The LBPC Ultimate Starter Kit
Archive: 58 posts
Okay, I've had this idea for quite some time now, and now wanted to share it. If it's well liked, I'll throw one together right away. When I discovered the giant LBPC logo courtesy of Taffey, I began using the copyable level as the base for all my future projects. I wanted to have it in every level, and so would choose it to start every production. While I was using it, I began thinking of how cool it would be to have a starter kit that would have some time-saving features. My ideas for a copyable starter kit: One: Small LBPC Logo, Basic Scoreboard with surrounding thin layer. Several: Basic logic switches, which of course can be reprogrammed. Do you all like the idea? | 2010-06-20 20:02:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
I think that this would be very handy, especially for those who are just starting to learn advanced logic like me. Also, What is the level called with the LBPC logo on it? | 2010-06-20 21:25:00 Author: Unknown User |
another cool idea B3! | 2010-06-20 22:46:00 Author: SketchNZ Posts: 1668 |
Cool idea Bill!! I know there would be people interested in something like this. | 2010-06-20 22:55:00 Author: VelcroJonze Posts: 1305 |
Great idea! Definitely go for it. | 2010-06-21 00:48:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
[...]Also, What is the level called with the LBPC logo on it? This thread should explain all: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=19379-Want-to-help-promote-LBPCentral Also, this seems like a pretty good idea. | 2010-06-21 02:19:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
I agree, this seems like a great idea B3! I'm really surprised that I have never heard anyone mention it before. At first I thought that you were going to talk about making a bunch of templates, and I have heard that idea a million times, but this idea of just building the start of a level with some basic tools built in is really cool | 2010-06-21 11:32:00 Author: amazingflyingpoo Posts: 1515 |
I also still have that "medium" LBPC logo for you... It's the same size lettering as Gilgamesh's excellent large logo, but it simply says LBPCentral and takes up a single line instead of 4 lines. I haven't been able to capture it though - I think it's too complex still. Well really, all you need to do is recreate a 'L', and a 'B'. The 'P' and everything else are the right size for it already. | 2010-06-22 05:48:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
sounds good. i still havent figured out how to do the scoreboard thing yet lol. | 2010-06-26 06:33:00 Author: spok22 Posts: 206 |
sounds good. i still havent figured out how to do the scoreboard thing yet lol. Haha, takes a while to get it right. When I'm too lazy I'll most likely turn the layer to gas and then glue it to the Scoreboard, and then unlethalize it. | 2010-06-26 08:47:00 Author: TheNerd Posts: 840 |
We could also create lettering sets like have them in multiple fonts that would get rid of the annoying sticker font | 2010-06-26 11:21:00 Author: Alismuffin Posts: 1328 |
This is a great idea! But who is going to make the levels? | 2010-06-29 00:26:00 Author: eagerneph Posts: 1536 |
We could also create lettering sets like have them in multiple fonts that would get rid of the annoying sticker font Hey I was going to post that. If I may, I would like to volunteer to create some lettering. Maybe in 2-3 fonts at the most? | 2010-06-29 01:35:00 Author: TheNerd Posts: 840 |
Everyone can have a part in this. I suggest we start by having Taffey publish the logo as a copyable level. Then TheNerd and ali and whoever else can make fonts. | 2010-06-29 03:07:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
I suggest we start by having Taffey publish the logo as a copyable level... Whoa whoa whoa, do you mean the LBPC logo? The big and small one? Because we already have one online. Although, if Taffey's is different, then I'll be happy to see it. | 2010-06-29 05:17:00 Author: CyberSora Posts: 5551 |
Yes, mine is slightly different. The same visual style as Gilgamesh's logo but fits in a much smaller space and uses less thermo. I set up the copyable level and went to publish it but I can't get online. Apparently I need to update my game but when I go to do the update it says I have the current version. Odd. I was just online about an hour ago with no issues so they must be making some server-side changes. I'll guess it's related to the new Fantasy level pack coming out tomorrow. Anyway, I'll try again tomorrow get this published as soon as I can get back on the Community Moon. | 2010-06-29 08:02:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
oh taffey, go to the pss and re-agree to terms and cons @the nerd: do as much as u want man | 2010-06-29 08:10:00 Author: Alismuffin Posts: 1328 |
@ Taffey did you update your system? they finally have the system update 6.30 out. it took them 7 monthes to do 1 thing to the systems software. wow | 2010-06-29 09:39:00 Author: ConverseFox Posts: 2333 |
No, you missed while you were gone, but Taffey published a contest entry with the PERFECT LBPC logo. About the same size as the previous small one, but it actually looks good. Also, I really want to have someone add a Randomizer to this. I tried all last night to make a peg randomizer, but I guess the gravity in LBP PSP actually works right, making it unrandom. Can anyone build a randomizer for this kit? | 2010-06-29 16:49:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
I would love to help with this, I could make fonts too (lots of them) or something else. | 2010-06-29 19:02:00 Author: X-FROGBOY-X Posts: 1800 |
Just to make sure that you all know there is a forum about a logic pack for the psp and it seems to be looking at a similar goal to you Ive put the link down there just in case you cant find it https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=29318-Logic-Pack-PSP&p=511679 | 2010-06-29 19:14:00 Author: unXpectiD Posts: 1132 |
oh taffey, go to the pss and re-agree to terms and cons @ Taffey did you update your system? Thanks ali and EEC - it turned out to be a system update. I downloaded the update this morning but it wouldn't install because my battery level was too low... Gah! Why they don't let you install when you have it plugged into AC I will never understand. So anyway, I didn't have time to wait for it to charge up and I had to run to work. I'll install the update and get that level published when I get home in a couple hours. | 2010-06-29 23:27:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
Okay I got one font set made. Took me a while. I'll add it in when Taffey publishes the level. | 2010-06-30 00:38:00 Author: TheNerd Posts: 840 |
Ok! The level is finally up - thanks for being patient everyone. It's called "Small LBPC logo" and has a Sackboy smiley face as the icon. Enjoy! | 2010-06-30 02:47:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
Okay, Nerd is next up with his font. Again: Does anyone know how to create a PSP randomizer? | 2010-06-30 02:50:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
When my triathlon entry is done, I will make a randomizer. I have an idea! | 2010-06-30 04:27:00 Author: ConverseFox Posts: 2333 |
Alright, up and published. Who's next? | 2010-06-30 06:34:00 Author: TheNerd Posts: 840 |

