If you think about it, it can reduce the work of the mods a few.2010-06-22 04:44:00

hmm. well it is quite possible. Im just not sure if that can override a thread that has been previously closed by a mod.

EDIT: Yeah you can open your own thread if its closed by a mod! Just tested it.

FINAL EVALUATION: Don't do it!!!

Generally, if it's a case of "I need a lock because my problem is now resolved", you can always just put [resolved] in the thread title and a note in the OP. That's generally good enough and it has two major benefits over getting a mod to lock it. Firstly, it won't preclude people discussing alternative solutions to the original problem, which is beneficial to everyone, and secondly it means we don't need to put in any effort 2010-06-23 11:48:00
