The twin towers are once in harmony until the Tower of Darkness is cursed. Beacon the Tower of Light to restore the light's source then enter the Tower of Darkness to stop the curse. The level involves vertical platforming and jetpack.
The second of "The Hero Chronicles" level series features the towering platforming and the usage of the jetpack plus some intriguing puzzles and obstacles to enjoy. As for the visuals of this level, it concentrates more on architectural design and different sets of lighting and I haven't add a single 3D layer glitch to this level. The first level turned out really well and hope I keep the level series fresh.
SPECIAL THANKS TO:
-SHAWNEBOI for showing me some great architectural designs in his "Elemental" and "Zelda Temple" series that gave me the idea of making the towers' architectural design.
-X_NOBODY_X's "Kingdom Hearts" level and SNAKEOWENS' "Zelda" level for the inspiration of the level's boss.
-And anyone in LBP Central for more inspirations and encouragements.

Okay, I don't normally do stuff like this but... First Play! Anyway, your level was quite unique, some aspects I liked was the making of the ghosts by using the emitter with such a short life span, that was great. I also like the part where you had to point the lights at the sun, and your visuals were pretty darn good. Some things I noticed were, at the part with the moving gargoyle platforms, the first gargoyle goes to low, so when you stay on it or land on it at it's lowest point, you get killed by the gas. The platforms weren't synced either but that's an easy fix. My biggest beef was the end of the level with the boss, I died so many times, but I'm stubborn... The chances you give to people to hit the boss is very limited. I also kept getting hit by this rogue plasma ball going so much faster than the others. I'd say get rid of the faster plasma ball and reduce the hits needed to kill the boss and it would be better. All in all you put a lot of work into it, the plot is pretty good, and I liked the ghosts. I put 4 stars, and I think your level will do better when you do those quick fixes.2010-05-31 03:06:00

Thanks elementalpenguin. I should slow down the boss and make the gargoyle statue platforms more stabilized. I think what I should do is to increase the time the boss makes a strike so that people will get a chance to hit the boss before it strikes again. I'll do those fixes you mentioned ASAP.

I just tweaked the movements of the Gargoyle statues and the level's boss in the level's first update last night. It's now even less frustrating than before.

This level was really good, i noticed in it some pretty unusual visuals which were really good, also i liked the game-play which wasn't to original but despite this it was fun, keep up!2010-06-01 00:17:00

Hey JustinArt, I played your level and I liked it. The visuals were pretty good and there were a lot of intricate well thought-out puzzles. It was an interesting effect the way you created your ghost man. I did get a little confused at the boss as I kept hitting him but I couldn't tell if I was doing the right thing. But that's the only complaint I have. Nice work.2010-06-01 07:41:00

the level was really good! I like the way you made the gost sort of shimmer by continously emiting it. I enjoyed the interesting scenery and the change from the tower of light to the tower of darkness was pleasant. the gargoyles were very cool, even if they were pre-made objects! my only real problem was that the final boss wasn't explained very well. me and my friend died ALOT trying to figure out how to kill him. Also he might prehaps have a few too many hit points as the sowrd is hard to controle and you can only really hit him once or twice before he starts shooting at you again. Overall a good level with some great gameplay sections (I liked the pointing the lights at the sun part best) so I gave it 5 stars!
P.S. did anyone else notice that when you fly up close to the eyeball, it grows? made for some funny lol moments I can tell ya!

if your still doing F4F then and you don't have too much to do then could you please try my level Beasts of the Baron https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=27898-Beasts-of-the-Baron

Glad you both liked it. The only way to notice that you hit the boss is that the light flashes and/or it makes a hurting roar. Another thing you should have a power to control the sword is to speed up by holding the X button. I might explain even more on how to defeat the level's boss. Keep up with the feedbacks.

Hi-

First off, I can see you have improved since the first installement of The Hero Chronicles, there's a lot more decorations and the beginning title is a lot more on the polished side. My favorite part of the level would have to be the boss fight, the only thing I didn't like was it felt it took to long to defeat the boss. Other than that, I had a blast playing.

I rated it :star::star::star::star::star: and <3ed.

I really enjoyed your level it some great platforming aspects to it. But the only real problem I had with it was the boss because I really didn't know if I was hurting it or not, but after a while I realized that when I hit it the light flashed and he roared. It did take awhile to defeat it though maybe you should shorten the length it takes to kill it. I rated 4 stars. Great Job!2010-06-04 03:28:00

Great level. I really liked the twist on the old block in the slot puzzle with the mini-maze to figure out. Nice job with the ghost knight too.

I had a little trouble with the boss, but finally figured out the flashing light meant a hit and finally racked up enough to kill the dragon.

I can't say I noticed any real problems. I'd love to read your comments on my Sherlock Holmes 2 level F4F. Good luck to you.

Thank you very much Frogboy, Newbie, and Thantos. As requested by most people, I reduced the amount of hits needed to defeat the boss from 15 to 10 so that it doesn't feel too long to most of the people.

OK - Just played this and I have to agree with the opinions of many of the prior posters - but we'll get to that in a minute.

First, let me say what a shame it is that this level has so few plays. I don't know if that sort of thing matters to you, but as your 7 days are up and it does have so few plays, you might consider republishing. Take a look at some of the threads here on LBPC regarding level promotion and the Cool Pages (which are admittedly broken beyond repair, but that doesn't keep a new level from at least getting a fair share of plays - I mean less than 200 plays is just criminal for such a good level as this). But then - a lot of folks don't give a &@#^ about plays and hearts - if you're one of those folks, ignore this paragraph.

