Time to Celebrate!!!

This month's contest will be a celebration, a festival, a party, a jubilee of all types of levels. Platformers, Boss Battles, Stories, Survival Challenges, MiniGames, Races, Puzzlers, Tutorials and basically anything you come up with may be entered for a chance to win one of our rare trophies. This month tends to be the one where authors get to put the finishing touches on levels that they have been working on for a while, but have been unable to finish due to time constraints. This month also serves as a time to refurbish old levels and whip them into shape so that they may compete against new and fresh concepts. All who previously entered our contests are welcomed to re-participate. As they are allowed to in all contest. A level may be re-entered as long as you did not already win with it. Levels do not have to be new. A video highlighting the rules will be up eventually. Trophies are getting scarce so get those creative juices flowing, finish your creations and enter them in our contest.

June's Competition Name: 'June Jubilee'

* Creative/Eligibility Restrictions: Every and any type of a single level may be entered. Levels do not have to be new.
* Deadline for submitting an entry: Sunday, June 27th, 2010
* Winner will be announced on: Wednesday,June 30th, 2010
* Notes: A promotional video will be made and posted shortly.

JUDGING
As with every monthly contest, scores are compiled through the following criteria:

1. Originality: This aspect is a mixture of all the others. It determines how genuine or original were your ideas, creativity, visuals, sounds, design and gameplay.
2. Creativity: It determines how crafty and ingenious you were with every aspect (e.g. sounds, visuals, gameplay, design, etc.)
3. Sounds: This belongs to what players hear and listen to in your levels.
4. Visuals: This determines how appealing your level is visually. Details are also taken into consideration.
5. Design: The level?s overall structure and shape is what falls in this category.
6. Gameplay: Everything that has to do with obstacles (e.g. hazards, physical challenges, puzzles, enemies, boss fights, etc) is accounted for here.
7. Replay value: This is more or less the rating of how much enthusiasm or effort one is willing to spend to give the level another run.
8. Theme: If applicable. For example, if its a Halloween or Christmas level themed contest, how much of the level?s essence is true to the theme. This criteria does not apply to this particular contest of June.

Cool I have been working on a level for a long time and this is the best way to publish it. Also I have a couple of questions

#1 I wounder can the level be 2X or only 1X also
#2 Can the level have a squeal
#3 Can we create with some of our friends

Answer: It can be 1x, 2x, 3x and even 4x. A level is a level. I like to give equal opportunity to all authors. I will find a way to play and evaluate them

Question #2 :Can the level have a squeal?
Answer: Of course. The series may be as long as you desire, but I will only evaluate the one you enter. A single entry per person. This allows everyone to have an equal opportunity at winning.

Question #3 Can we create with some of our friends
Answer: Sure, since the Friendly February trophy contest, I have permanently allowed entries made by multiple authors. The authors must have contributed greatly to the level in order to be considered. If one of the authors created a separate level, but for the series does not mean that he/she contributed to that level.

Question #4 Can we publish more than one level?
Are you referring of publishing the same level twice or entering several levels? If you are referring to publishing the same level several times, what would be the advantage of this? I recommend you only have one published. It will reduce confusing while at the same time allowing all the ratings, plays and hearts to accumulate in it. If you are referring to multiple different levels, then the answer is the same as I gave for question#2.

Showing the complete list of levels would be a bit more fair but I don't know, maybe put a poll?

Did it work ok last time updating as they came in ? If so, probably do the same again. If not then maybe just put the creators names as they come in just so they know their entry has been received and then update with the actual level names at the end all together.		2010-06-05 21:24:00

Alright! Great to know you will join the trophy contest I will update the entry list very soon. I have been rather busy the last week since I will be participating in a car competition from tomorrow until Sunday. Hopefully, I will be logging in often or at least once in a while to check up on everything. For the past week, my team and myself have been finishing a formula SAE car that has taken us a year and a half in the making. The competition for which is was built will take place at Fontana California this week. We have stayed up for several days straight working on finishing the car, dealing with the plane tickets, hotels, news reporters, university faculty members and other aspects. I am writting so that you know that I am still very alert to the review group and vigilant to almost everything that is posted. The competitions start Wednesday,June 16th and end on Saturday, June 19th. We are leaving on the 15th and arriving on the 21st. We will be competing against 79 other universities.
