LittleBigPlanet 1 Hype

Archive: 11 posts

Hey there!

After looking through lots of posts about LBP2, I had a look back at some of the first threads created on LPBC - namely in the sections: News and Media, and Everything else LittleBigPlanet. There are some quite interesting threads there where people are speculating on LittleBigPlanet 1, and it's quite amusing and entertaining how pretty much the same thing is happening now with LBP2!

It's also wierd, as people are asking questions to which we already know the answers to - LBP1 have being released for around 2 years and that.

Go on - have a look!

It's quite entertaining

I just read this in a thread from 2007 called "Will LittleBigPlanet be game of the year?"

I think no... Because GTA 4 is coming this year... And Crysis coming this year... But, LPB will be in the first 10 best games in 2007 If come in 2007. If no, same think no... Because 2008: Gran Turismo, Tekken, Final Fantasy...

Gran Turismo 5 is STILL not out!

Yeah I know, they're taking their time aren't they?

Read this one:

Alright, here's something I was thinking about earlier, and I don't think has been asked/answered yet.

As we know, you can attack items to your sackboy e.g. something you made etc etc, but are you able to attach machines to your sackboy?

I'll use a baloon as an example. As we know, you can attach balloons to things and it makes them fly (As seen in a video, a guy made a hot air balloon type machine, and it flew him across the map).

So saying that, if I attached a balloon (or a few) directly to my sackboy, theoretically, he could fly all the way to the end (assuming he has some kind of propulsion system (Hopefully they'll include a fan of some sort)).

Don't some of these questions sound wierd now that we know the truth?

By the way, I do not mean to cause offence to the posters of these messages.

Gran Turismo 5 is STILL not out!

Gran Tur-who-o? Ooooooh wait. I think I remember hearing something about that ages ago. It was supposed to be a racing game or something, right.

I'm actually not looking forward to GT all that much any more. I've got nothing against a long development cycle, but they just keep hyping it, showing new videos, announcing new tidbits of info and claiming that they're 90% finished. My attention span is only so long and they exhausted it a long time ago. I might still get it when (if) it finally is released, but it won't be at the top of my list.

Back on topic (sorta&apos, I'm surprised this site was around and there was that much excitement before lbp released. I was looking forward to it and I got it within a week or so of launch, but I wasn't on the edge of my seat or anything. Like, I had no idea it would be as good as it turned out, and I wouldn't have guessed I'd become as addicted to it as I am. I suppose I should've known: a few years ago I got into Halo 2 modding (not cheating; making new levels and stuff with mods), and I was hooked on that for quite a while. I even started trying to figure out a way to build a mech (didn't get too far with that, though, but my flying vehicles were pretty cool).

Yeah, it's odd... like a discussion WAY back in May 07 when they were trying to decide if Sackboy could die. D:

... I registered August 08, so we knew more then, but I remember thinking we'd be able to teleport to other levels in doors... which aparrently we can do in LBP2 :/

Exactly! Some of the things there are quite random, and some of the things are deduced from trailers, but what they thought there would be in LBP1, wasn't. It makes me think as to whether or not we're OVER analysing the videos and pictures?

Anyway, lets see what the people of the past think of LBP2!

First its hard to talk about a sequel when the first one is not even out yet. But what i can see them doing is the way that warhawk is releasing expansion packs...only LittleBigPlanet would use more of a theme to base their expansion packs on like when they add water make it a pirate theme pack.
Nailed it right on...

Fluff anyone?

I remember reading/hearing somewhere recently that fluff/bubbles are the "currency" of LBP, in respect to the Create part of the game... 'The heck? So you need fluff to build?

I thought the more fluff you gathered, the more items unlocked... It made it sound like you need fluff to build... Go to Create, use your fluff, oh look! I need more... Let me go play Meerkat Bounce for an hour. I come back to Create, continue building, etc...

Say it ain't so. That would just make it long, tedious and annoying. Definitely not what I expected it to be. At all.

I wish I could remember the article or video, but could anyone shed some light on this?

Fluff anyone?
Didn't someone make a post just like that for LBP2? I think I remember hearing about that there should be a requirement to use coins or something to build.

Ahh, those were the days.
Back when LBW didn't make you want to kill yourself
I'd been looking at the workshop for a while before I found LBPC. I was luring here for like...10 months before I finally joined to post in one of Grant's threads about one of the FSWL levels. I miss the good old days :|

I still prefer fluff to bubbles

I remember the first ever mention of LBPC: The Game, all those months ago... *sigh*
