Beasts of the BaronSmudge228
"The evil Baron has seized controle over little big planet, cruelly taking the power of creation from sackpeople. As little big planet enters a new age of fear, a lone sack heads deep into the heart of the Baron's new empire...."
Hi there!
Most of you won't know me, I'm new here at the forums. I have recently uploaded my very first level Beasts of the Baron, which you can find under my username Smudge228. In the level you must make your way to the Baron's lair and stop him before he destroys all of little big planet. along the way you will have to fight many of the Barons evil beasts (hence the title) which become increasingly difficult as the level goes on. The level was built with a one player experience in mind so some of the parts may break with more than that, they might not, but just a heads up. Anyway if you have any spare time then I would be greatfull if you would give it a try. Its not the best level out there but for a first level (I hope) its quite good.
Thanks
Smudge

Ok your level started out awesome with the worm battle thing. Challenging but possible.Then we ( I was playing with a mate and it worked fine) and some of the platforms dissolved? Well all of them apart from the square. THen the third one was far to easy for the first bit, but way to hard for his mouth as the hut was blocking the path. The mother worm we didn't know what we had to do untill we climbed up him, are we supposed to do that? I think you need more hints. ANd then the king worm was quite a good ending I felt, apart from when you blow up the bombs we fell to the bottom and had to pop. Oh yeah and the mother worm water came on way to soon... but that might've been set to happen2010-05-31 15:18:00

thanks for the feedback I'll fix those things you mentioned now, what level of yours was it you wanted me to feed back on?
EDIT: I've added in some magic mouth's with hints on what to do and where to go to make it a bit easier, hopefully people won't get stuck anymore

Hiya-

First off, I love the ruined landscape, and I think the bubble placement is great. The story is really cool and innovative, I'd never thought to make a story based on an evil baron overpowering LBP. I also really like the miniature bomb survival in this level, and all of the characters were nice. I didn't encounter any bugs, I think the level's perfect as is.

I rated it :star::star::star::star::star: and <3ed.

By george that was one of the best levels I've played on LBP.

I don't know where to start, Most of the level was just amazing. Never once did I get stuck and have no idea on where to go, the level itself is extremely varied. The swimming sequences were great and the sewer looked beautiful. I don't want to spoil the final boss for those who haven't played it yet, but it was the best part of the level. Your attention to detail in this level is second to none. The story was fun as well. The bosses themselves were challenging, but they don't drag on too long to the point they become tedious and each one is so different from each other. This level must of taken a lot of planning

My only gripe was that my Sackboy kept getting stuck to environment since you made it so hilly and dynamic but that's more of an problem with LBP itself rather than your level specifically.

:star::star::star::star::star: + <3

I'll recommend your level to my friends.

Wow thanks for the positive feedback guys! I really am flattered!
UPDATE: I've added in a few more prizes for those skilled enough to find 'em
PRIZE LOCATIONS:
PRIZE1: head left from the starting point, it should be right there
PRIZE2: after the bomb survival mini-game jump left into the wall
PRIZE3: when you reach that bit where you go behind the wall whilst the waters rising, swim back left to where the man in the black coat was, you should now be able to reach the platform he's standing on. jump up and grab him for the prize
PRIZE4: in plain sight under-water. just swim down to it!
PRIZE5: after leaving the under water area head left and its by the wall
PRIZE6: during the mother worm boss fight, after reaching the platform with the wooden blocks, jump down and push the analog stick left. its on the box by the wall
PRIZE7: during the mother worm boss battle you should be able to see something in the top right corner. shoot the grey bit and a prize will be emitted on top of the paintinator
PRIZE8: during the arena battle, shoot the baron!
PRIZE9: free the trapped sackpeople. its in the cage with them.

The prizes aren't very usefull but they can all be shared. hopefully someone can make use of them

Nice level. It has a great platforming and decent visuals and there's some clever humor too. The only issue I had with this level is that when you go against the 2nd worm, you couldn't go back one layer because the paintinator in front of the checkpoint is a bit of the way. Overall, I gave it 4 stars and a tag "Boss".2010-06-03 02:51:00

thanks for the great rating and the tag! I was suprised to see no-one before you had tagged it Boss actually. your not suposed to go back a layer on the second worm, that hole was only there to give you a bit of cover when you sporn, so no instant deaths at that checkpoint. I have moved the paintinator anyways so that other people can use that tactic if they want. I've also added in some more photobooths and screenshots of the level to the pre-level menu. hopefully that will attract a few more players!2010-06-03 10:12:00

Mmmm. So many bosses. v_v lol, pretty okay level here. I didn't like how there were 6 photobooths. That was crazy... I didn't want all those useless pictures.
Anyway, pretty lengthy, with good visuals. I also liked the part where you go inside the worm to destroy its insides. xD One problem though, the switch to open the gate to free the prisoners just floats in the air after you release them, kinda looks retarded. Lol. The bosses were really simple, just shoot til' they die while avoiding. Nothing special there. I also exploited the second to last worm battle where you have to get to the top of the platform to kill him. I was able to kill him from below. xD

I gave the level :star: :star: :star: and a HALF if I could. xD

Can you leave feedback on Farewell Ruins of the Moon: Chapter One (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=26787-Farewell-Ruins-of-the-Moon-Chapter-One) by AbstractSam? Thanks.

The photobooths got a little annoying after awhile. Loved the worm fights. There are times where the transition between areas isn't smooth or just unclear. A lot of this could be solved with the use of cameras. Gave it :star::star::star: Level for feedback is in my sig! ^_^2010-06-04 06:42:00

thanks for the feedback guys! I'm just going to remove a few of those photobooths, I forgot I left them in. I was using them to try and capture an exiting picture for the level icon and must've left them in there, lol I'll try your levels now!
EDIT: got rid of most of the photobooths and added more camera zones. I think it does look alot better now, thanks for the pointer buddhapunch!
