly there wont be a way to transfer it then, you probably wont be able to prove to Sony that it is actually your account, your screwed unfortunately mate.

All I can say is don't perform the data transfer.

Ouch. Yeah, you're kinda screwed.

I recently transferred my system from my old PS3 to my new one using the Data Transfer Utility, and the account password isn't transferred.

And since you need to know your password to change either your email or password, that's not gonna work either. You'll have to contact Sony support, although seeing as all your account info is effectively bogus, you might have a hard time proving who you are.

Couldnt they send my psn a msn mail on which I could reply/ferify?

Nontheless, luckily my acc. is not the main acc. but my brothers,
Worst case scenario I could have him log in on the new ps3 and use a new acc for myself to re-aquire my stuff?

thanks for the answers so far guys.

If your account is a sub-account of your brother's, can't he change your info from his account?

I believe he can... There is a "Manage sub accounts" option when in the master account, I know that.

See, for future reference, here's what I always do. I will save my email, password, and PSN as personal dictionary words. Then I believe it lists them as words after that is done. :] It's easier to reference and harder to forget. But I know your brother probably didn't know that... :/2010-06-27 21:51:00
