Everything but the jeep...

If you're like me your moon is full of partial levels and set pieces that for some reason or another got abandoned. Instead of letting it all go to waste I decided I'd try to combine this stuff into a single complete level. As the title suggests I used everthing I had except a little jeep...I just ran out of real estate.

I'm pretty happy with the result but am looking for some playtesters/feedback to help with the finishing touches. It's a pretty standard plaformer with some puzzles...the platforming may be a little on the tricky side but you get to choose infinite or normal checkpoints.

If you'd like to help the level is currently published locked but you can get the key from my Last Exile level (it's just a room with a plane in it). Hop on the stuffed goat near the scoreboard, it will bleat and the key will drop.

I really hope people can make it to the end, the terrain in the caverns section is entirely new and I don't think I've ever seen anything like it before. Rumor has it if you lick a stalagmite it tastes just like chicken!

EDIT:

Playing right now. I'm at the part when you take the torch off the wall. How are you meant to pull the switch? It's impossible!

Thanks! Did you get past that part? There's a small crate in the pit that can be moved...maybe I need to sticker it to draw more attention to it?2010-06-06 16:28:00

Oops, I thought you had to do this really complicated manouvre. Also, yes, mark the crate with that R1 sticker(is it grabbable? If not, I'd make it grabbable).

Also, I completed it. Loved the chicken drumstick cave. The way you used them made them seem more like bumpy rocks.

However, there's a few things you could work on:

1. A few unnecessary invisible walls - for example: the one by the ramp in the pit

2. Some parts could be corner edited more, like some of the rock scenery etc.

It'd be good if I could playthrough with you and point out the bits that need worked on. Would that be possible?

Beside that you have a fantastic, spotlight worthy level my friend.

I forgot all about the R1 sticker...I put the red/white arrow on instead...I'll bet the R1 sticker looks better. The crate has dissolve glued to the sides and glass to the bottom, so you can grab and slide it easily.

1. I needed the invisible wall by the pit to stop plane shifting to the ramp or you won't fall in the pit trap...didn't think this would cause any issues for the player. Most of the invisible walls are to prevent inadvertent plane shifting, especially in the caverns where everything is grabbable. I believe the only really noticable wall is the island after the 2nd bridge in the beginning...I made a fence but didn't like it, so I put an invisible barrier. Don't want you to be able to bypass the frogs.

2. I didn't think I had much in the way of rock scenery? Which section is this...there's nothing that can be corner edited in the caverns.

I don't play well with others, hopefully playing online won't become neccessary; we'll see.

I've added a couple pictures, one from the very beginning and another of the scoreboard.

EDIT: Level is now unlocked, time to move on.
