so the problem is: i have extreme lag if i join someone elses game/pod/create mode and everyone else have lag when they join my game/pod/create mode. i have wired connection and my connections and signal strenghts are great. so is it something to do with lbp servers?

Most likely....No, I have had a strange experience where my friend and I both had excellent, connection yet, i couldn't join, him...Maybe your connection is interfering some how some way with others connection..?

Depends on how far the people you play with and how good/ bad their connection is. You may have great connection, but if they live on the other side of the world, or thei have terrible cnnection yer gonna lag A LOT. Also it seems a wired connection will reduce/ stop lag, so that may help some. Hope that helps!

so is it something to do with lbp servers? No. The game utilises a peer-to-peer system, so you're effectively bypassing the LBP servers, and connecting directly to the other person. i have a wired connection alredy and i live in finland and my friend lives in england so its not that far away... If you believe your connection is okay, that would suggest the problem may lie with the person you're connecting to. If you happen to have the IP address of the other person, and a 'traceroute' program, you can determine exactly where in the routing chain the latency is occurring.

i played yesterday with one of my friends via online and it didnt lag. and strangest part in this is that i swapped my wired connection to wireless O.o maybe you have a bad wire? are you useing the PS3 network test tool or something else? Also do you have multiple things trying to use the internet at the same time (multiple computers, cable box, some aplliances self diagnostic even some cars now too O_o) Depending on what service you have may also effect your speed as more people in your area go online. I know that my D-link router sometimes has issues with our 2-wire modem.
