Quench Drink's Secret Factory (Revised and Extended thanks to your input!)ElementalPenguin
If you liked the first one, this one is bigger, better and more detailed, and it's all thanks to you guys, I took into account what all of you said and concocted this new improved level. Any more feedback about this level is appreciated and it's still F4F so let me know what levels to try. Thanks again guys!
Oh I kind of said everything in the description... my bad... =P

It's a good idea and if extended a little bit it could be a GREAT level. The beginning of the level is nice, although a background would be nice. The entrance to the factory could be a little bit more dynamic. I noticed there is no explanation as to where you are at when you fall into the basement. I knew from reading your other thread, but someone who didn't read that first wouldn't (This includes the person who I handed the controller too while I wrote this). Inside the factory is a little bit static, try using more materials and make good use of all three layers. The generator scene is good, but when I destroy it a speech bubble immediately opens up so I can't watch the explosives (Try using a time delay switch).

Considering you said you're new to creating, you did a great job. Just keep working, you'll get better!

No problem. Don't think I was just slamming you in every way possible. You have a lot of creative potential and once you get some creation experience under your belt, I predict some good levels from you 2010-05-31 05:15:00

Ok I'm off to test this level now! I'll be back soon with the feedback ;P

EDIT: I've just come back from playing your level. I played the previous version and although this one is a wee bit longer, its still too short to really do the level justice. It was nice to see a visual improvement and (more points?) and I had alot of fun playing the level. It was definitaly an improvement and for that reason I felt obliged to rate higher then I did last time so 5 stars from me! P.S. It might be nice too see a cut out fish rather then a fish decoration stuck onto a blue box. You don't have too but just a thought.

If you are still doing F4F then please could you leave feedback on my level Beast of the Baron here: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=27898-Beasts-of-the-Baron

Hi there, thanks for playing Sherlock Holmes 2 and giving me feedback. I played your Quench drink factory level, and I liked the visuals a lot. You did a great job with the stickers. I also thought the game play was pretty good, but I would just like to have seen a bit more to it. Perhaps something to attract your attention at the beginning of the tour that causes you to break off from the tour to explore the hidden reality.
Still, I thought it was a very good level, and I enjoyed playing it.
Good luck to you!

Cool level! :star::star::star::star: from me

Pros:
Hilarious intro!
Great storyline!
Visually good

Cons:
Obstacles were quite "horizontal" and not much height change or layer change

F4F "Hazy Hills Hiking" whenever you have the chance.

Thanks for the feedback. Just played this level. It was a very cute level. Liked the fact that you added the gulps to the bottles shooting out of the bottle maker. The start was nice, funny little world design. The stairs going up and the part where you fall into the soda factory could have had a touch better camera view, not super important, just noticed it. Like the truck and the wordings, , if you are running high on the thermo, you could take a picture of the wording and then put the sticker on the truck...then with that extra space, add a driver's seat to the van, turn it around and have you smash it through the wall to go further in the level...I just like vehicles and when I see one in a level I want to drive it. The next part was very funny and well set up, if you moved the thick layer down a little on the machine, and allowed the items to dissolve a little further in, you may not even know how it is happening, but the way it is now you can see them vanish right before they go behind the next part. The office was good, you could have lowered the lighting a little bit more to make it more cliche' (in a good way) with some back lighting behind the bosses talking. The generator was nice, but it wasn't trying to kille me...compared to you almost evil search lights it seemed a bit too easy (oh on the second search light if the platform was just a tad bit less wide, it would not make it too easy, but would not force you to wait untilt the several loops for the lights to be just timed right). The guy at the end was a god touch, the roots of the tree to grass seemed to carved in, like it was just placed there. If you could smooth the grass floor there just a little, something just seemed a little off. All in all a fun cute little level. I think you could add a little more to it because it was fun. Just go over some corners, the camera angles, that last bit of grass, the generator, oh and the van. Again thanks for the feed back, good work on the level. 2010-09-11 23:21:00

Thanks for the input, That fish machine took me a long time and when I made it, I made it more complex then it need to be XD I didn't really think of the lifespan using the emitter, I actually added a magnetic key at the end... I layered it poorly so it's behind the machine front... in short, because this is my first serious level, I kind of did a lot things harder then they needed to be and a fair amount wrong. This website has really helped me improve my level a lot, I'll be sure to go fix up the tree at the end.

But now I'm trying to think of what to do for a second level. Thanks very much for your input. ^.^

Cool, the emit timer may be a quick thing for you to fix too, just toy with the timing. I know you are busy with your new level, but that van thing was just creaming out drive me. 2010-09-12 04:05:00

Most things that I think could be improved were already said except for a few things.

I want to be the one to chug down the drink when the level starts. Someone told me that I did, so it didn't feel right.

Stuff like the fish not just being a box, or how you enter the secret area can be improved like others said. Also maybe an aquarium to see the fish swim around before they're made to sweet tasting drinks.

Fun level, albeit short.

First thing I did after playing was check if I had the Diet Quench sticker!

The city needs some work; a skyline in the background would be fairly easy and go a long way. You could try out the layer glitch...

I think it would add to the shock value if you had more drinkable bottles of Quench soda strewn about the city before you go into the factory. Reward the player for finding them. The player would look for it then find out its dirty little secret.

"Of course it's not morally right!" I laughed aloud at that line! It reminded me of the old Captain Planet cartoons...

I agree with MetaHybrid about the fish tank. Maybe in the lobby before you fall. With the Quench logo it would be a good place for a photo booth!

I jumped into the machine that makes the soda. It's cool that you can drink it...but it just felt wrong doing it...^_^ It'd be nice if you could jam up the machine in some way--perhaps for a reward of score bubbles...

All in all a fun level!

I really liked the level overall 4/5 stars from me and a heart.

Pros
-Good detail (like being able to drink the beverages and overall)
-funny / cool story line
-some fun obstacles

Cons
-as someone else said some of it could feel a little horizontal . but it's not a really bad thing.
-could've maybe made the contest winning more interactive, such as having to drink everything first.
or even do a scene starting in your house drinking it if you really wanted to get in depth.
-felt like it was a little short, could've maybe added a couple more obstacles , and or the beginning suggestion.

overall this was a really well polished level. just some suggestions to add more. please play Farmageddon!!(Bomb Survival)! for my feedback please, thanks.

Thanks very much! I can do a photobooth and I'll tweak in my tweaking level to see how to make a fish tank. I'll try and republish once I have both done.2010-09-13 04:15:00
