You know Aya's tutorial (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=23874-How-To-Recreate-The-3D-Layer-Glitch#post414086)? One of the Logic pack guys (comphy or rtm) has published a copyable level which could be described as a showcase collection for dozens of fore-and background layers.2010-06-10 01:23:00

Well, after reading Ayas tut, using those layer objects is rather easy, but a pain in the *** since you must select that layer object, deselect it without closing the poppit, choose whatever you want to place in that layer and create it. Your abilities to move stuff through the layers (or may I dare say expand something a few layers after its creation) is very limited. Stuff that isn't glued to DM tends to act buggy sometimes, especially connectors and moving things. Just keep in mind, that all foreground layers (including hoverlayer)- and all background layers (including the regular back thin layer) count each with as one collision-wise.

That's actually all that is to know about it. If you never happen to shout: "Oh now, I didn't mean to move it ALL a layer" (which basically means you have to start from scratch with this object) you're my hero.

Well... i know warlord_evil is AMAZING at using 3D tools, just check out his latest background, The Desolation Background (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=27958-The-Desolation-Background&highlight=desolation) I guess you could try to ask him to help you, i'm not if he'll have time xD2010-06-10 02:27:00

Assuming this isn't just a theory of yours, if you have actually solved the problem of the back and foreground layers occupying the same space when not DM'd in place then you shouldn't really be asking us for help...

We should be asking you

@DM666: I presume a careful level redesign, like: "Huh, for that other reason it's actually better if the vehicle is in the reguar play area. Wow, that solves my would-be-problem with glitch layers. By avoiding it. Elegant and cool."

No offence :-D

i want an army of mechs to ocupy rows of 2, since they take up 3 layers, they will be in the glitched layers, i somewhat know how to accomplish this, im just not good with 3d.

i know a trick for moving in 3d's, because part of it isnt in 3d, AND its not really going to move, it'll be an illusion

anyway i might ask warlord, even though hes more of a design 3d user

Your best bet is to create everything in normal space, and then move the final object into glitch space with a simple emitter trick. Building stuff in glitch space is a huge pain in the butt. If you don't know the emitter trick, you should be able to research it easy enough in the tutorials forum. Alternatively, feel free to add me and I'll show you.2010-06-10 17:07:00
