Stanley's Homework Troublesp-ybbel-p
noHey everyone, I have just published a survival challenge level called Stanley's Homework Troubles.
I think it is one of the the first maths level on lbp psp and maybe even on lbp ps3(I don't have lbp ps3) Don't worry you don't actually have to do maths it just involves numbers. It is my contest entry for Taffeys survival challenge contest, and i've spent a lot of time on it. This is how the story goes, Stanley saids he will give Sackboy a prize if he does him a favor and does his maths homework. Sackboy accepts and teleports into Stanley's math book. Help Sackboy move numbers around while dodging wrong answers, collecting score bubbles and trying to survive for as long as he can. The reason I used the name Stanley is because we have to read a book at school and the main character's name is Stanley.I would like to thank taffey, amazingflyingpoo and ali985 for helping me with some techniques. If there's any problems or things I need to fix up on the level just say so. Enjoy the level!

Hi, lbpawesomeness. I tried you level today. You create good level with very nice main idea. I played it with big interest. You created good environments and good story. I loved boy's room. But I have several comments :

- Players can play forever in you level just flying at the top edge of obstacles room - if Sackboy there, than in that place emitters couldn't create any objects, so it is safe path to fly with numbers forever. If you will make ceiling place inaccessible for players than this trick will not work.

- After dropping numbers in the hole players must stay there to catch prise bubbles, if bubbles fall in the hole, then players can't catch it. Maybe there must be some special place for prise bubbles or different mechanism to giving it for players.

- And one more - if players will off jet-pack above hole, then they fall in that place -

where they can find falling numbers and bubbles. And also watch some level mechanics. Maybe it works as you want, but if it doesn't, then I think that small layer of death gas in the hall will stop players from this area.

Anyway I gave you 5 stars for this level! Good work! Please make more levels!

Woo-hoo! I'm really excited to try this level out As with the other entries for the competition, I am not playing it until I do the judging because I want the level to feel fresh when I judge (I think that it would be better for you if I did that ).

I am eagerly anticipating giving it a play!

Hello awesomeness!!

You have done a good job with this level, it is an interesting concept that I have never seen done before and you get major cool points for that. Your sticker work is once again top notch, I love you sticker work and choice of materials for this level. The gameplay was good too, but I noticed the same problem Dom and Famous mentioned. If you fix that, I will play again and maybe even give you a heart. I gave you five stars instead, not too bad!!

You are getting better and better my friend.

Later!!

ok so basically you want me to put a barrier in front of the emitters and gas where the thing is were you drop the objects in so you can't fall in. I'll fix it soon.2010-05-31 22:12:00

It's all fixed, thanks domik12, famouscustard and velcrojonze for feedback. I'm glad you enjoy my level a lot and hopefully you'll enjoy it more when you play the fixed version.
@ Domik12 Thanks for telling me the problems, thanks for all the nice things you said about the level. Thanks for taking the picture and yes I will keep creating levels but it might be a while before i finish.

@ FamousCustard: About the high score, I don't know how I got it so high I just kept jumping around and always landed in the right spots, by the way your entry is extremely fun. I tried to get the right difficulty for my level and after a lot of testing it worked. I'm glad you liked the design and thought it was fun.

@Jonze: Thanks for saying all the nice things about my level like the interesting concept, good sticker use, visuals and other stuff. Thanks for the 5 stars and saying im getting better.

hi lbpawesomeness,
i just tried your challenge and wanted to leave some feedback.
I think most of the things i mentioned have been said already. The look is good and the little story was a good idea. The Concept is really great! (what can i say i am a mathteacher. So i would advice little stanley to do his homework alone!)
In my opinion you didnt choose the right spot to spawn the scorebubbles. the player has to get them and i think in a challenge like this the bubble should automatically hit the player. So maybe they should spawn a little bit more to the left.
Nothing more to say. Good level, 4 stars!

Greetings!

Hi-

I am playing all of the survival level entries to the competition, and I think this is probably one of the most innovative of the ones that I did play. I'm pretty sure you are right about this being the first level that specifically dealt with numbers on both the PS3 and the PSP. Your sticker work is superb, probably some of the best I've seen so far. The only criticism that I have is that when you go to collect the points, the points can easily fall into the gas below, and if you fly too fast to get the points, you'll touh the gas above and get killed. Other than that, I had a lot of fun playing your level. Good luck with the contest.

I rated it :star::star::star::star::star:.

I am terrible at this level. It is cool and I can really relate to the theme, I have to help like 50 kids a day do homework (so hard). It is a cool concept and very well executed. Though I felt that the level was a bit more plain than it could have been... Not sure but the inside of the math book seemed that way (nitpicky much? I guess thats what you would expect in a math book). The intro was nice and looked great. I had a lot of fun, even if I didn't do well playing. I gave you 5 stars and a heart. Keep on going there Awesomeness, I can see your levels becoming like your name.2010-06-08 05:14:00

Before I start, I just want to say I had a Blast playing many survival challenges for poo's contest! Including your level.
I manage to take up a lot of time in life and I got the highscore for your level, in first place.

Your level was oh so great as it started. The character looked creepy. (Stanley, I think) Anyways the materials used were awesome, but random at some parts. It was like looking at a rainbow.
You took a lot of time corner editing, but I'm sure you could do much better than that. I like the whole picturesque of the level.

Once I got to the challenge, I thought it was hard. You have to be fast with the jetpack, but I manage to get the highscore.

I'm pleased that you made a fun/difficult survival.

Anyways, I'm going to give you your rating now.

Length: N/A (When does it end? *Dies* Ohh...)
Creativity: 4/5 (The materials chosen were good, but random at some parts)
Corner Editing: 4/5 (You took your time to do it, but it could be done better)
Theme: 5/5 (The whole terrain was great! So were the mechanics)
Story: N/A (Nothing really built in here)

Total: 13/15
It's not the best score, but it sure was a heck awesome level.
I gave you five stars :star::star::star::star::star: I can't wait to see what you build next!

Until we meet again,
