Emitter Noise!
Archive: 8 posts
I've just figured out you can totally lose that annoying emitter noise by lengthening the object you emit. The sound emanates from the top of your object only, so by lengthening your objects with an invisible rod or something, you can ensure the noise will only be heard where the rod ends off the screen. Not sure if that's common knowledge (Probably!), or even if any of you will find it useful, but I'm absolutely over the moon about it. w00t! Now if I could only work out a way to lose the SE for gas.. | 2010-06-02 12:45:00 Author: Kiminski Posts: 545 |
Now if I could only work out a way to lose the SE for gas.. If you just want its lethal effect, and don't mind it being invisible, then thack gas has no sound effect. | 2010-06-02 12:48:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
That's cool about the gas Aya, cheers. I've just figured out you can totally lose that annoying emitter noise by lengthening the object you emit. The sound emanates from the top of your object only, so by lengthening your objects with an invisible rod or something, you can ensure the noise will only be heard where the rod ends off the screen. It seems the sound's location isn't limited to just the top of the object, but is actually forced to the furthest spot away from any attached Dark Matter, so make sure the material you attach the other end of the rod to is anything but. | 2010-06-02 16:37:00 Author: Kiminski Posts: 545 |
That's cool about the gas Aya, cheers. It's not been possible to create it since patch 1.21 (Leerdammer), so if you want some you can get it from Sehven. I used to have lots of samples of odd things like that, but my PS3 recently YLOD'd, and I've had to restore my new PS3 from a six month-old backup. I'm still hoping I can temporarily fix the old PS3 so it will run for long enough to retrieve my LBP profile. | 2010-06-02 16:59:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
That's cool, sorry to hear about the PS3. I've no immediate use for it anyway tbh, it's just another one of those forced annoyances we have to put up with. | 2010-06-02 17:10:00 Author: Kiminski Posts: 545 |
