PSP turning off idea

Archive: 9 posts

I was once told to not try and prevent something, but to go along with it in a positive way.

If the game could sense that the system is about to overload and shut down, It would automatically save your level. Now I'm not saying that it is possible, but I thought I would share my idea.

That sounds like a great idea, it seems that the system may be able to do that, but I have no idea. 2010-06-05 03:57:00

Surely though if the system could tell it was going to overload saving would take it over the limit which it has already reached and will end up crapping out without saving anyways.2010-06-05 09:12:00

That'd be pretty helpful, but to be honest I've had no problem with my psp turning off whilst creating anymore. Even so, just saving everytime you've done something saves a lot of hastle 2010-06-05 11:07:00

Mine still does it from time to time.

I doubt the PSP could do a preventative save, since saving when the power is about to fail woud risk data corruption.

This was just an idea. I'm not expecting this to happen, and I'm not expecting it to work. I just thought I would share my idea. 2010-06-05 13:57:00

It would be handy but think ybout this...
You are creating a level and then you for some reason fill it with stuff that you don't like that will destroy the level, then the PSP freezes and your level is saved and ruined because you didn't want to save it in the first place.
But then again, it could just create another copy of the level somewhere and leave the original unsaved one.
