This is my first level I have ever published and I hope everyone who plays it enjoys it! I will admit that some parts of this level, particularly the beginning, are kind of difficult; so if you like a challenge, I'd recommend this level for you! I would appreciate any feedback (preferably kind) and I would especially like to hear about any bugs or problems you have had with the level.

Also, because this is an F4F level, I am willing to play and give you feedback on any level you should recommend to me.

Thanks!

Cool first level. You implemented a lot of great mechanisms that worked exactly as they should. I know you said, both here and in the level description, that the level is not meant for "noobs," but some of the quick moving obstacles were just a little frustrating. I too was very guilty of making obscenely difficult obstacles in my first few levels (Level 1-1 and The Glorious Matter Transformation) but was able to eventually learn how to make challenging levels that weren't overly difficult.

Overall again great first attempt! It seemed near the end that the level was kind of empty and was just a lot of running and stairs...El Guero no likey stairs. Oh, and the flashing red light...got just a tad annoying. Maybe make it so it doesn't get completely pitch black as it flashes because it nearly gave me a seizure. I would say on you next level just try and fill the level with something to do at all times. Make a ton of obstacles/puzzles and connect them with simple pits to jump over so that the player always has something to do.

While my levels are not the best in the LBP world, going through my levels you can clearly see an evolution in my level creating. My early levels sucked or were way too hard. Check them out or just take a look at my latest, and very challenging, level - Motion Instigation 2.

Thanks for the advice! Actually on the flashing light part at the end, I've heard other complaints about that before so I think I will go adjust the environmental controls there. And I will admit that towards the end of the level I was struggling to keep the thermometer from overheating and really just wanted to get the level finished which is why I didn't really implement any major obstacles or puzzles.

I played a few of your levels and it interested me to see how much your level creating abilities improved with time. Motion Instigation 2 was very enjoyable and I loved the feel and environment of the level, very fitting music if you ask me. I also found it to be very clean and good looking. The challenges were surmountable and very fun, too! Good Level.

Well just to let anyone else who might be reading this know, I am willing to play any others levels in exchange for comments or advice on mine. I hope to create other levels in the future, too; hopefully at least before LBP2 comes out and hopefully many after that!

Also, could someone tell me how to put screenshots on here or at least put some on here for me? Any help would be appreciated.2010-06-19 19:21:00

Take a photo with the in-game LBP camera, then find it in your popit, press square and select 'Export to HDD'. Close Littlebigplanet, and from the PS3 menu, go to pictures - (whatever the date is) - and you'll see the picture. From there, you can copy it to a usb flash drive of some sort, then onto your computer. Once on, go to the galley, and selct create album. You can upload the picture to there. Then justy copy the URL of the picture into you post and surround it with IMG tags, like this: http://www.examplephotourl.com/examplephoto. If you don't have a flash drive, I think you can upload directly using the PS3 browser, but i'm not sure.2010-06-20 16:32:00

Typing this while playing - so sorry if it's a little disjointed.

As I enter the level looks promising - However there is a a flaw in the first speech bubble. It says "This is the factory where world destructive devices are being made" - This could either be "worlds most destructive" or "world destroying" - But as it stands it makes little sense.

Heading across the rolling platform section only one thing bugs me. The difference between the speeds of the obstacles and the platforms is too great. This means you'll spend too much time on each section simply waiting for the the platform to move far enough so you can actually get past the obstacle. I would either speed the platforms (a lot of work) or slow the obstacles.

Love the section the the electrified bars moving left and right btw.

The checkpoint on the lift section isn't fixed so it rolls when the lift moves. In fact it rolled into the path of the lever and stoped my from moving it - Had to restart. Seeing as there is a checkpoint on the lift you should consider using a permanent switch to move it. elevators you have to move yourself or clumsy at best.

Paintinator section is fine.

Onto the belt with the stompers now. Please remove the photobooth. Not only does it give you a sticker you don't really want - I jerks your camera angle at a bad time. When you need to concentrate on a fast moving task the last thing you need to to have your eyes taken off it.

On the next section the spikes are missing from the middle layer on the fire creating machine. This allowed me to climb up into the switches - Which I guess you don't want

The key is also visible on this machine.

Onto the explosive drop section. Consider synchronising this better. Atm the drops were rather random and at one point I even had 3 explosives in one space - no possible way to avoid it. Possibly make the explosives grabale so the person can move them out of the way if this happens.

Loved the section with the blocks moving left and right.

Could do with a better camera angle on the next section with the fire cubes moving up and down. Can hardly see any of them. I would also allow more time to escape this one. It's hard for the sake of being hard - Which is always bad. It's more luck than skill.

I like the section on the grab-balls. Very creative.

At the bottom there suddenly seems to be a total lack of detail. everything turns into bland solid blocks of material. Please tone down that light...gah - My poor eyes.

a pointlessly long corridor. Consider spicing it up with some sound effects to make it seem like the factory is collapsing. Lots more running..and even more running...*sigh*

This clashes seriously with the fast paced nature of the rest of the level. Running in a straight line while little happens isn't the best design. The stairs were rather hard to climb. Not only were they hard to see due to the lights - But the stage jittered making it hard to jump.

The ending however was well made - A good sense of destruction and very atmospheric.

Please take the fire off the scoreboard though... Thats just silly. Also think about lightening the scene.

---------------------------

All and all not a bad first attempt. The obstacles in the first section need smoothing out. Mainly building a good rhythm to the level. I would consider a major rework of the last section - It's incredibly dull compared to the first. All you do is run in the dark.

Consider adding some points as well for people to aim for - Final score:

:star::star::star:

Would have given it 4 but the ending really spoiled the whole experience for me.

Hi! I Played your level this morning. It was much of an challenge me because I was slumberous at mornings. But managed to finish it many tries. And it was pretty hard! not the hardest I've had, but goes in the same category. You used well moving elements and some sounds and lights. Oh Lights! They were really disrupting at the end!
Looks of level were simple, you could add more to it. gave it 4/5 stars. Check out my level Block Industry (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=28983-Block-Industry&p=503047) for F4F.

Am I the only one that wasn't bothered by the flashing lights? lol But I can see that it's an issue with many people, so I'd suggest toning down the lighting or just use some different lighting that can still make sense in such a frantic scene.

- I had this same exact issue. I didn't like that I had to restart because the checkpoint rolled into the switch. Glue it to the platform or something.

The level is okay, yes, very difficult, but passable. It felt really empty at times, though. The part with the blocks of fire moving left and right was also a little difficult, I managed to make it down without having to grab the sponge. >_> The scoreboard at the end shouldn't be all fire, either.

:star::star::star: Not too bad, the idea was good and the execution was fair. Some of the issues multiple people have had could be worked out.