I don't really have much to add to it at this point. I figure when it's done, I'll go in and work on the presentation. I might do a horror font too if I find one. By the way, that graffiti was coming along great on the one I got! | 2010-07-02 13:13:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
I've begun working on formatting the level. Expect it either tonight or tomorrow. | 2010-07-05 21:48:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
Triple bump? Anyways, the kit is up in v.1.00 form. Enjoy! I advise as many of us as possible to keep a copy in your published levels, so the most possible see it. | 2010-07-07 13:54:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |

Sure! Just copy the doors, and move the floor and the scoreboard out to make room. Publish it as version 1.30 or something. | 2010-07-07 14:12:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
Ok v1.30 published! Changes: -LittleBigPlanet Logo added -Two basic logic gates added[perma-switch and RPG scripter] -Sackboy Template | 2010-07-07 15:54:00 Author: Alismuffin Posts: 1328 |
Great minds think alike Ali - I was going to add a sackboy template too! Nice work! | 2010-07-07 16:00:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
ha ha! lmao yea im sick of seeing those grinnimg sackboy objects being passed off as characters so now we've tackled two major issues: -annoying sticker font -annoying "characters" | 2010-07-07 20:49:00 Author: Alismuffin Posts: 1328 |
I have a realy good sackboy template with his arms shaped. its the big sackboy that you start next to first time you go to create mode on a new game but without the mouth cut out and its perfect size. | 2010-07-09 05:46:00 Author: SketchNZ Posts: 1668 |
Hey have you guys finnished the starter kit because i wanted to help with stuff | 2010-07-09 07:02:00 Author: SketchNZ Posts: 1668 |
Nope there's still room for more stuff What have u got? u could do sackboy in different poses XD | 2010-07-09 08:32:00 Author: Alismuffin Posts: 1328 |
Hi guys, I found a few problems in the kit. First, the music area isn't big enough, not that it matters but I thought I'd say it anyways. Also, for some reason, I can't capture the logos. I hope you can fix these issues. | 2010-07-10 00:36:00 Author: HappyGreenCactus Posts: 247 |
oh what ur meant to do is use the level as a template. so whatever u need u just copy or drag and place it. and delete any unneeded stuff | 2010-07-10 00:41:00 Author: Alismuffin Posts: 1328 |
oh what ur meant to do is use the level as a template. so whatever u need u just copy or drag and place it. and delete any unneeded stuff Yeah, I figured that out after I downloaded it. I wish it let me capture the LBP logo cause it's awesome and I wanted to put it into the level that I'm currently working on. | 2010-07-13 03:04:00 Author: eagerneph Posts: 1536 |
try capture each part seperately thats how i transferred it into to pack | 2010-07-13 03:12:00 Author: Alismuffin Posts: 1328 |

Wow this is cool! I was buried in work last month and I'm finally catching up. I would suggest updating the OP with all the changes. It would make it much easier for people to see what has been added. Great work guys. | 2010-07-13 19:36:00 Author: Xenon Posts: 306 |
