I'm definitely looking forward to this. Coupled with the announcement that Steamworks will be on PS3 and will support Portal 2, I'm just giddy with excitement. I love Valve and the way they treat their PC community, but the fact that the consoles are inherently "locked-down" means they are fairly absent on that side of things. Now they're going to be able to release patches and updates (read: lots of free and cheap game content) to the PS3 just like they do the PC. I can't wait.2010-06-21 09:57:00

I am very excited for Portal 2 but I think the PS3 Steam announcement is the best part. Especially since I can buy it for my PS3, Steam will see that I own it, and then I can download it on my computer too... amazing!2010-06-23 08:31:00

Ohhh, I can't wait for this. I loved the first game, along with the credit song XD Best song ever. The cake might not be a lie after all. I am hoping for an online multiplayer shooting function, because I would find that quite interesting.
You do not have any guns, else than the portal emitter. It would lead to quite an interesting battle, where you must use the environment all the time. A booby trap so someone falls down to their death in some fiery water? Laser trap? Bots placed nicely on those irritating places? I would love it.		2010-06-26 22:28:00

i believe that a valve developer once said that portal multiplayer "is'nt as fun as you might think".
if you watch the video they tell you that in co-op you will be able to see from the other players perspective and you can place markers so that they see where to place a portal.		2010-06-27 07:42:00

Portal 1 is about you "chell" trying to complete a series of test chambers with the help of the portal gun, a physics bending device that creates portals for you to go through.
there to "help" you during the tests are the passive-agressive computer GlaDos that at first seems quite nice but then tries to kill you.

Portal 2 is set 100 years after portal 1 where Chell is waken up from cryo-sleep by a personality sphere called wheatly. he/it wants to explore the facility but cant because all the spheres travel with rails in the roof. he therefore wakes up chell so that she can help him to get down. together they travel through the facility, accidentaly waking up glados and being put through a series of new tests while glados is rebuilding the facility.		2010-06-29 08:39:00

So the updates come straight from valve at their press of a button. I doesn't have to go through Sony or something along the lines of that?

for all of you thats interested, valve is currently releasing hi-def videos of the segments we saw in the E3 demo.
as of today theres one with wheatly, one with aerial faith plates, one with the excursion tunnel (asbestos), and one with the lasers.
