Here's an overview of everything from today's presentation on LBP2.

So now we have competitive scoring! Awesome.
There is obviously in top-down view, I believe the cameras are very advanced now.
The create-iniator is a hat that emits any object, and has custom controls. So this is the magic glove?
There is a competitive camera mode where every person gets their own camera!
They invited people to the MM office, and gave them a day to create a bunch of amazing crap. (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=28709-Community-Game-Jam-2010&p=497557#post497557)
The story mode will have multiple types of levels.
Advanced AI.
Strategy-game demonstration.
Gravity control shown for first time.

So this is what they showed in 2 minutes, imagine what they'll show tomorrow in 20 minutes. The competitive story and cameras are going to help a LOT.

So now we have competitive scoring!

What does that mean? Isn't scoring already competetive?

Awesome! Where was this posted? I take it that it was a video? Can you post a link?

Competitive scoring, as in everybody has a separate score.
This was all said during the LBP2 demo at E3.

(BTW mods, if you see this, should this be a separate topic or will it be merged? this is just to discuss the new features talked about)

It seems that they've added a LOT of stuff to accomodate minigames.

Btw, can I steal your LBP2 sig? I'm just as excited as you are.

Psychadelic 3d shooter. (at the 5min mark) *drool*

The backdrop looked 3d as if the camera had been put on its side... but the objects looked like they were moving in a single layer, so I'm betting the backdrop was a visual trick. Still, flying vehicle with an aimable reticule is freakin' awesome!

And the mover tool is exactly what I've been expecting. When I saw the big grabber in the announcement trailer, I figured it wasn't actually being moved by the arm, but that it had its own independent mover and that the arm was just there for show. That would be how the flying and top down vehicles work too. It'll be awesome for top down mechs!

Good eye yup, you can set the time allowed in the direct control seat and you can set it to just end the game without dying.2010-06-15 22:31:00

I've got a part in my level where you have to move rather far across the level, but there's no way to do it without killing the player... Would there be a way to do this without a DCS and have them appear at a checkpoint rather than the scoreboard?2010-06-15 23:19:00
