After waiting for Super Smash Bros. Brawl in 2007 only to see it delayed until February 2008 and the delayed again until March 2008, I have the distinct feeling that LittleBigPlanet 2 will meet the same fate, especially considering the fact that Medial Molecule is currently understaffed. They will either have to delay the game until next year or make some sacrifices to the main game and add the omitted material in future updates and DLC. But would it be so terrible if the game was delayed? As far as I know, delaying the game would only mean that it would be that much better when the game is finally released. In SSBB's case, they added Sonic to the game. On the other hand, delaying the game would mean delaying the DLC and a loss in potential profit. Not to mention the first LBP would become a lame duck while the standards to which critics hold LBP2 would grow ever higher the longer LBP2 takes to release. What do you think? Delay or not delay?

They should be able to finish it by winter based on the progress shown in the trailer. But didnt the original LBP get delayed? I think it did. I'll admit ill be a little sad if its delayed, but I can live I guess.

I think with LBP they were talking about releasing in 2007, or early 2008, so that was delayed...and then there was the recall...so...I unno.

I think they have already thought about this, they said they have been working on this for a while i might recall, i think they choose the date to give them some playing time just to make sure that we are not disappointed. And with all the stuff from LBP in there, all the old tools allready made and perfected, im sure they will get it completed in time, and the fact they said "winter 2010" means it could be early or late giving them the time they need.

Altho i wouldn't mind waiting any longer, as weird as it sounds, i love glitchy new games, gives them that "New game" feeling, and once all the major stuf is patched up its nice going "man remember when this and that used to happen"?

I don't even like the wait we have to endure now. I wish they'd announced it later in the year. That said, if a delay is necessary to ensure the quality of the game then I can't really complain. Whatever it takes to make it the best it can be is fine with me and frankly I don't think I could handle another game that's as glitchy as the first LBP.

I wish they'd announced it later in the year. Someone leaked it on twitter to his "followers" by accident. I think MM wanted to surprise us with the game because the video they made showed a lot of new stuff for a game that had only just been announced I think.

i actually like waiting for games, the excitement of watching new trailers, images and previews is almost better than playing the real game. just almost. i get really ****** though when games are delayed because of nit-picking and/or ***** and giggles.

If they were to delay the game for a few more moths i wouldn't mind, if it meant we were to get a much more polished and satisfactory version of the game.

To be honest, I don't think they can wait any longer. Why? First, because I want to play with ASAP! But also, because LBP1 is getting old. Despite how creative the community is, our best creators are hitting the limits of what LBP1 can do. Because of this, they need a release LBP2 in a good position to reclaim that community, and introduce new people to it, especially those that got a new PS3. Releasing this holiday season does many things as much as it causes a problem by competing with so many other games. First, people will get LBP2 as a gift for the holidays. Upon receiving that gift, they'll often break it out to play while the family is gathered together. This exposes young and old to the game and gets it in their minds, which can be useful for word of mouth later on.

I trust Media Molecule, and I just don't see a delay happening. If it did, I'd be very disappointed. Anyway, they've got enough time. Alex Evans seemed pretty sure it's coming out in 2010.
