The Treegut Mys-Treecountruby
Mysterious contraptions and tunnels carved within an ancient tree... but who could have made them? Delve into this wooded place and discover mysteries, and a tribe that time forgot...
Hi! This is my first level posted here on LBPC. I've been snooping around here for a while, so I thought that it would be a good idea to burst out of my shell!
I've been working on this for a while now, and although it's not my first level it's still quite early days for me. I've spent hours perfecting it and eradicating any bugs or flaws I can find.
So, if you'd like to give it a play, that would be great! I'm trying to get a video organised which I'll post up here so you can check it out before playing it, but in the meantime if you'd like to play it, give me any feedback on how I can improve (and, maybe even heart it...?) I would be more than happy! I'll also do the F4F thing, too, so I'll play your levels and give you feedback as well! Yay!
Thank you lots :star:.

Um, I don't know if I'm allowed to do this, but I'm going to bump this topic because I'd really like people to have a look at this! It would give me great pleasure to have some feedback on it and for people to tell me what's bad/good!2010-06-03 19:31:00

I'll reserve this space for opinions and such, since I can't get to my Ps3 right now, but i'll be sure to check this out ASAP

Sounds like a good idea for a level! I might give it a look :]

As for bumping, there is a guideline thread above the level threads. Take a look there, it has all the rules.

Technically, you aren't allowed to bump like that, but seeing as you are new, we'll let you off

I'd advise taking full advantage of the F4F (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=7962-Feedback-For-Feedback) system. Be proactive about it - leave some feedback on other people's F4F levels - especially if it's something they can use to improve - and then you should get some responses within a few days

First of all: Awesome level!

Pros: Great use of stickers and decorations! I might recommend actually carving them out and putting them their (at least for the mushrooms). The gameplay is pretty good, though relatively easy. The mini-puzzles scattered around the level are fun.

Cons: A bit too easy gameplay- I could have aced it on my first try. The natives should have appeared from the start. Some of the buttons are hard to stay on long enough for them to activate, as in sliding off them. The race should have given a bit more time, maybe 15 seconds rather than 10. There didn't seem to be a story. What is the mystery? You should have had an invisible wall that didn't allow me to go up the last part with the natives. Unfortunately, the icon is hard to make out. You should add a better looking one- it really doesn't do the level justice.

Bugs:
One of the signs was blocked (the one with the hamster wheel) The first sponge thing that takes you up seems to go too fast. The scoreboard was sort of bugged. Just play around some more with the sensor.

:star::star::star::star: and <3 Don't let all the cons bring you down; overall, the pro's outweigh the cons

Could you F4F my level Run! Run! Run! Survival?

Wow, thank you, Sunrise! Yeah, I'll check out your level tomorrow, I have the whole day free for doing things like that, and I'll be sure to take your comments into consideration
Thanks for the heads-up rtm, I'll make sure not to do it again and I'll be sure to try and get a hold of the F4F system.
Thanks very much for giving the level a go :star:

Alright, i'll post in a new reply, for a ninjabump :]
I personally think it's excellent. The design worked very well, not too simplistic but not overly complex, which worked out very well.
As stated before, it was fairly easy. If it hadn't been for a sly little fire, i'd have aced it no trouble. However, I don't think this took away too much from the level, as you regained it on the design/puzzle aspect. I can't wait to see more!
Overall verdict: :star::star::star::star:<3

Liked this level. Really simple and cool design. Only had two issues with it and they were towards the beginning. The first red switch to bring down the sponge to move up was at an angle so you would attempt to stand on it to bring it down but would fall off. Other thing was the fire behind the fence posts. Hard to see if you are zooming by. Otherwise good level! :star::star::star::star:2010-06-04 06:00:00

I really liked playing this level. Your use of stickers and shapes is very good, and the game play is quite fun. I was able to do this with another person without much trouble. The hidden fire got me at the beginning, but that's okay. I also liked the totem masked people in the tree. I look forward to the sequel. Not sure I found anything much to complain about, and I guess that's a good thing.

I'd love to get your feedback on my F4F Sherlock Holmes 2.

Amazing level! :star::star::star::star::star: from me!

Pros:
Solid platforming
Great and simple visuals
Great use of stickers and decorations

Cons:
The enemies were pretty big and hard to reach the brain
I sometimes ran into times when I would be leaded into death. (i.e., winches with sponges lead to spiked warriors, falls bounced me into fire)

But a few tweaks may help those. Fantastic job, though, and seems quite sequel worthy to me!

A spiffy level! Although it raises the question, was I in one tree or several? I couldn't distinguish trunks .
A very easy level that merits the usage of Basic Checkpoints, although I slipped up and nearly had to start over.

Short, fantastic, and fun.

Feedback for my level? Feral Tech: 90% (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=27419-Feral-Tech-90)

Great stuff! I thorughly ejoyed this level
Excellent use of stickers (especially stickers - what pack are they from?) and material and layers! I like the theme of the inside of a tree and the tribesmen.
Fairly simple and easy gameplay and puzzles, but it goes well with visuals as its a nice walk in the park/giant tree.
Its a bit short. i would have like if it was longer.
might i suggest a more complex trap? it seems to be activated by walking closer to the big guy after he says its a trap. is it possible to escape? i didnt try, i just walked closer to him anyway.
some more dialogue would be nice. How is the thermo?
:star::star::star::star::star:<3
If you're up for giving feedback can you play my speluking level in my sig? thanks

Thanks guys, I'll be sure to check out both of those levels when I get onto the PS3.
In answer to your question, MegaBlob, it's perfectly easy to escape. But you'd never finish the level the thermo is just under half, but I was considering making a sequel at some point rather than extending this level, soley because of a time lapse between the two levels (planned time lapse, anyway ), plus I would like to use a clean slate in the next one and improve even more on the feedback given to me here. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the heart <3
