Ship named Lady Luck
I have been doing this level just for fun, I wanted to make a ship and some point it became this.

It has a market, people, a parrot and all kinds of stuff. It took me a long time to make all the characters with edge/corner-tool. And the mechanics how the things work, so I learned much while doing.

So if you like doing something else than just jumping and running all the time you may wanna try this. It has many quests you need to do to finish the level and get to the harbour.

I want to know what you liked about it and what I should improve/change and what's bad about it, with your own words, and I'll return the favor. F4F.

Updates:
I've updated the level now, when I noticed how to remove and replace walls = used emitter to make one and then change location to emit, when player is on the area and wall vanishes. Theres little more updating on that, because I think I should add dark matter to the pieces so it wont move after emited.. so the walls might move a little. But it was a some hard work to make the walls to emit on the right spot.
Also more updates where that people don't ask to do the quests after they've been done.
Also added more small things here and there and made you a little fishing rod that has random outcome.

Also I was thinking doing bigger ship on the LBP2 tools. I have already ideas popping of my head.

I thought the whole "quest" concept was cool. I had a hard time figuring out what to do though, and it wasn't really that fun. The visuals could've been a lot better for how small the level is. It could be a great level with a little improvement visually and a little more obvious solutions to the quests.

Yeah. I need to push my limits bit more I guess
and yes the quests are bit tricky, but there's characters who are saying some bit of what to do or insinuate, I guess I need to make it little more clearer.

Okay so, in my notes I put that

Likes
-I thought that getting the player involved in the story was really cool and it was fun throwing the parrot off board lol
-very creative story line
-funny characters

Dislikes
-on the lower decks everytime you jump the wall covering the shops always pops up even though you don't want to go inside the shop
-you need to make the objectives clearer at some points I didn't know what to do in the story

suggestions
-maybe put a sensor switch right infront of the doors in the shops so that it would know when the player would want to go in

overall rating 3/5 stars

Yeah the walls are a bit problem, getting them work how I wanted, so I just putted sensors all the way on both lower decks. I might do it little different if I figure out how..2010-06-21 09:57:00

It's some time ago I last time played LBP, but I came back and I already preordered LBP2 while waiting that I updated the level a little bit; by adding tips section to the INFO-room, that should help with the quests that you need to do. And then I added some "bubblescreenslides" or what ever you wanna call them to make it easier to know when quest is done. Little more little improvements I made were: I made one guy dancing in the Bar -that one who askes to you to dance.(but you dont really need to, but you can) then I added some lights, made the flower-signboar moving and made the harbour more appealing. It's still pretty much the same level, but please check it out and tell me what you liked and what I could add, I have 20-35% left on the thermo if I remember right. Also when LBP2 comes I'm gonna change those sack-cardboards to sackbots! It's gonna be awesome and I maybe could add more to the harbour if I get more thermo by then with the new mechanics. Also I'm writing this from my PS3 (with keyboard of course)
PS. Oh I forgot to mention the wall system I have If anyone have better way to do it give me a hint please!

here's your feedback!!11:
+for some reason I'm already interested in the level, just starting. it seems like it's going to have a different format than most levels
-when you go down/up the stairs on the left this boat shaped flat piece of material shoots up or down through the middle of the ship.
-after going on a bit i noticed it was the walls to the rooms moving out of the way so you can see into the room. this is a really cool idea, but poorly executed. i think it would look much better if you made the front wall for each room a separate piece so the whole ship didn't get exposed when you went into any room.
-frequent spelling and grammatical errors. i don't tend to be picky about this but it does kind of bring down the quality of the level
-characters still ask you to solve their problems even when you already have
+the ending was cool
+the whole level concept was cool, i had fun!

for F4F, please play ginormo burger. thanks!

I completed this here level. I like quest levels with humor, and you had fun. Good boat, the detail on the wall was well done. I have to agree with others, only having part of it move instead of the whole section may be better, you could also havethe wall sections emitted and dissolvable where if the player is there the prox dissolves the wall, if they are not the prox set to invert emits a new wall. The idea of a hint book was good, but it was a bit awkward to get it to work, the lag made me let go a few times not realizing I had done it. The people's quests were funny, but adding a finished part to each could make it a bit better, like the lady jumpping after the flowers, or the flower lady saying you already got flowers, beat it!. Adding more details to the top level of the ship and a few other areas of it could help too, it was a well done ship, but you could have made it more real looking.I was happy to pwn everyone elses score, but it was a little easy, no dangers so to speak. If you had a lower deck you could make it a little plaforming puzzle with some danger to turn on the engine, or add some pirates...but that is not needed at all, just thinking out load. Good level, keep up the good work, I could use feed back on any of my levels, but you may like "OK Choice" or "Ok Murder Mystery on the Mississippi Express" because they are also story or boat themed levels.2011-01-14 08:30:00
