One of the hardest bronze trophies for PS3

Archive: 17 posts

This is really random but last night i was trying to get the 'quickfire artiste' trophy and after about an hour i finally got it, but my thumb was about to drop off, and when i seen that all i received was a bronze trophy, i remembered what a group of my friends had said to me about LBP.

"I don't know why you play that Game, it's so easy and theres nothing to do"

well in my reply i stated that there is plenty to do in LBP because you can do basically whatever you want, and i also told them, "you try acing all story levels"

But what i'm really getting at here is how hard this trophy was and all you get is a bronze trophy, but for something like acing the whole game you get a gold trophy!

So do you also feel kinda cheated and expected something like a silver trophy for it, or do you think most trophies on the ps3 should be as hard as this and for a smaller value? Or anything else you think!

P.S I'm not trying to sound whiney i'm just curious as to what other people think about this trophy, also sorry if i made no sense =S

This isn't that hard to get really and remember it is DLC content so yeah, it wouldn't be a gold trophy.2010-05-29 12:58:00

I'm also having huge trouble with this trophy, can't understand what I'm doing wrong!

I don't think the trophy should be any higher than a bronze. It only takes 5 seconds to do...

It helps if you tilt the controller up to a 45 degree angle with your left hand.
Then tap r1 with your right index finger but don't actually hold it in your hand, if that makes sense...

Um...well i don't really use a "special method" so i can't really tell you much adice...
Tap the r1 alot or something i guess?

Well, i heard its also easier if you shoot a wall right next to it (not so close that you can't shoot) is that any help?

"you try acing all story levels"

I already did

also to get trophy get paintanator and set max bullets to 40 i think it is and blast as fast as you can.

Note: Use one hand to hold controller and focus the other on pressing R1

I didn't find this difficult at all...got it inadvertently during my first play of the metal gear boss battle. Since I can't aim the paintinator very well I try to make up for it by firing more shots. There have been plenty of games were you have to mash buttons that require faster mashing than this trophy.

I don't really try to get trophies but for LBP I think I've ended up getting all but 2, one I think is about conserving paint shots and the other is doing the final MGS level in under a certain time...if these are also bronze I'd certainly consider them more difficult than quickfire artiste...I'm not even going to attempt them with my terrible aim.

As for advice...what I've done for other mashing games is to not hold the controller normally. Hold it upright with your less dominate hand (I usually have the controller on the floor) and with your free hand just poke the heck out of the button as fast as you can. I find the mash button repeatedly or shake the controller vigorously gameplay very annoying...I hate when games makes you do this.

@Blackfalcon - There's some useful advice for getting this trophy in this thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=19819-Quickfire-Trophy-Help&highlight=quickfire+artiste).

You should certainly checkout the level by Nuclearfish mentioned in the thread as it really helped me to see how many shots I was short of the 40.

I found it really hard as well, I actually got mine because the game glitched up. I was playing a really laggy online game and we were randomly firing the paintinator, next thing I knew I had the trophy

But yeah, I don't really care for trophies. I'll be happy if I get one, but I don't 'hunt' them.

Try putting a plastic pen w/ the clip and putting it in a drill and hold the drill just over the button so the clip hits it rapidly. Be careful using this method for a "mechanical turbo" as resting the rest of the plastic pen can wear a groove in your controller. You will be fine as long as you make sure the clip is the only thing contacting your controller. I used this method to get me through the button mashing scene in MGS4. I also tried this for the torture scene in MGS1 but the scene goes on too long to do it reliably without causing a slight groove. I haven't gotten to use it for this trophy but it will work great for this.2010-06-05 20:32:00

My method of button mashing is to hold the controller in my left hand, put my right thumb or finger over the button (thumb for face buttons, finger for shoulder buttons, obviously) and loosely grip the controller with my right hand. Then I just shake my whole forearm. The forearm muscles just seem to be a lot faster than the fingers. Um.... why are you guys looking at me like that?

Remember the torture scene in MGS1, and how, in the cell, Snake told Naomi his arm hurt? She told him (you) to put the controller against your arm and vibrated it to massage your arm. Your arm hurt from all the button mashing you had to do to get through the torture. I didn't catch that until my fourth or fifth play-through. I had always put the controller on the wrong arm, and just hadn't made the connection, but that time my right arm actually did hurt, so I put the controller on it and I was like "Oooooh. That's what they were getting at."