I really enjoyed the look and feel of this level. Lots of fun platforming and well developed puzzles. Excellent use of the 3 layers for both of these aspects. The emitted spirit was a great touch. I loved the gargoyles and the boss looked great too.

Now onto some minor gripes... I felt like the platforms (or at least the first platform) with the gargoyles needed to be synced up better. I had to wait a long while for those first two to cycle through and line up to where I could make the jump. I also thought the camera zones needed a bit of work. There are several places where you have to sort of creep up to the edge of a hazard before the camera will give you viewpoint needed to attack said hazard.

And then one major gripe... The boss is very hard to decipher. Even after your changes, I found it very difficult to understand what I was doing. It seems that there is one small area in the middle of the boss that is effected by a small portion of the sword. Other than the flash (which took me several hits to identify) there is no indication of what to do or how/where to do it. The fact that I had come as far as I had, and that I felt obligated (by the F4F commitment) to finish was really the only that kept me trying. Even after I realized that I was getting hits, I felt that (A) They seemed kinda random, as I didn't really see what was hitting what - just a general idea of somewhere in the middle; and (B) I had no idea how much progress I was making so no clue how many more times I was gonna have to fly in there and try to hit him. I think you could give some sort of life/hit-point indicator; maybe make the hits more obvious (brighter flash, screaming noise, etc); and give a more clear (and/or broader) target to hit.

I hope this helps. I really was sad to see so few plays on this - it's a very good level.

Massive improvements here compared to your earlier work. I thought some of your puzzles were really fun, your use of layers was quite special. You are FAR better at atmosphere and variety in your levels - well done. I liked the end boss but I thought the room it was in was quite bland - could you make it a little prettier?

Just, WOW lol. its an amazing level to look at. I get an excellent feel for the level from the design, absolutely stunning. As far as the challenge of the level I felt it was rather easy to complete but did have some interesting puzzles. A+ for the sun puzzle, that was a wonderful idea. The boss took me a few tries to figure out but once you figure that out he goes down pretty quickly.

All in all it was a very good level, well constructed and visually amazing, but the difficulty could be increased a little in future levels maybe. ( some obstacles could be passed by just sticking to the wall )

ALSO! the part where you pick up the ball with lights to get rid of the eye, theres a chance (a small one im sure) that you could accidentally knock the spawn point down into the gas... Glue? lol

Thanks Vortex. I had an idea that lets people know how hits you need to defeat the boss. I'll start that in the next update.

Thanks TheAdipose. I really have improved and I keep my levels varied by using different atmospheres, backgrounds, and gameplay. I guess I could try to make the background a little different in the boss' room.

Thanks DMacK. Don't worry about the spawn point part, I don't see any problem with it and it's probably glued down.

Glad this level turned out as great as "LV1 Magical Forest". The next level is going to be even more awesome and it'll feature racing for points, the usage of paintinator, and an familiar face from "Future City Los Angeles". It'll be published next week.

Just updated the level last night. The boss has majorly changed as you'll see how many hits you need to defeat it and the background of the boss' arena has slightly been polished. I also tweaked the moving gargoyle statues. Here's the comparing images of both the original and the updated version in the attached thumbnails and you'll see some neat changes around the level's boss.2010-06-08 23:31:00

Played this level yesterday and wow, Awesome i really liked the lighting and puzzles of the level, i also keep noticing the amount of inspiration from zelda XD, of course thats not a bad thing, but i will admit this level had Wind Waker written all over it, and again as i said that is NOT a bad thing.

I loved the level, i gave it 5 stars and Artistic, and a Heart, this is problably your best level.
I loved the Darkness section, i loved how you combined Blue with Purple lighting effects, it kinda gave it a "Soul Reaver" like touch, it was amazing.
I wanna say wow, that 3 layer puzzle you made? Great Job. There are alot of puzzles out there. Some are simple.
Other need you to put your control down and sit down and think.

But that puzzle you made? Wow, i looked like this--->0_o
Thats was CRAZY, i actually put my face in front of the TV cause i was SOoo lost i had no idea, until i looked closely and noticed.

The level is Perfect, great Job this deserves to be in Cool Pages and Many More Plays, so hey just let me now i wont mind if you put your level key in one of my levels, seriously.

However, i will point out 2 things though.
1-in the beggining i was kinda lost, make it a little more obvious about pulling the switch in the top to open the entrance.
2-In the Sun puzzle where you had to shine it with 3 lights, i got kinda lost, maybe you add something like, a path of light that leads you to where you have to go or something.

Other than that Beautiful level, The Boss, haha i can see how much you play Zelda.
One more thing before i stop...im usually a Clumsy Knucklehead while playing levels and sometimes break stuff O_O
but yeah, the ghost, whispering voice that helps you out.

Did you actually make him? cause all i saw was 3 little dots of Dark Matter :/
idk if it was intentionally made that way but yeah did i do something wrong?
So yeah thats it, great leve.l ^^

Thanks and yes I made that character. Everything in my levels is made all by myself. This level is actually not inspired by "Zelda" but I noticed you saw some inspirations so I guess it is kinda inspired. Try not to put your TV too close next time okay?

EDIT: Actually I remembered something. I sort of got this light and darkness idea from "Zelda A Link to the Past" and "Zelda Twilight Princess" so they're both the main inspirations of this level.

Me and my daughter really enjoyed playing your level. I can tell you put some time into making this level. Very well done constructing different platforms and the whole theme was great. My daughter figured out how to kill the boss and she's only 5. Just goes to show how smart kids are nowadays. I gave your level 5 :star::star::star::star::star: and <3.

Would you plz try out my level Chronicles of Sack and give me F4F. Thx
