Hey, I just waned to know if it's possible to make an object not collide with another object? Like the tool in Garry's Mod 10 if any of you are familiar with that. Daniel :star: | 2010-06-11 16:49:00 Author: Unknown User |

Could you explain more throughly for those who have never played or have no idea what Garry's mod is? I mean with that info i could just answer to just place the objects in different planes and they won't collide with each other. | 2010-06-11 17:31:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Well, it's a little bit more complicated than just placing the objects in different planes. I want the objects to like pass each other. For instance, one cannon ball is shot from both the left and the right side. Normally, they would collide and explode but I want them to fly through each other (without changing the plane). Sorry for the bad explanation. English is not my native language. By the way, if you like the concept of LBP you should definitely buy/try Garry's Mod! | 2010-06-11 17:42:00 Author: Unknown User |
I think paint balls and plasma can go through each other... But that's about it. | 2010-06-11 18:47:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
that was a perfect explanation. as for the question, i'm not sure if you can. it sounds like like you might be interested in the compression tool. it might not be exactly what you want but that's all i've got! | 2010-06-11 18:48:00 Author: trip090 Posts: 1562 |
As far as we know, you can't have solid objects passing through each other without breaking. The compression tool lets you merge objects, but they have to be attached with dark matter to keep them there. Gas, paintballs and plasma can pass through each other, but they're the only things that don't collide with stuff. | 2010-06-11 20:51:00 Author: Holguin86 Posts: 875 |
Oh well, thanks for the answers anyway . I'll just hope and pray for such a tool will be available in LBP2. Close the topic if needed. | 2010-06-12 00:46:00 Author: Unknown User |

Many objects can simply be glued together and they'll stay there. Other objects, such as explosives, will not glue together. What can be done however is you can use a piece of material and glue the objects that can't usually be glued together to it. To make my Cliched Exploding Red Barrel (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=25906-The-Clich?d-Exploding-Red-Barrel-(Now-with-Pic)) I used the compression tool to merge 3 missile heads. I then made a piece of invisible dissolve to glue them all together. As for the question in the original post, I think a heard about some glitch where sackboy could or objects could pass through a certain material. I don't remember where i read it though | 2010-06-12 03:43:00 Author: SR20DETDOG Posts: 2431 |
There are "dead" materials that sackboy can walk through: they're just materials killed by a creature brain but glitched so that they won't disappear. The glitch has been patched, but you can get ahold of some from before the patch. I haven't looked, but I'm sure there are levels that have some given as prizes. Unfortunately, other objects and materials will still collide with dead materials and they re-solidify if you material change them. There is a trick to de-solidify any material or object so that other materials can pass through it. Unfortunately, the guy who discovered it hasn't revealed it yet, but I was talking to him earlier and he said he's planning on making a showcase level that explains the glitch and gives away the tool to accomplish it. It has a caveat, though: it sticks in the air like dark matter, so you won't be able to shoot two bombs at each other and have them pass through. | 2010-06-12 04:02:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |
