With sackpeople constantly having to travel to snowy mountains, foreign planets, volcanoes, cathedrals, canyons, newspapers, human bodies, and just about everywhere else, PSP immigrants have no place to rest, eat, sleep, bathe, take care of pets, or even play video games. As privileged citizens of LittleBigPlanet, it is our duty to right this wrong. Sackpeople work hard to bring joy to our hearts, and have been seared, electrocuted, gassed, poked, squashed, popped, and flung around for the sake of our entertainment. Let us give back and provide a stable shelter for them to recuperate after a tiring adventure into the unknown. So what will it be? Will they live in a pineapple under the sea? Or a banana cabana in the Savannah? Maybe something posh and grand like a French chateau or Italian villa in the countryside, or perhaps something small and cozy like a shoe or a gingerbread house next to a fireplace? Mayhaps they live in an underground cave with a bear and vodka, or in a communal spaceship with some familiar neighbors? Whatever you come up with, I'm sure your little furry friend will appreciate it! Here are some interesting house concepts to help get you striking those hammers: http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/shell-house-in-isla-mujeres-mexico-.jpg http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/istanbul_underwater_hotel.jpg http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/house10.jpg http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/ice_palace_or_ice_castle_2.jpg http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/weisman_external.jpg http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/steampunk1.jpg http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/Train.jpg http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/solar-winds-coffee-house_1_TIH4Y_24.jpg http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/house_boat_mare_village1.jpg http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/Howl-s-Moving-Castle-howls-moving-c.jpg http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/bridge-house.jpg The Blueprint You may use any material or sticker to make your house, including those from DLC. Aha! I've been looking forward to this particular round of YWMTMW for a while now. The house concept photos alone are worth entering the contest just to look at. Hmm... I may have had an idea for my just for fun entry. That means that I may actually make one this time! Time to hit create mode - my kart could use little time in the pits anyway. | 2010-05-29 07:02:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |

@ Taffey Yay! I can't wait to see what you come up with Taff! I bet it will have a space movie reference though! Hehe. How and what exactly are the houses judged by? I'm sure you can make the deadline--you have one full month! I know you're busy with two levels, but if you ever need a break... Okay, so we generally judge on things like creativity and execution, which are highly subjective, but we have three judges with diverse tastes to diminish any significant biases. Of course, though, this doesn't necessarily mean that a winning level is both highly creative and constructed impeccably. For instance, a level may be really creative but have construction flaws, or perhaps an entry isn't creative at all, but immaculately constructed. In these instances, the flaws can be overlooked if some other parts are superb. I hope this helps describe the judging process a little bit more... @ The Forgotten You can do it! You have a whole four weeks! @ ali Judging from your past levels and great reviews for your Invader Zim level so far, I'm sure this entry will be a killer one ali! Thanks for your continued support in these contests. Also, on behalf of Jonze, you forgot "launched around". There, all fixed! Thanks for the suggestion B3, I can't wait to see your blue house. "Yo listen up here's a story About a little guy that lives in a blue world And all day and all night and everything he sees Is just blue like him inside and outside Blue his house with a blue little window And a blue corvette And everything is blue for him and hisself And everybody around Cos he ain't got nobody to listen" I'm blue da ba dee da ba die, jeffcu28 | 2010-05-29 21:26:00 Author: jeffcu28 Posts: 648 |

Count me in! I am great at making things that cover a small area, like a house or an object (I mean, look at my hand made pogo prototype. VelcroJonze said it is better than the one from turbo, handling wise). | 2010-05-31 01:31:00 Author: ConverseFox Posts: 2333 |

I've made my first entry! Not the best, but it's a sort of test version for my next entry(I have so many ideas, it's impossible to keep them in one level). It's called Test Pod centre and the psn is Jysgdcv. Will I get marked down for being over-enthusiastic? Because I'm finding myself spending most of my create time on my entry's. | 2010-06-02 09:11:00 Author: The Forgotten Posts: 316 |
Hey TheForgotten, It's the opposite! Enthusiasm gives you bonus points! Hehe. Thank you for your first entry. I can't wait to see what you came up with...and the many more you'll eventually create. I made a harry potter spoof a while ago called barry trotter. About pigs. I got as far as an epic title sequence then got stuck and it ended up in my recycle crater, a place where all my failed ideas go. One day, it will finally be made, but for now it will stay there gathering dust... | 2010-06-02 16:17:00 Author: The Forgotten Posts: 316 |
Does Hogwarts count as a house? Well, Harry did live in it! Hehe. "House" is defined very loosely for the sake of this competition, so any "building" or other form of shelter (a floating space craft) counts as a house... Hope this clarifies, jeffcu28 | 2010-06-03 10:04:00 Author: jeffcu28 Posts: 648 |
Pardon me for the double post, but I have some urgent public street announcement: http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/LittleBigPress.png Homeless Sackpeople Everywhere LITTLEBIGPLANET-In what seems to be the biggest catastrophe of our time, sackpeople everywhere on the community moon have been found loitering in various random levels, desperately searching for a place to call home. Some have set up cardboard boxes inside a cozy cathedral, only to be fumigated by a lethal Botafumeiro. Others have sought shelter under an umbrella in the streets, pelted by aerial fecal matter. Still, some have set up flimsy, temporary huts in the tropics searching endlessly for Idols with the hopes of one day buying a proper home. Finally, a few have been spotted trespassing the renowned Custard Chocolate manufacturing plant, but none have ever been seen leaving the facility. The lack of housing in the community has forced these hard working individuals into hostile environments. Dr. Fastbro, a leading epidemiologist at the LBPU Medical Center, warned about the poor living conditions of these sackpeople. "Those who relocated on the street are exposed to a rare form of drug-resistant avian virus, while those in search of Idols in the tropics have a high chance of getting bit by disease-carrying mosquitoes." The real estate company The Forgotten has not forgotten about these homeless sacks. The CEO promises a cheap but lavish housing option made of a synthetic insulating cardboard material. The housing unit, called a "Pod Centre," features a spacious atrium overlooking the landscape of outerspace, a fully furnished kitchen, bathroom, office room, living room, and bedroom, as well as an affordable rocket vehicle for transportation. The Forgotten claims to be producing more models, and with a current monopoly on the real estate market, the company is expected to win big time if no other competitors can find a clever solution to this housing crisis. -jeffcu28, Associated Press http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/IMG_3278.jpg http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/IMG_3281.jpg http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/IMG_3282.jpg http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/jcua28/IMG_3283.jpg TOP: The atrium of the "Pod Centre" looking over the vastness of space. Nice... I have to get started. It's tough though, seems like autobuild kicks in every time I try and I end up with platforming and not a house. Putting in the launche- I mean, the bedding, B3 | 2010-06-08 02:22:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
Okay so... not the dirty metal. Not the blue plastic. I can live without those. But I never had to... they always worked for me. I was convinced that I would have no problems with Turbo materials. So I use one of my new favorite materials, the blue quilting, which I really needed for this level... *Head asplode.* So needless to say, I'm starting all over. Again. Slightly frustrated, B3 | 2010-06-08 13:57:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |

Slightly frustrated, B3 First, make the level without turbo material. Then, copy the level so there is two. Next, change whatever materials from one of the levels to the ones you want(including Turbo!). Finally, Check to see if it works, and if it dose congrats. But if it doesn't, go to the other one and use different materials(not Turbo!). | 2010-06-08 15:13:00 Author: ConverseFox Posts: 2333 |

So I use one of my new favorite materials, the blue quilting, which I really needed for this level... *Head asplode.* So needless to say, I'm starting all over. Again. Slightly frustrated, B3 That happened to me on one of my other entries. I made an epic looking character and had made most of the base of the level. It kept loading, which I was really annoyed about, but I had made a very early backup, so I started working on that one. I hadn't read that the turbo pack materialscause this, so I used the same materials and BAM! It doesn't work anymore. I have't tried to make another entry yet, but after today I will have three days spare time before my big exams, so I should be able at least to make a better one, I have so many ideas, just not all of them work! Hoping I win by default and copying Jeffs style, The Forgotten | 2010-06-09 11:23:00 Author: The Forgotten Posts: 316 |
I think I'm going to make everything out of basic wood, copy it, then change the materials to the ideal look. If that version crashes, I'll just go to the backup and paint it with non-turbo. Not letting you win by default, B3 | 2010-06-09 13:11:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |

