Is that a Mm level or a Creator Jam level? It is very impressive...
I still need to look at the other pictures though.

I dunno, but by viewing all these other pictures, I'm beginning to think Mm has embraced the 3D Layer glitch to its fullest....Just go through all those IGN pictures and focus on the backgrounds (more so the Mm levels, and not the Jam levels).2010-06-16 02:31:00

They don't use the glitches. I'm not sure where you are looking but none of the MM levels have the extra layer glitch. As I posted elsewhere, that starfighter thing shown above is all 1 single thin layer. And that was a MM level

I don't mean glitching. I was basically thinking that maybe they made it an official tool that we can use without having to glitch. I get the idea from this picture...

...because of the cupcakes and cookies on the pan (edit: or doily I guess lol). They're objects that were previously shown as objects we can place (well the cookie was in the racing portion of the trailer), which makes me wonder. They seem a bit too far back in the distance to be the back most thin layer, but chances are it's just the actual background, or I'm going insane and it's closer than I think. It just seems odd for cookies/cupcakes to be vertical in the background.

Is this blue thing SCROLLING towards us? Would it make old school racing games like Outrun doable???????

I guess the blue thing is scrolling. I don't know how detailed the scrolling part it could be though, it may have to just stick to holographic stuff.

Wait! I had an idea, I hear material can expand, so just make a material with a semi-V shaped road sticker on it. Emit it small at the top of the screen, then let the material expand when it goes toward the bottom of the screen to give the appearance of moving on the road. I don't know what the limitations of the expanding material are though, and I'm not sure if this could work.

That's how johnee's thing works. It'll probably look weird with anything but holographs though, or maybe not, IDK. turning corners is going to be an issue. And the expand time is fixed, AFAIK, at around 0.3s, so you are going to be pretty limited.
