Score board detaching

Archive: 4 posts

Hey folks!

Am really hoping you can help me with this one! Am currently in the final stages of building a new level, and ideally, I would like the score board to come down, when sackboy is standing on the base. However, I can't see how to detach the screen of the score board from its base. Any ideas? Have tried corner tool, trying the delete the base etc, but just can't seem to do it!

Any ideas are welcome, and thanks in advance to those of you who do reply!

There are several ways. You can crush it but what I find easiest is to change the material to dissolve ( You can only change the material of the base by the way and not the scoreboard itself ) and attach a one shot switch to it. I personally put an inverted grab switch on the dissolve base because then as soon as you unpause, the base and the switch disappear and you can pause again immediately so that method is good if you need to do it in the level. You don't actually need the base at all.2010-06-17 11:21:00

Additional info: You know that you can resize scoreboards (as (almost) any object) when you use an emitter? Capture the object, put an emitter somewhere, and while choosing an object to be emitted (the scoreboard in this case) you can change its size and where it should be emitted. In the emitter tweak menu, set the lifetime to infinity (curiously thats "smaller than zero"), let it emitt once and capture your new resized scoreboard.

A bottomless sb can be put in any of the three thick layers, but Sackboy will only be able to trigger if it's in the middle or back. One that is in the front layer will be passed by behind and not end the level.
