Resident Evil Mansion Part 1 (published)Chrree
http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/2540/p1114180510.jpgThe Resident Evil Mansion in 3D!
I finaly published it! The most detailed Resident Evil level there is for sure!

If you are a fan of Resident Evil 1 or just like 3D levels you will like this! I made it as detailed as possible though I couldn't do everything I wanted with the glitch. You have to use arrows to use doors that are out of reach sometimes and some stickers wouldn't work with 3D glitched materials. I hope you still like my level though.

To get through this level you have to use your brain. I saw some people trying to use a sticker of an emblem to open a door...
Unfortunately I had to change the path from the game because the mansion is way too big for just one level. It still is easy to manage if you read everything carefully. Every key has it's name and the doors tell you which one you need.

First i have to thank you Chrree, for letting me be your Tester!
I sure had my fun Time, doing this.

Well, it is the best looking, most detailed Residen Evil Level for sure!

As soon as you enter the Entrance Hall, there is this sweet Scent of Nostalgia.
Everything was bulit nearly exactly as it looked like in the original Game on Playstation.
She even paid attention to small things like the Number of chairs
in the diningroom

Due to overheating there are some things missing, such as Music and there are only a few Zombies running around but that doesn't affect the good Resident Evil Atmosphere.

This Level makes you feel like going on a trip back to the
good old times.

5 Stars and a well earned Heart

Really amazing work. I don't think anyone could make a better recreation of the mansion, right down to the speech. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip down memory lane.

There seems to be a problem with Forest's room, the knob just teleports back to the same room instead of back to the hall. I'm going to restart the level and skip that room to see the end.

Actually, that seems to happen at the bottom of the stairs too. I think it's because the checkpoint is too close to where Sackboy dies and it gets reactivated, I managed to get that one to work by grabbing the knob from the other side though.

Forgot to add: 5 S.T.A.R.S. and a <3 obviously.

Thx for the good feedback! ^.^ I hope more people will post how they liked it.

I noticed the problem with the checkpoints but it seems to be the game itself because usually everything works fine and sometime a random checkpoint won't work properly. You just have to try several times.

Hi!
Your level was great, atmosphere, looks and story. It was like I've seen resident evil many years ago.
You used 3D glitch well, place looked great, few zombies were enough, no more really needed. There wasn't much else to it than get a key/sticker go to doors and kill zombies and swing from a chandelier, but it worked. I wish you make sequel soon! Oh, and the zombie-dogs left few scraps of themselves on the floor, but you could evade them. You could have used little less thermo with the rooms next to the stairs, If you had just left the doors open, but I don't mind. gave it 5 stars!
Check out my level Block Industry (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=28983-Block-Industry&p=503047) for F4F when you have time.

Very cool level. Good visuals, nice sound effects.
Best of all I liked the ingenious system you used for recreating the survival horror style. The stickers and arrows work well.
The atmosphere is just right: good recollections of playing the original.

One possible glitch: I got stuck in the room with the fireplace (right after placing the sheetmusic on the piano). The magic mouth can't be read.
Other minor stuff: the sound effects of the dogs remain in place, even after killing them.

If you've got the time for f4f it would be great if you could try my Strange Denizens of Interzone.

Really nice atmosphere at work here, I loved the details and such.

I didn't get to finish though, I had to leave before reaching the end. :<

I really loved your zombies and zombie dogs. Perhaps the best I've seen in the game, very realistic and detailed.

Right, so I played the level!

It was very fun, and slightly spooky. Poor Chris.
I played it once - got very confused and lost ALL my points before I figured out I had to grab the empty drawer. I quit because I had to go, but came back again later and played through the whole thing (with the stickers still in my inventory). I don't suppose the level really has replay value, as you can just head up to the very top and use the helmet sticker to end it. I was quite confused with the keys and such, as I thought I needed an actual sword, helmet, armor, and shield. But I'm not that great with this sort of thing because I don't know much about Resident Evil. It was very well done, and simplistic, but difficult at the same time. The noises coming from behind the door was nice, but I didn't hear them on my first playthrough. Also, Chris's head seems a bit small... Could you enlarge it somewhat?
If you decide to transfer this to LBP2, you should add sackbots - best thing ever. However, you might not be able to work with the 3D glitch, so...
Great job though! A thorough puzzler...
One thing though - it was very frustrating having to go back and forth along a house that isn't realistically THAT big... It kinda made me tired as I walked along the mansion, for like 5 minutes...
Chandeliers were also well done - why was one made with dissolve material as well?

I gave the level 5 stars, a heart, and a tag of "Creepy". Perhaps add some ambient music at some points?

If you have the time, could you please Feedback for Feedback my level, River Rush? The link is in my signature.

I played the level yesterday. I was amazed on how much it actually looked like RE1. Even with the keys and stuff, and the lines of the characters say. I left a comment on the level, 5 stars.2010-06-22 21:53:00

Thank you both!

@Richasackboy
The beheaded guy? That's not Chris. ^^ I better dont change anything about it because everytime I do so lots of cameras and the switch of one door disappears. Unfortunately I can't add anything either because of the thermo. I was planing to add the original background music and one more room but I couldn't.
About the fact that you have to run around that much that is because you have to do that in the game aswell and because that was the only way to make the player see every room.

Nope the last time I could play LBP I was busy with my Final Fantasy VII level. Maybe I won't do it anyway because there are just not enough people interested in my 3D levels.2010-10-23 20:27:00

Wow! I just played this level and lets just say, I was amazed at how amazingly well Resident Evil has been recreated in LBP. The look is dam near perfect bar a few graphical glitches or what not but the look alone is worth of a medal. I know how glitchy the 3D layer glitch can be (oh the irony) and you still managed to nail the whole feel of it so well. I wish the part where he says "It looks like..... blood." lol. But still its was dam great. You even managed to get the classic dogs in there not to mention the overall feel of the Resident Evil puzzles. Congrats on such a fantastic recreation of this classic game on a side scroller.

And I only just noticed a little more irony, my level has absolutely nothing to do with Resident Evil but is called "Resident Raytech". It is a mysterious high tech facility of unknown origins which you must navigate your way out of. My aim was to create one truley unique looking level with technically unique mechanics and contraptions that have not been seen before in LBP. I hope you enjoy. Please leave me some feedback aswell. Thank you.

HUGE level! Just the monstrous size of the mansion dwarfed the details to make the rooms appear bare, but realistically, a real mansion probably would have that much open space. Not sure how far I got, but I didn't finish. My party left me, and I had to go. Made it somewhere upstairs with a piano, everything seemed to work fine and gameplay was intriguing. Will try to play again and finish! Must have taken forever to create! I appreciate the hard work!2010-10-29 20:41:00

Thank you both! It really was a lot of work. It took me at least 2 months to do it. Now that I have more skills and that I know that the 3D glitch works with LBP2 I'm not that happy with my level anymore though. It could be so much better with Sackbots as zombies, without any changes about the mansion, the puzzles or anything else, with level links and the bag you will have in LBP2. Well maybe one day I will change the whole thing and release it for LBP2 again.

@LFiers
I will play it the next time I can play LBP.
