Little Sackboy: The Dream Master
Archive: 5 posts
With LBP2's brand new toys, I started day dreaming of remaking Little Nemo, a rare game on the NES (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Nemo:_The_Dream_Master). It centres around a young boy adventuring through dreams to get to Slumberland. It features unique gameplay, such as having to find a certain number of keys and feeding candies to animals to "ride" them. In Little Sackboy, the player will journey through eight dream worlds, where they will also have to find keys to the exit. When a player completes a dream, he will move on to the next. I have no idea how I will implement the animals so far, probably with Sackbots. Here are the dreams you will adventure through. Dream 1: Mushroom Forest A nice easy starting area which introduces the concept of keys and animals. Set in a bright forest with giant mushrooms. Beams of sunlight shine down on the area. Dream 2: Flower Garden A more difficult area, introduces deadly spikes and dangerous monsters. Dream 3: House of Toys You have search for keys within a giant toy train. Dream 4: Night Sea Go swimming under the ocean and enlist the help of the hermet crabs to help you explore shipwrecks. Don't forget to breathe! Dream 5: Sackboy's House Explore a gigantic version of what appears to be your character's house. This place is almost like a maze, so don't get lost! Dream 6: Cloud Ruins Jump across the rooftops of houses, then climb up to a secret ruin in the sky to find those keys, before climbing back down again to the exit. Dream 7: Topsy-Turvy Which way is up? Explore a building which twists about. Prepare to walk on the walls, doors and even the ceiling! Dream 8: Nightmare Land You finally arrive at Slumberland only to find their King had been kidnapped by the Nightmare King, who is plotting to take over Slumberland! This dream will be split up into three seperate stages. You will no longer be collecting keys to unlock the exit, instead you will fight a boss at the end. You will also be able to wheld the Morning Star, which is able to shoot energy beams at a 45 degree angle, allowing you to combat the Nightmare King and his minions. Sounds nice, I don't like mazes with the current camera. I would zoom it out even more if possible in LBP2. | 2010-06-23 22:14:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
