Well, I posted this on CC's wall a few days ago, but no response (that happens sometimes), so here is a thread. Ok, two major issues with the report button: 1. It's kinda nondescript. Some people may not see that it's even there, it's so small and not so obvious what it's purpose is. Perhaps make it a bit bigger with text "Report!" and "Report to Mods!" or something right next to it? Some people who may need to see it may not be able to see it. 2. Change the text from "only for harassing posts" to say something about being able to get in touch with mods? Because I've been using that when I want some thread closed or something and no mod is on, and Aya said I could and no one ever told me to stop so I guess it's ok- it's the best way to alert any mod to your post if something need be done, so perhaps change the text on the screen if you want to have it be for alerting mods to lock topics or such as well? But definitively 1, I personally have no problem seeing it, I just think that some people may have problems seeing it when they need to report something for any reason.

I agree. Although, I think the report button is nondescript for a reason. You'd be amazed how many times people click on 'Report' when they mean 'Reply'. I'm sure that would go up if we actually had text for it.

Yeah, don't think anyone really saw this, and I want to make sure CC sees it because I think it'd be good for people to know how to deal with troublemakers or people who insult them or whatnot, so.. I guess this is a fairly obvious bump? Hey, as long as it's obvious... yeah. /cough Still, I think this would be good.

Why is the report icon (that you see in settings next to your recent thanks) red? I sometimes use it to report an original post with the message "threadmaker requests a lock" so the mods see it. It's not always a bad thing. Also, I wish you could report a whole thread if multiple people are going off-topic. It's not convenient to report each and every off-topic post, and reporting a single post would be unfair to the poster.

I secon-err...third this idea! Maybe make it in blue letters or something? Rd letters would probably scare people since it'll make it look like an "emergency only" button that no one will use.

I agree! Have huge letters that take up half the page saying "REPORT TEH POSTZ!!"

I agree about the report button, it's tiny, I didn't even realise we had one until a few days ago, that's the level my brain works at, please don't make fun or I'll cry, or not or whatever (stop me). It should be enlarged, would some the problem pretty sharpish, the icon is fine though, pretty obvious what it is.
