Oh Crap! 160 hour glitch?!?!?!

Archive: 11 posts

Ok... First of all, I have no clue what the 160 hour glitch thing looks like, or what happens... BUT I know its a bad thing that happens in create and pretty much ruins levels... I think.

So I was working on a level today, And Let me tell you, I have only been working on it for at most 4 days, on and off... probably a total of 10 or so hours. So it isn't very close to being done. So when I was Creating, In pause mode, I unpause it and everything falls down, even stuff That didnt fall down when I played through it before. I remember gluing them. So i rewind and I glue everything for a second time and it fixed. So I'm like "Ok that was wierd... whatever."

When I was creating about 20 mins ago it happened again! And it is very annoying to glue every single thing all over again, as you can imagine. So is this the behavior of what happens with the 160 hour bug?

P.S. I did create a lot in Play mode, but usually in Pause.

Thanks!
Shab

No the 160 hour glitch has piston, winches, bolts etc slowly go out of snc the just stop working with no way of fixing without moving everything to a new moon spot.2010-06-19 07:20:00

I had this problem a couple of times when I first started creating, turns out I was detaching things that were holding lots of stuff together so everything fell apart.2010-06-20 10:53:00

I've lost a lot of levels to this glitch. and as far as I know, there's no way to fix it beyond gluing everything back together repeatedly.2010-06-20 11:14:00

This happens when you glue dissolve or odd objects like the snake one to a layer that spans a good amount of the level, like if you used one chunk of material to make the back wall of a cave or a building, it happens2010-06-20 21:55:00

this happend to me once, i also rember doing it also. But insted of glueing i used 2 bolts to hold it together i did not have any other problems with that, but the level was taken by the sticker glitch... so try the 2 bolts, or 10 stranth spring bolt, and for your last resort, start putting stiff rods/dark matter in the object.
if none of those works, you would be screwed. (and i would be very sorry for you)

I hope this helped

I think thats what happened because I do have one big chunk of material in the place that I had a dissolve...

I had a problem like this where an entire section of my level dropped then crushed itself out of existance for no apparent reason. I recommend dark matter and regulaly backing up your levels.2010-06-21 08:46:00

This sounds like the glue bug.

I've had problems with the glue bug in the past, although I can't help or tell you what all causes it since I don't know.

I know one possible cause, but it doesn't always cause it, but can, glueing lots of thing all at once, rather than one by one can cause glue bug. I know this from experience. But not always. As for main causes/other causes I don't know. Not sure if anyone does.

this isn't the 160hr bug buts its still an annoying glitch. It usually happens if you have a lot of objects glued together (your whole level all glued together to make one big object for example). One of the best ways to stop it happening is to make your level in sections. Have each challenge a seperate section and hold them in place with some dark matter, don't glue them to the previous section.2010-06-21 22:23:00

Yeah, ROGUE--Elite said what I meant by glueing lots of things all at once, just he worded it better.

Glue bug, got to hate it. That's why like he said its best to start glueing your non-moving stuff with invisible dm.

I'm sure you know, just use no grid and make smallest dm circle you can. I call them dm tacks, lol. Just stick them where needed.
