This is just a friendly suggestion for the showcase area, maybe it will encourage new creators (like me ) and maybe even the veterans to post their very first level. because i think a lot of "first levels" don't end up being published or shared maybe because the creator might wait for their skill to be of acceptable standards (so to speak) before they start sharing? and i think it'll be quite inspiring to see how the "greats" started out (i'm sure a lot of people are curious about what everyones first levels looked like), it also could be a good way of looking back and seeing how the forum users have developed over time and could be a nice entry point for new creators to step into the showcase area without being over shadowed by the more renowned creators? thanks for reading sorry if this is a bad idea or if it's been discussed before (i did a quick search around before i posted this and didn't find anything)

Great topic! My very first level was originally named "Little Good Mad Home" (I know.. Worst name ever.. So I renamed it to something.. I forgot But it was my first level ever

Well it might work if you were only allowed to ever post one topic in it, whether you deleted it or not. But quite honestly, I think of the "greats" wouldnt be interested in posting the first level they ever made, either because they deleted it because it was crap or its still published. And if it was deleted, how could you play it? And if it is published, then its really just another level showcase isnt it?

I kind of agree with this, only because when you post your levels in the showcase levels thread, their so much going on in that thread, that your post doesn't get a look in over the more popular users. I had something like 20 views, when in reality, the number of plays on my levels didn't go up at all. It would be kind of helpful, especially toward the people who are only looking for the 50 plays I suppose.

My first (and only LBP1) level was and is 'Obligatory Christmas Level'. It wasn't very good, but I wanted to start somewhere but would have never put it in a showcase thread! I would have liked a 'safe zone' to put it for feedback though. I made it Christmas day in 2 hours because I realised that I had been creating objects since launch and didn't actually know how to publish. A few weeks later I got a new job, my PS3 died and I didn't go back. LBP2 comes out and I discover that even though I backed up my PS3 and all was fine on the new one; my LBP save was corrupted. My christmas stage was still up with a whopping 17 plays! I had hidden my prototype DeLorean in it and it was the thing I had put the most effort into, so I was happy it was there!

My first level was this super crappy level called bunker defense. Basically you had a paintanator and little circle bombs came rolling at the bunker and you had to shoot them to kill them. Too bad I had the paint sensor on the wrong part of the circles because you couldn't even kill them, I still have it on my moon. I guess if someone was really interested in seeing it they could give me a shout out haha

While I may have updated most of my levels over time... I can't repost or update my first three, they all were corrupted by the level failed to load glitches. My first one was a race through the park at night as a thinder storm tried to kill you...the second was you dreaming you are pres, then you wake up, late to work, and drive your car along a freeway dodging helis nuling you to get to work, the third one was the next part. I did manage to save the car and heli from teh second, but nothign from the first level.

My first level has actually been republished again yesterday, after spending hours fixing all the things that needed editing, special thanks for abyssalassassin helping me out with more or less everything. Watching her edit it, it's given me a few pointers and I'm definitely more clueued on the creating side. I'm already putting what I've learned to use as I'm creating my second level now, and I can see an improvement, not on par as some of the legendary levels I have seen, but an improvement none the less. My first level is called 'the Secret Forest'.
