Playing the Playstation 3 on a computer

Archive: 8 posts

Is there any way possible of playing the PS3 on a computer? (Preferably a MacBook)

As in, using the MacBook for a screen like the TV...

We only have one TV and the family are usually watching things on it, so I don't often get much time on the PS3...

Even if there isn't yet a solution, does anyone think themselves capable of 'hacking' or making it work in some other way?

Thanks!

i googled it, it appears that it is not possible. the macbook only has a output slot that can be used to connect it to a tv screen.
of course, it is possible if you spend a lot of money on a variety of switches, adapters and other technical mumbo-jumbo.

other things to do:

1: emulate ps3 on macbook, however, not even a macbook couldnt handle all that cpu. emulating an ps2 is however possible.

2: build one of these: http://benheck.com/10-01-2009/ps3-slim-laptop

you could try this http://easycap.co.uk/

The problemwith doing that however is once you get software up and running to show the video on you mac your going to suffer immense input lag.

Windows rules.

Nothing to do with the operating system or the maker. Only the inputs.