I was making my house, which is all "green", but my level corrupted from the Turbo! pack bug. The problem is I never used materials from the Turbo! pack. It was a good thing I had copies of the level. So I'm just warning everyone, it's not just the materials. | 2010-06-12 01:07:00 Author: TheNerd Posts: 840 |

I started work on my new entry, Metro Mole-Holes. It's a series of large and creative homes dug into great walls of material left abandoned by creators. It's not going to be blue though. Includes all the normal house rooms, plus a training course for new sacks and a room for costume changing. Ok! I made my just-for-fun entry... but now I am second guessing as to whether or not I want to show you all what it is. I decided to kill two birds with one stone and make something that I could also use in my next Star Bores level, Episode VI. Hmm. Well, if I kept it hidden away that just wouldn't be sporting, and all of you would think I was just making things up so that it would seem like I created something for the contest but really didn't. Oh, alright. What's the fun in keeping secrets? I'll post a picture of it when I get home tonight. whoa wat is this turbo glitch that everyone has been talking about i used turbo materials It does not happen right then and there. You're still at risk from the corrupt bug, since you used the materials. It may not happen now, but it can happen. It helps if you exit to the "My Moon" copy the level somewhere and then play test it. This can help to avoid the bug. But it's best not to use the materials at all. Oh, and even if you don't use materials from the Turbo! pack, there's still a 1% chance your level can get corrupted. | 2010-06-23 01:18:00 Author: TheNerd Posts: 840 |

It's finished, but I'd rather not embarrass myself with my pathetic entry. It's all about how you market it. If you tell everyone you created your house using only a chopstick clenched between your teeth while standing on your head in an airport shuttle, we'll all be very impressed indeed. | 2010-06-23 01:44:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
It's finished, but I'd rather not embarrass myself with my pathetic entry. Oh, don't be like that. I know that my entry, which has barely even been started, couldn't stand a chance against the houses submitted so far. I'm still going to try to finish building it in time to enter it, even though I'm certain that it'll only make everyone else's houses look better. It doesn't make sense for you to withhold your entry for fear of embarrassment when I myself am submitting an entry that is inferior in comparison to yours without fear of embarrassment. That said, I'll be waiting to see what you made. | 2010-06-23 02:45:00 Author: Starchy Posts: 353 |

"You can never miss, if you never take the shot." why would i want to miss? Well, you'd probably want to miss if the target were, say, a pile of impact shockbombs, at point-blank range. | 2010-06-23 03:12:00 Author: Starchy Posts: 353 |

I made thousands of awesome changes to my level but know it is corrupt!! I only make copy's of my main levels. I'll have to do it all again on the first version before Friday. I think I've abandoned my other entry, but I'll have a quick go at it to see if I can be bothered to make a massive floating house... | 2010-06-23 07:29:00 Author: The Forgotten Posts: 316 |

It does not happen right then and there. You're still at risk from the corrupt bug, since you used the materials. It may not happen now, but it can happen. It helps if you exit to the "My Moon" copy the level somewhere and then play test it. This can help to avoid the bug. But it's best not to use the materials at all. Oh, and even if you don't use materials from the Turbo! pack, there's still a 1% chance your level can get corrupted. i used some kind of plastic i think both , water ripples, and cork i hope it dont crash DX. and i published it and downloaded it and it works what corrupt you mean ruin my game ? so wat should i do delete the materials ? i'm scared XD | 2010-06-23 18:15:00 Author: lbp is awespme Posts: 657 |

Awesome entries guys! I'm really enjoying this contest's competitors! (( From order of houses.)) @The Forgotten Cool house! I like the pod the most. It gives me that landing feeling, you know? @famouscustard Great level! I like the books (ugh, I hate the movies though. Too much teen drama), so seeing Harry Potter's world in LBP is really fun. @SketchNZ Nice apartment. As I already said, the living room's my favorite room. I mean, just look at that plasma TV! @ali985 Awesome house! I liked the Alice in Wonderland feel to it. What's more, your room's positioning was a great touch. Bonus for the view of the pillar in the background in the room at the far top right. @crazy555 I like your house, but I was hoping for more "stuff" in the cave. I know cave(wo)men don't have much to keep, but it would give the level more "pizzazz!". Other than that, very original! @lbp is awespme Not sure what you did with this. Still, from the pics, it must be part platformer, and I love platformers. So yeah, I can't wait to play it. @TheNerd I freaking love your house! It's possibly my most favorite one too! The way you can site see around it, but still get to play the level (the training room I believe) is definately a bonus in my book! Great job! @Taffey Awesome Sauce! Nuff said. That's it for now. I'll comment on other houses to come (if I can). Peace | 2010-06-23 20:16:00 Author: CyberSora Posts: 5551 |

