That would be cool, especially for horror levels. I'd create a heartbeat effect.2010-06-20 07:51:00

I agree with Reef1978! That would be awesome!!

The heartbeat attack would also be great if you jump and almost plunge to your death, but land on the edge of a ledge.

Dont see why you shouldn't be able to, if you can map the buttons to do something, surely its not much harder to map something to cause the vibration?2010-06-20 10:16:00

Great idea is great!
That would be so useful in (as people have said above) horror levels!

It would also be cool in racing levels, where if the car crashes, the controller vibrates!

I was thinking about same thing and i'm suppriced they didn't add it to Direct Control Seat
Some info about DS vibration for use on this thread:
DS3 it has 2 vibration motors, small motor (on right of DS3) and large motor (on left of DS3, keep in mind that on image controller is inverted)

http://benheck.com/Articles/dualshock3/ds3_2.jpg

small motor do little buzz vibration, large motor fully shake the controller, so there would be 2 ports to control it

I see little issues and probably didn't add this:

1. Vibration is what mostly eats DS3 battery
2. You might not know this but in console games development, console producer (in here Sony) give some requirements what game should do or not,one of them might be vibration usage restrictions or restriction to give control to vibration motors to users. Im not licenced developer, i only think that such rules might be there
3. Game uses vibration by it self too.

Btw, theres Earthquake switch right (acording to what people seen in CJ), so i think vibration might be seamless and game take care of it, as it always been.

I was thinking about this too but I highly doubt it'll be there, I'm only basing this off the information I've seen, or haven't seen really, though.

You could still do it with a little trickery though, couldn't you? Say, make an invisible piece of electrified material move beneath sackboy or something. And in LBP2 can't you make objects set on fire etc at will?
