Your Favourite Glitch
Archive: 31 posts
Just wondering, what's your favourite creation glitch (glitches which help you create)? Which glitch could you not live without? Which one would make you sad if Media Molecule patched it? You get the picture. Vote for your favourite and tell us in a reply below. I've tried to put the major glitches into the poll. If your favourite isn't there, vote "Other" and leave a post with your favourie glitch in it. Mine's the theck/thack layers. They give so much depth to the creation and theck allows you to grab thin objects. | 2010-06-04 16:43:00 Author: trip090 Posts: 1562 |
The extra layers are better than water add-on | 2010-06-04 17:03:00 Author: Alec Posts: 3871 |
My favorite glitch is thin-gas because it is easier to use than invisible material glitch and can overlap other materials. | 2010-06-04 17:31:00 Author: waD_Delma Posts: 282 |

I guess the theck/thack and th cow glitch cos they're the only once I've actually properly used. | 2010-06-04 18:40:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
Well, i love the anti-colour materials :] I'm not sure why, i just like the look of them, and i'm planning too use them a lot in my levels. | 2010-06-04 18:51:00 Author: EvasiveSpoon Posts: 119 |
The theck and thack. They are perfect for new mechanics and extra detail! | 2010-06-04 19:44:00 Author: Keldur Posts: 628 |
The theck and thack, they're very useful. | 2010-06-04 19:46:00 Author: X-FROGBOY-X Posts: 1800 |
Invisible Material, because it has so many indispensible practical applications. I wouldn't have been able to achieve half of what I've achieved in my levels without it. | 2010-06-04 19:59:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |
Layer glitch, I find it annoying to use myself. But I <3 what people have made with it!! <3 | 2010-06-04 23:10:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
Isn't it called the 50 layer glitch? That's what we called it on lbw back when it was first discovered, and that's what Mark Heeley called it in one of the lbp2 interview vids. I thought Bakscratch just made the tools to let everybody use it. Was he the one who discovered it too? For me it was a toss up between invisible material and thin gas because they radically changed the way I build: the reason my most recent mech (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=27374-Most-Advanced-Bipedal-Mech-in-LBP-VT-5-Lightning) is so much better than my previous ones is because of invisible legs (the legs you can see are fake), and a thin gas tilt sensor. But then I use theck and thack a LOT too, so maybe I should've voted for that. And then there's the compression tool (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=24434-Merging-Objects-or-Materials-aka-Compression-Tool). I use that one all the time too. It might be the most under-rated glitch out there: there's so much (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=26340-Incredible-car) you can do with it (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/album.php?albumid=1326&attachmentid=14605). Um..... I'm gonna' vote for all of them. | 2010-06-05 07:23:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |
Um..... I'm gonna' vote for all of them. Well, mirror material is pretty useless ---------- I agree with Ungreth. Invisible material is a lifesaver! | 2010-06-05 08:22:00 Author: Incinerator22 Posts: 3251 |
True. I'm also not much of a fan (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=28050-Super-Jump-worried!&p=487953#post487953) of corner jumping | 2010-06-05 09:42:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |

I thought Bakscratch just made the tools to let everybody use it. Was he the one who discovered it too? It's called many different names (3D, 100/50 layer glitch, Extra layers, etc etc. And Bakscratch discoverd the tools aswell, but he didn't share them with the community if I remember right. | 2010-06-05 11:04:00 Author: Alec Posts: 3871 |
And Bakscratch discoverd the tools aswell, but he didn't share them with the community if I remember right. Yeah, he found the glitch and went kind of mental. It was pretty funny actually He sent m the instructions for how to do it but I lost the message I've seen him do it a few times though, and it's a different method to Aya's. | 2010-06-05 11:20:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
I'll say theck and thack (although I hate the names, so confusing!) Mostly because i find extra layers hard to use. I've used a theck in my levels (okay, only 1) but no extra layers yet | 2010-06-05 13:22:00 Author: napero7 Posts: 1653 |
If you mean what ones you use the most, then its Invisible Darkmatter for me. It's in almost every level as a invisible boundary, balancing something, or making an antigravity effect. Favourite however, would probably be Cow Glitch, just has so many uses, especially seeing as in my cartoon world, there is an element that acts like metal but looks like cardboard (: | 2010-06-05 13:31:00 Author: Matimoo Posts: 1027 |
Theck and thack are definitely my favourite out of that list! Does the flame trick count as a glitch where you obtain the flame from the candle? | 2010-06-05 15:27:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |
Theck and thack is really useful, for example vehicles, but he extra layers is awesome for nice scenery | 2010-06-05 15:32:00 Author: Alec Posts: 3871 |

Theck and Thack are the most useful glitch ever. | 2010-06-05 18:40:00 Author: Kern Posts: 5078 |
*spoiler* What is theck and thack materials? I would go for either the layer glitch or the invisible material. But I still don't know what theck and thack is. | 2010-06-05 20:20:00 Author: moonwire Posts: 1627 |

Is there a way to change your vote? I voted for invisible material because the compression tool wasn't on the list yet. | 2010-06-06 02:23:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |

Ah, it's not that important, I guess. Invisible material is a good one anyway. | 2010-06-06 07:56:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |
I'll say theck and thack (although I hate the names, so confusing!) Theck layers are checkpoint-thick. Thack layers are sackboy-thick. Two other commonly used thack examples are golf balls and point bubbles. | 2010-06-08 00:44:00 Author: Incinerator22 Posts: 3251 |
Thin gas... I used to think I was the only one who knew about it, until it was removed in an update, but then I found it in a glitch prize level... (I was showing some people...) It's useful for a lot of things... | 2010-06-08 01:36:00 Author: KlawwTheClown Posts: 1106 |
I like using invisible dark matter and floaty the most, but I also use the dark matter glass alot. I think I'll cut down on it, until I know what is going to be compatable with LBP2. | 2010-06-09 00:35:00 Author: swanbrown Posts: 898 |
