Does anyone leave any unfinished levels?

Archive: 13 posts

Ugh. I keep making levels, I make some good progress, but I just cannot bring myself to finish them. No matter how hard I try, I just can't finish and move on to something else.

Does anyone feel the same?

Ha, I have the solution for you!! Check out my most recent level, it's created by taking all the bits and pieces of stuff left un-finished or abandoned and cramming it into a single level. Wiping the slate clean was very liberating.

I struggle to finish a level also. I get some great work done and then i just get a new idea and continue off of that, and then again and again and again. But I've made an actual good lvl or so say my friends i think its decently good and they keeping bugging me to work and finish it. Surprisingly I'm nearing the end of it so that's good but just try to focus on completing the level idea. Friend me we can keep bothering each other to finish our lvls2010-06-16 22:33:00

Oh yes. I have a few unfinished levels..and most of my moon is full of spare parts warehouses, just in case I need the parts for other levels.2010-06-17 03:57:00

I've always published my levels while they're still "unfinished", I do it for feedback & testing, to see what does & doesn' t work, I'll even publish different versions of the same level to see which one works better. Also, yeah, I published a level which doesn't have an ending & I haven't worked on it in months but it has a scoreboard, so if people reach it they'll get some sense of closure. Anyhow I'll force myself to create an ending for it as soon as I finish adding exploding/pooping birds & sunken ships to my other level.2010-06-21 16:35:00

I've got more unfinished levels than finished ones. After a while I just end up deleting them. :/2010-06-21 17:16:00

I think I have about 7 levels published (I'm not sure, they all suck so I don't care for them...) and about... let's see... this many (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiMHTK15Pik) level ideas scrapped or deleted...
I have forced myself to finish some of my levels, although only two of them are not survival challenges... Those are "Yellow" (way too short with a lame story) and my newest level, "The Awakening of the Pynie (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=28958-The-Awakening-of-the-Pynie-%28available-for-testing%29)" which I don't even call finished because I'm going to delete most of it and redo everything...

I have a level that is exactly one year old. I work on it maybe once a month. I am going to finish it before lbp2 comes out, I swear. (maybe not. )2010-06-21 19:44:00
