PS3 keeps freezing up?

Archive: 6 posts

Okay, so in the last 24 hours, my PS3 has frozen up three or four times. The first time happened when I was uploading screenshots of my costumes to tinypic on the PS3 browser yesterday so I could get them onto my computer. The first upload worked. So then I went to upload another...And as soon as I clicked the upload button, it just froze, so I had to turn off the PS3 manually, and it made three beeps as it usually does when I power it off in the middle of something. So I booted it up again thinking it was a one-time thing, went to tinypic, and it freezes again. That's when I said okay, that's it. I'll do it tomorrow. So the today I boot it up, go on tinypic, and it freezes again. That's the point where I just give up.

So I thought it was just tinypic...Today I play my MNR demo for an hour or two, then I go to play LBP. I leave it so it can go through the long startup process and check LBPCentral...When I come back to the TV, it's frozen at the 'Important Information' loading screen. So I turn it off again and restart it, like just 10 minutes ago, and I tried LBP again and it worked fine.

My 120GB PS3 is almost brand new, I just got it this February. I have about 85GB left of the 111GB it came with, so I haven't downloaded that many memory-eating demos or stuff. I bought it at Sears, so I think I have a warranty, though I'm not sure. Is this a warning for the YLOD? I really hope not. Can anyone tell me what's up?

It could be just overheating? Other than that I'm not really sure.2010-06-03 07:16:00

Hm...I do keep it in a pretty well ventilated area, but my house just gets so dusty. Could dust getting into it be the cause of it freezing up?

Well all I can say is keep off any dust on the console, keep it ventilated and maybe cut down the hours you have it on in the background because i know that if your anything like me it will be on in the background needlessly for a fair amount of time.

Pshh don't worry about it, many PS3s do the same, mine does the same with tinypic, and too freezes sometimes in the "Important information" screen, nothing big to worry about m8!

Oh if you knew how many times my PS3 freezes while on the interneet browser you'd freak out.

To be hones, at least once a day, twice daily many times and above.

So like i said, not much to worry about m8, its all like that always.
