First Person Shooter - FPS Project
Archive: 39 posts
As you may have seen in this thread: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=28320-Layer-Glitch-Weapon-quot-3D-quot I started by making a layer glitched weapon, then I eventually built a way to control it like first person, and I am now in progress of making something like an actual level. You can see what I've done so far by checking out my newest level FPS - WIP1. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn65/warlord_evil/M16FPS.jpg This is an in-game screen shot with the standard camera tool. I managed to build screen effects by simply placing glass over the view of the player, and I also finally managed to hide the giant box the player hides in (and it was such an obvious solution). | 2010-06-13 01:37:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
Oh my goodness, that is amazing! This reminds me of Jagrevi's Ama Toor Project using that completely new view. | 2010-06-13 02:00:00 Author: Dragonvarsity Posts: 5208 |
haha that screenshot is hilarious. ill be curious to see what you do with this creative tool | 2010-06-13 02:50:00 Author: DarkSeraphim666 Posts: 96 |
This is going great! I managed to make the screen blur when I shoot! (It's really just the camera moving, and when it moves over glass, which the HUD is made of of, it blurs.) | 2010-06-13 04:17:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
Pure amazement and very cool how you keep it updated here. Thx | 2010-06-13 04:22:00 Author: Xario Posts: 238 |
Absolutely amazing. I think by the time you perfect this and LB2 rolls around...we'll have the msot popular FPs ever XD | 2010-06-13 04:22:00 Author: Unknown User |
Until you see Qugz' level... | 2010-06-13 20:34:00 Author: BasketSnake Posts: 2391 |
It looks amazing, but the movement is kinda annoying and clunky. Your guy hardly moves where you want him too. I don't think you can fully flesh this out though if the gun is 3 layers + glitch layers as you can't make elaborate enemies and scenery D: I'm sure you could make a gun with 1 layer + 2 thin layers with a bit of perspective trickery. Also, the black border around the gun mucks up alot and sometimes covers the whole screen or jerks around in random directions. The triangle to aim thing is genius though and the shooting effect is spectacular. | 2010-06-13 20:57:00 Author: Unknown User |

Sorry about the movement, that's my biggest problem at the moment, pistons are acting wonky. If I make him move any faster, then the pistons could mess up even more, but I haven't tried yet. The gun never goes into the background layers, I can add a full layer glitched background and enemies if I wanted. Enemies are the hard part though, I can't use creature brains for them (creature brains seem to break in the glitch layers), and dissolve seems to be the only solution. I have a few ideas to try for game play though. Until you see Qugz' level... I'll try to look at it! | 2010-06-13 22:13:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
Well, since you use glitch layers, why not use glitch material, i.e. dissolvables? (We're just talking about it (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=28554-Materials-with-different-properties&p=494914#post494914) with level tips if you need some advice on this) On the other side, the creature brains could probably stay in regular layers, linked via zero strength elastic. | 2010-06-13 23:05:00 Author: Xario Posts: 238 |
Ok, this looks pretty sick. I swear, this community makes the most amazing stuff! I'll most def. check this out after football practice tomorrow. I think this thread pretty much wraps up my day. (: | 2010-06-14 05:33:00 Author: Mastadom Posts: 195 |

Holy .... I first thought that pic was from an FPS game, but after reading the text I realised it was made in LBP! Great job warlord | 2010-06-14 15:24:00 Author: Alec Posts: 3871 |
I tried doing this,I failed horribly though... | 2010-06-14 16:50:00 Author: AbstractFlesh Posts: 837 |
Wow, that looks really cool. I need to see it in a full level... Like ummm now! Haha! | 2010-06-14 18:48:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
I liked the scope in FPS-WIP1 and the dual SMGs in FPS Experiment 2. Can you see if you can make a bolt-action sniper rifle, just a thought. | 2010-06-14 23:16:00 Author: AbstractFlesh Posts: 837 |
Hmm if you want an aiming-down-the-sights system try these http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f2/Open_sight_pictures.png The gray circle represents the target | 2010-06-14 23:47:00 Author: agrx Posts: 192 |
Subscribed to thread, because this seems really interesting | 2010-06-15 07:14:00 Author: Alec Posts: 3871 |
I just had a look at the levels: AWESOME! You really forget you play LBP! Are you having something in mind like an eleborate moorhuhn (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moorhuhn) playstyle, or say rail shooter? it could lead to quite a fun level to play, with some cinematic effects I could easily imagine some cool black ops story. besides its generall visual greatness. Oh and your beach is really beautyful and has a total different atmosphere than the caribean theme itself. Great work there as well. | 2010-06-15 08:47:00 Author: Xario Posts: 238 |
Hey, just played it, and dayum it didn't even feel like I was playing lbp! one thing that bothered me was the moving was a little stiff, but great concept /eagerly waits for level | 2010-06-15 09:50:00 Author: agrx Posts: 192 |
Until you see Qugz' level... I looked, and I found that he's the creator of those Maxed Out levels, all of which I have played. What should I be looking for? | 2010-06-15 18:35:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
I looked, and I found that he's the creator of those Maxed Out levels, all of which I have played. What should I be looking for? I think he's saying he say one of Qugz wips or something | 2010-06-15 19:40:00 Author: Unknown User |
I looked, and I found that he's the creator of those Maxed Out levels, all of which I have played. What should I be looking for? He often talks in riddles, I'm guessing qugs is doing something similar to you in an upcoming level. | 2010-06-15 20:14:00 Author: Kern Posts: 5078 |
We'll, we will see about that... http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn65/warlord_evil/KILLZONE.jpg | 2010-06-15 22:48:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
We'll, we will see about that... http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn65/warlord_evil/KILLZONE.jpg No way that that gun is made in LBP. Looks so realistic | 2010-06-15 23:05:00 Author: Alec Posts: 3871 |

If that Killzone gun was made in Little Big Planet then Warlord_Evil get my vote for most advanced Little Big Planet creator! | 2010-06-29 10:52:00 Author: Unknown User |
If that Killzone gun was made in Little Big Planet then Warlord_Evil get my vote for most advanced Little Big Planet creator! Huzzah! But then you'd be wrong, I've seen really advanced stuff before. Insane stuff. | 2010-06-29 17:54:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
Same but this takes the cake.... Unless the cake is a lie. | 2010-06-29 19:43:00 Author: Unknown User |
Rather than making long tedious levels, I think I'll just make multiple small ones. -Killzone -Minigun -Sniping? | 2010-06-29 20:36:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
Rather than making long tedious levels, I think I'll just make multiple small ones. -Killzone -Minigun -Sniping? Sniping would be epic, sitting on the roof tops and shooting stuff down on the ground | 2010-06-29 20:52:00 Author: Alec Posts: 3871 |
Nice gun, but it looks like you used all the 3 layers. It's going to be hard and tedious doing anything worthwhile using the "layer glitch". I'm planning to make a FPS in LBP2, so I think you have a competitor on your hands. Here's the link to my idea. https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=29758-SWAT-First-Person-shooter&p=516119#post516119 | 2010-07-05 04:05:00 Author: PPp_Killer Posts: 449 |
https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=29877-Minigun-FPS (http://www.lbpcentral.com/showthread.php?29877-Minigun-FPS) Simple level out. | 2010-07-06 08:37:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
UPDATE: I made a FPS template level, all you have to do is follow the directions. | 2010-07-12 04:02:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
Love it, love it, love it. Love it. Did I say I love it? Oh, I meant to say I love it. Waiting on easily the most epic KZ2 level ever. | 2010-07-12 06:07:00 Author: nitewalker11 Posts: 222 |
