Character Creation Contest! Revived! THEME REVEALED

| Character Design Contest. http://i31.tinypic.com/2jbut20.png Round 5 * Welcome to Round 5 of the Character Contest! You may enter at any time during the round! * Directions 1. Following the theme, create a character in create mode. 2. Put it in a level. 3. Publish that level. 4. PM me the level info and/or post it in this thread. 5. If you are a winner, make your level copyable for two days. Rules 1. The character must be created during the contest period. 2. No magic mouths should be on the character. 3. No rigged bombs should be implanted in the character. 4. No functional brains (of any kind) should be on the character. (For Decor it's fine). 5. The character may not kill a sackperson in any horrible, bloody, murderous way. 5. The character must have a name. The level title should have the character's name in it. 6. Bolts of any kind are fine. All connectors are allowed. 7. Sensor/mag-key switches are allowed. 8. Only TWO entries per person during a round. 9. If you are switching out an entry, please specify which one you are switching out. Judging 1. Each judge will give each entry a rating based on CREATIVITY. 2. Ratings from each judge will be averaged. 3. The top 3 highest rated characters win. When I first entered this contest, I had some pretty awful skills too. But it's all about having fun and dominating your peers seeing other peoples' handiwork. | The deadline is still a few days away... There still might be some entries. Maybe ask how many are still planning to enter and can make the deadline. If no responses, maybe extend the deadline a week as it might be there are folks working on them now that think they are going to run out of time and give up. I really wish I could enter one this round, but I have been really busy with the Caption Contest as well as the Creator Spotlights. I just don't have much time for my own projects. | I feel sorry for the people that spent their valuable time making a character for this. A lot of hard work and effort has been put into these levels for nothing. It's such a shame when people start competitions and then can't be bothered to see them through to fruition. I mean you did start the contest and by that you are saying you will post results at the conclusion. Why is this so hard? I was hoping you would resolve this since that is basically what you did to Jagravi in Round 4. To fix this, we will poll your listed judges and add another one to finish this for you. True, as someone new to this forum and this contest, I see your point. It might look like that from first glance, but in talking with him a week ago, I don't feel that is the case at all. He is basically embarrassed about such a small turnout. Perhaps there is another reason, but he is more than welcome to do the right thing and finish the contest and has had more than a few opportunities to make it right. All I am saying is if he isn't, I will. Feel free to ask him about it yourself. I am just wanting this to end nicely. This contest is near and dear to my heart and some of the most fun I have had on this forum in sharing fun and wacky characters with my friends. | He is basically embarrassed about such a small turnout. If that's the reason, then either:- Not enough time is being allocated to each round. Not enough people are interested in entering to make it worthwhile to continue the contest, beyond finishing the current round. OTOH, if that's not the reason, and it's just that he doesn't have the time to run a contest, then perhaps someone else should take over the contest, assuming there's still enough interest to continue it beyond the current round, but I feel as if this decision could be made with a bit less hostility towards KernelM. | 2010-07-12 18:37:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
