New Magnet tool
Archive: 19 posts
It would be cool if they made the magnet tool, Heres how it would work... It would work like a magnet in real life but you would be able to turn it off/on with a switch or button and it would only clip on to other magnets not materials. It would also work like the magnetic key switch tool with different colours, So that Green magnets only clip on other Green magnets. Oh and there would be trigger radius setting there too. This tool would be useful for crains and lots of things. Please post what you think about my idea, Cheers! | 2010-06-07 09:21:00 Author: SketchNZ Posts: 1668 |
hmmm.. an interesting idea but i cant see where this would come in handy u can use pistons and winches instead EDIT: oh! u mean picking things up w/ a crane. yea the magnet would be an awesome thing to have to make that possible | 2010-06-07 09:39:00 Author: Alismuffin Posts: 1328 |
It would als be better than trying to make clamps with those wobble bolts or pistons and you could make a boss that falls apart too. | 2010-06-07 09:53:00 Author: SketchNZ Posts: 1668 |
yea true! you could use it for destroying buildings too and even have a magnet activated elevator | 2010-06-07 09:58:00 Author: Alismuffin Posts: 1328 |

I thought about having a magnet a while back, but I didn't think anyone would want it that much, so I skipped on posting a thread on it. | 2010-06-07 18:30:00 Author: ConverseFox Posts: 2333 |
The magnets should be able to be set to attract or repel. This would give you the oppurtunity to create hoverboards etc, without having to rely on hidden peices of gllass attached to a board with a rod :/. Magnets would make an awesome survival level, just think - falling bombs, magnets turning on and off, repel and attract. True havok and brilliance. Great suggestion ftw. | 2010-07-22 20:28:00 Author: Struanmcd Posts: 333 |

I was a member since February, and I should be ashamed of myself for only having 6 bars. I would have had more, if the PSP section livened much earlier. | 2010-07-28 09:03:00 Author: TheNerd Posts: 840 |

I bet it could be done but it would realy just be a clamp. | 2010-07-28 10:53:00 Author: SketchNZ Posts: 1668 |
Yeah I understand what you mean, there are ways to hook up tools and materials to look like a magnet, so in a way you could sort of make up your own magnet tool like lbpc made tools in the logic pack, but it would be much better looking and working and easier if MM or SCEE made one in the game instead. Try sending a message to mm before they finish up making lbp 2. Who knows? They may just make it. | 2010-07-29 03:40:00 Author: Ricky-III Posts: 732 |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPds8KZuNCE&feature=channel If we don't get a magnet add-on we could use simulated magnetics. (did someone already suggest that?) I made a level that uses this tutorial to show that this can work on the psp, search "simulated magnetics", and also, please post feedback on my level. | 2010-08-08 21:07:00 Author: blueyu2 Posts: 62 |
