A Call to Arms!

What do you do when you see an injustice being perpetrated on a daily basis?

Would you be happy to stand by and watch as selfish individuals destroy a beautiful gaming experience?

Are the seeds of LBP2s destruction being sewn before it is even released?

If you are indifferent to these questions then please don't waste your time by reading further, But if you have a passion for LBP and care about its future join in a proactive campaign that is launching from today onwards. Rather than whine about the ignorant egocentric vandalism of the cool pages by attention seeking sociopaths use the tools available to everyone. From today and for the next two weeks hit the good grief button on every level published by these sad individuals, who are undeserving of the title creator:Clay_november,X-3 and stephanie_Ravens.
If all 20 of their level slots are moderated then they will not be able to spam, hack and troll the cool pages corrupting and destroying the fun for all the real creators out there! If MM recieve a sufficient amount of reports they may actually take action. Lets see if honest sacks can make a difference? Friend networks, clans, forums, fan sites, individuals.

Is it right to do this? Well you can see a lot of copyright issues and offensive content in their work. And it is obvious they have no care and considertaion for anyone else. Thousands of players gaming experience has been tainted and more disturbingly, all the new creators who come to LBP will think the standard of these levels and conduct of these individuals is the norm on LBP. Do we really want this behaviour to carry over to LBP2?

And if your attitude is one of indifference, meh, a shrug of the shoulders...then thats fine, head of to the level showcase while there are still playable creative levels, but there are people out there who have a passion for LBP and care about it with all their heart.

Are the cool levels even that messed up - honestly I don't know because I don't even bother visiting them!!

Why can't people learn that even if you get rid of these it's only going to be replaced by H4H, bomb survival or something else that you don't want to play. I have no idea how many times I'll have to say this:

The Cool Levels are broken now. Have always been broken. And will not be fixed for a long time

Beyond the forums (where the most fanatical sacks reside) there are thousands of other players whose behaviour is being influenced by what they see. Fine if you don't visit the cool pages but new comers do and they use the cool pages. This is where they form their early impressions of what LBP is and how people behave. If you don't try to take a proactive step then nothing will change. If these individulas are stopped then we may see the return of some survivals or h4h levels but they have never been as bad as they are now, and with these crapulent levels deleted a ray of sunshine, a worthy level may have a slightly better chance of climbing to the front pages to show what LBP should be.2010-06-08 18:56:00

I would advise people not to attempt this, IF there's nothing in these levels which is against the rules.

By making what are effectively false "Good Grief" reports, you may find that you're the ones who will get your accounts suspended for abusing the system.

As for LBP2, for all we know, it may not even have a "Cool Levels" system, so it doesn't seem worth panicking people about that until more has been announced.

Just corrected that for you.

What if I just made a well made survival level, placed the names of all the LBPC spotlighted levels in it, then spam published it?2010-06-08 19:13:00

If you check the levels you can find a lot of copyright protected materials and offensive pics uploaded. The good grief reports are with substance and reason. If enough are recieved MM will take action.
Not a question of panic more a question of a little forthought. LBP2 will have links to LBP content so it will have some bearing.

then you, sir, would be brilliant. i don't mind well made survivals but the aweful copied ones that cover the cool pages are so depressing to look at, almost soul crushing. if you made a good one and got it up there with all the keys to the good levels you know (not just spotlighted), it might be a little ray of hope.

I have no idea if this is right, but I remember hearing that everyone else would have a different "cool levels" page, tailored to what types of levels they usually play. Now THAT would fix all of this

There are some fantastic survival levels with thought and creative substance that have redeemed the once scorned genre.
None can be found at the forementioned (clay-x3-stephany ravens accounts)

If you plan on making a new type of survival, DON'T make it copyable.
That is how people spammed Bomb survivals, Shark survivals and more.
AND never give prizes in survivals thats the default, ever notice that the story survivals on LBP PS3 have no collectable items?
Because you cant get rewarded prizes for just living! (Ok to put prizes for aceing levels with an actual story!)
So Survivals are ok if you play by the rules, some people will figure out how to do it, but it will take a while for them to.
Do you agree?

Honestly, i don't see why they don't have a setting where you cannot publish a level after a certain amount of reports... that would stop the constant flood of nobbery for a short time, allowing GOOD levels to reach the top....i mean X3 and that Stephanie chick are flooding the cool pages with junk, and GETTING HEARTS FOR EM'

Honestly..... i do think that we players need to take this into our own hands....like a ocol pages vigilante... and take them out.... kinda like.... a...

Alright, guys... we at LBPCentral will in no way support the abuse of the Good Grief system, however noble the intentions. Realistically, we cannot do anything to prevent you from carrying out such actions. That said, we will not be an avenue through which to organize such mass abuse. If you have a problem with that, too bad. That's the way it is.

Good day all.
