Suggestion - Age Rating on Levels?
Archive: 9 posts
I dont know about some of you, but at some point, quite a few sackfolk are likely to have thought about making a level that wouldn't be suitable for 7 year olds. I was thinking, prehaps they could put some kind of age restriction method on levels, that stops you playing levels of a certain rating? It could use the PEGI ratings used in UK and whatever rating system other countries use prehaps.. What do you guys think, good idea or not? | 2010-05-29 11:00:00 Author: Matimoo Posts: 1027 |
Declared by who? There's bound to be creators who are ready to troll the system. And wouldn't 16+ or 18+ rating just draw the small folk around? Then creators would tag their levels 18+ (with the most violent thing is when your Sack gets keel'd by fire) and get 10,000 plays in a week. May kaskaroto take note. | 2010-05-29 11:16:00 Author: Unknown User |
Just slap 15+ on the level title? | 2010-05-29 18:13:00 Author: Chamion B Posts: 124 |
Yeah, but your level would get still taken down even if you put 15+ on the title. | 2010-05-29 18:49:00 Author: resistance1 Posts: 812 |
Unlike the rest of these people, I think, this is a great Idea. It wouldn't have to be an age rating, just a "This level contains graphic/disturbing/[your age restriction here] content, player discretion is advised." | 2010-05-29 20:28:00 Author: nitewalker11 Posts: 222 |

I think we just have to accept the fact that LBP is rated E and LBP2 will likely be the same. I'm not exactly sure what it is you are proposing, but I do think it would be great if the idea of ratings tags along with a parental control built into LBP that allowed parents to filter out levels tagged with M or T ratings were put into it, but the fact is that most parents who buy LBP for their kids will take one look at the game, see Sackboy's smiling face, and never give the game a second thought after buying it. The filters wouldn't be used and as soon as mom sees Timmy playing Little Big Grand Theft Auto, Fox news will be all over it and the next thing you know a wild eyed Hilary Clinton will be taking copies of LBP2 off the shelves and tossing them into the dumpster. | 2010-05-29 23:52:00 Author: Reef1978 Posts: 527 |
"This level requires you actually read something/[your reading level restriction here] content, player discretion is advised." Fixed. In all honesty I'd just use it for story heavy levels that the average LBP'er 1*'s for having to read something other than "Heart if you want me to continue my bomb survival series!" | 2010-05-30 06:57:00 Author: 4wheel Posts: 511 |
Other than disturbing pics made by Eyecams (or stickers/cutouts of the same subject), I really can't see how one makes 15+ material in LBP. Maybe it's my lack of graphic talent | 2010-05-30 17:29:00 Author: Unknown User |
I haven't seen any real "13+" levels unless you intentionally put in the search "Scary pop-up" but even then it really isn't that frightening if any. LBP is just to "E" | 2010-05-30 17:41:00 Author: Kody59527 Posts: 121 |