And I'm done! The house is for sell (only $0.00) and it is online! Now just to give you the heads up on it, here's what it's based on: http://images1.fanpop.com/images/image_uploads/Howl-s-Moving-Castle-howls-moving-castle-913538_1024_768.jpg Wallpaper of the movie Howl's Moving Castle. http://asteroid.cs.linfield.edu/~jengomp/Projects/Project%201/Images%20and%20links/Project1b/Images/spirited_away.jpg Screenshot from the movie Spirited Away. That's right! My level's name is Howl's Spirited Castle! Now I know it's just a house contest, but I put a LOT of effort in it, so I'll be just devistated to see it sit on MyMoon only to get digital dust on it. That's why I'm making a level (or levels) on it! It's probably going to be a series instead of just one level of both movies interacting with each other. Maybe they'll interactthrough war. I'm predicting its release in late July or early August. Still, it's going to be awesome! Oh, and the windmill at the top of the castle's from here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyHNuVaZJ-k And the idea of mashing up these ideas came from here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNzrwh2Z2hQ Yes, I did have a boat load of inspiration! And I'm loving it! :hero: Anyways, sorry for the subliminal advertisement. But yeah, this is what happens when non-stop Creating kicks in. What, you don't believe me? Trust me, I'm tired. I haven't slept for more than 4 hours a day. I did two all-nighters1, and I haven't gone at least 5 minutes without something wrong going on with my PSP (battery, lag, etc..) Overall, I used two battery's per day2 on my PSP. I did at least 72-96 hours worth of Playing, Creating, Deleting, Corner Editing... Etc.-ing! My fingers hurt, my teeth hurt3, and I'm starving since I wanted to publish my level already before I made something to eat (macaroni's in my mind). So yeah, I tried being nice today without ripping someone's head off from exhaustion, but I think I did good in keeping my head cool4. But still, I'm sorry for wrecking havoc in any way, from extending the time, to my rant right now. Once again, sorry. So... have a good night everybody! 5 Peace 1 If you don't know, an all-nighter is when you do something all night. In my case, Creating. 2 What? I have a spare battery. Don't you? 3 From grinding them in fustration. 4 Although, I kind of blamed B3 for everything I got fustrated at. So sorry man, no hard feelings? 5 What, to bi-polar? Well that's from the lack of sleep. Also, I just wanted to post another footnote. To make 5, you know? Of course you don't. And I'm just talking to myself. | 2010-06-26 04:34:00 Author: CyberSora Posts: 5551 |
I love howls moving castle and spirited away! They are so awesome! I also based my level on the windmill in gorrilaz, I've loved that video ever since I first saw it! I hope mine isn't too similar.I probably should have done it for the make believe mobile round. I really want to win, but everyones looks so much better than mine. When does judging end | 2010-06-26 17:34:00 Author: lbp is awespme Posts: 657 |
When does judging endI hate to speak for jc on this, but I think I can lend some insight on this. Not much insight mind you - just a little. Too much insight makes the monsters under your bed hungry for liver, as the saying goes. So, judging will take between 28 minutes and 57 million years, depending on whether or not we can get the flux capacitor tuned properly. The last time we tried something like this I ended up being stuck in the Mesozoic Era for ages, and when I finally came back I was (again) reverted to an embryonic state. We were able to send me back to the 80's so that I would have time to regrow my appendages, but waiting for the PSP to be invented again was very boring. Barring any and all temporal rift issues, there's also the matter of bribing our crack squad of over-caffeinated gibbons with Sour Patch straws so that they can play and rate your entries. I don't want to give too much else away about the process of using primates to perform manual labor for us, but I will say that's how amazingflyingpoo got his name. Does that answer your question? | 2010-06-26 17:46:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |

Oh, that's good to know! They still have it on the future's Island of California? So have they finished constructing the bridge? Is it still officially part of the US?No, apparently the Mathematician's Republic of Califormula withdrew from the Northern Hemispheric Grammatician's League over a tussle about whether or not the ampersand was a letter of the alphabet. That's why it's called 'mac & cheese' on the west coast and "macaroni and cheese" everywhere else. Note the double quotes for accuracy. More pictures incoming! First, here are a few more screenshots of ali's YWMTMW palace that I missed the first time. I'll update my original post with these as well: http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/Contests/YWMTMW%20Round%204/20100624-195042.jpg http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/Contests/YWMTMW%20Round%204/20100624-195031.jpg http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/Contests/YWMTMW%20Round%204/20100624-195011.jpg http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/Contests/YWMTMW%20Round%204/20100624-195138.jpg | 2010-06-26 19:45:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |

when will judging end Patience young grasshopper. Judging will end soon enough. Let me tell you a little bit how judging works so you know why it takes time. First, all three judges--Taffey, xero, and I--have to play each and every level entry for the contest and rank our top three favorites independently. If there is a clear-cut winner, then we announce it right away! However, if one judge disagrees, there is a tie for the number one spot, or we don't have a common favorite, then we use a more in-depth judging criteria. After narrowing down the list of entries to our favorites, we give them a score or letter grade on specific things like creativity, originality, and construction. We then tabulate the results, and the entry with the highest score is the winner. Seeing as there are a lot of fantastic entries this round, I doubt that we'll reach a unanimous verdict the first time. We'll probably have to use a rubric on our favorites, and the winner will be chosen that way. We should have the results within a few days. Does that sound good to you? Thanks for understanding. so like when monday tuesday wednsday thursday On Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 23:37:43.314159 GMT. That's when Taffey's, xero's, and my intergalactic coordinates will match for about 0.0000000001 nanoseconds. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to feed my ninja primates or they'll stop doing manual labor, the flux capacitor will overflow into the quantum processors, the pirates will take over, Taffey will never be born, and thus, judging will never end... Finishing my mac and cheese in the floating island of California, jeffcu28 | 2010-06-27 21:53:00 Author: jeffcu28 Posts: 648 |
I'm holding you to that time. BY THE NANOSECOND. :kz: Also, my research confirms that Taffey never being born has a very high potential of creating a space-time rift in the present day that will swallow the universe. Either that or the all mac and cheese on the future's island of California will expand to thousands of times their normal size, killing most of the population, but yet solving world hunger. We're counting on you, judges! | 2010-06-28 00:29:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
On Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 23:37:43.314159 GMTI thought we had agreed on a more precise time, but I suppose that will do. | 2010-06-28 01:03:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
Well, good news and horrible news. The good news: I'm well rested and now I'm going to work on the "Wheely Good Sticker" contest! The horrible news: MY MOTHER [BEEP] DATA IS CORRUPTED! D: I can't believe that Howl's Spirited Castle didn't corrupted. Honestly, every time I Corner Edited the thing, it froze my PSP for 10-20 seconds. But no, last night, my PSP just crashed on me! Yeah! So sorry to say this, but here's what you're not going to be playing for a while: My Lost Levels Down The Sewers [REMAKE] ( Really, again! ) Howl's Spirited Castle: The New Apprentice ( This was my contest entry. ) Fall Down! ( It was an iPod game that I was remaking in the PSP. Now it's gone. ) How To Make a Boss Battle (This was for Taffey's tutorial thread. Again, wa! ) Jungle Safari Series [Working Title] ( Nuff said. ) So yeah, all the projects I had going on are gone. This is why I had no level out yet, because I was working on so many projects in the same time. But now I have nothing. So overall, lesson learned: MY LIFE SUCKS! Blasted time machine! I was in the process of posting this and then realized it was still 28 years before jc was going to announce the winners. How awkward would that be? So, I altered the time post settings and now it's 28 hours late... If you think the H and M buttons on your alarm clock are bad just imagine what we have to deal with. Anyway, congrats to the winners! All of the entries were incredibly impressive, but Cyber's castle really blew our socks off.
