Archive: 4 posts

I am making a level all revolving around rusty metal but i could use a story so any ideas?
Also I need some help with traps i.e like the ones on Fort Sugar or the doors that move up when you step near them.
One last thing whenever i put a sensor switch on direction none lf my other pistons work!

The first story that comes to mind is that a fleet of invading alien cat food cans are attempting to take over the planet. It is discovered the only defense against these Cylinders of Smelly Gelatinous Death is to spray them with pickle juice, thus rusting the seals and exposing their meaty innards to the unforgiving environment of Earth's unstoppable army of discount chain stores. Unfortunately, the gherkin solution that is so effective against the unidentifiable fishy invaders has also served to disable Earth's last line of land-based defense: the shopping cart. Yes, but some stores use plastic carts! I knew you were going to bring that up. In reality, said carts are often disabled by subtle yellow lines painted coyly in parking lots, thus rendering them 3-wheeled and useless on the harsh battle grounds of the northern African desert, where most of the action is taking place. All of Earth depends on you, Sackboy, to find a remedy to the situation, and as the level progresses you discover the Ultimate Weapon - the electric can opener! This fearsome rotary device not only features a 6' cord, but it also has the ability to rend those heartless alien cat food cans in twain, causing the Frisky intergalactic travelers to quake in fear lest their lids be severed cruelly from their economically ribbed cylinder walls. In a surprise twist, the sound of this rusty metallic carnage awakens Earth's greatest ally: the sleeping hoards of ravenous stray cats keen on suppers of liver-infused alien meat byproducts.

So that's my story idea. I know it all must seem terribly obvious, but sometimes it's best to stick to the basics.
