http://lbp.me/v/s-7pqx Hey friends. I know, it seems like I just made a level, but I've got another one for you all. This follows in the tradition of releasing levels that are nothing like my previous work, so I hope you enjoy it. Please note that this level is very hard, and I understand that some people will not appreciate that. If you don't like hard levels, give this one a pass. If that is your thing... take on Roland von Rollerbottom in this challenging, yet rewarding, platforming level. Regarding the level itself, the main mechanic was inspired by CaptainCowboyHat's most recent level, OH NO!!! The Princess!! World 7: Pipe Maze. What that means is you should expect to see quite a few rolling barrels. They are fun to watch, but quite deadly. Keep an eye out for secrets, which are scattered all throughout the level. Special thanks goes out to Luke (Mamett-Box), for making one of the roller sections (you can find a little cutout of him somewhere in the level). There's not much else to say, but... Enjoy! Some pictures to whet appetites (note that these were before the final decoration): http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/6502/aphoto10.jpg http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/2973/aphoto11.jpg http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/6117/aphoto12.jpg http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/2019/aphoto13.jpg http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/7577/aphoto14v.jpg http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/5606/aphoto15.jpg http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/6774/aphoto16.jpg <---- Roland von Rollerbottom | 2010-05-29 00:40:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |

EeeeeeeEeeEeEeEeEeEeWwwwWwWwWw!!! Another comphermc level? It's smelly! But if you burn it, it'll smell worse, so I guess i'll play it. | 2010-05-29 00:46:00 Author: bonner123 Posts: 1487 |
I only just played the beta today, like an hour ago so I don't suppose it's changed much from then, so I'll talk bout it now To be honest, in terms of suggestions, bugs and the like - I failed to see any except for a few visible sound objects and switches - but this may have been edited out since I last played! Or they're supposed to be there - either way. I liked all of the obstacles, although they could be frustrating at times, but it was all good fun, and I enjoyed the fact that before you embarked on an attempt to complete an obstacle, you had to sit down and look at the pattern, before drawing yourself a path through. You had to be quite precise with your movements, as the obstacles were ever changing, and I loved this. The boss started off quite simple, but to be honest, after recognising the pattern of the boss, it was actually easier than many bits of the actual level! The storyline seemed a bit confusing, because it felt like you kind of just jumped right into the end of a slightly longer story - so maybe a prequel might be needed, in order for it to make more sense? I know it wasn't intended to be an in depth story, but even still. And the pendulums were quite tricky - but then again, it was meant to be a tricky level so that's alright! All in all, a great puzzler, and was very fun to play. I just hope the general community goes easy on it, because it is that little bit harder than some levels we're used to. 5 starred, and hearted! | 2010-05-29 00:59:00 Author: standby250 Posts: 1113 |
OMG, yes! I've been waiting for comphermc to make a new level for a while now. I'll definitely check this out. (: | 2010-05-29 01:04:00 Author: Mastadom Posts: 195 |

The boss started off quite simple, but to be honest, after recognising the pattern of the boss, it was actually easier than many bits of the actual level! Yeah, I think the challenge will be when the player refuses to recognize the patterns. Oh well... they made it that far... I'm sure they can handle it. The storyline seemed a bit confusing, because it felt like you kind of just jumped right into the end of a slightly longer story - so maybe a prequel might be needed, in order for it to make more sense? Yeah, nice and simple with the story I think fits for me. If you read the description, it will make a bit more sense. Thanks for the little mini-review. I'm glad there is a place for levels of difficulty... as they are more fun for me to play. It was nice dabbling with that whole concept. | 2010-05-29 01:16:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
Ohh my god those pics look so good, I'm totally going to play it now! | 2010-05-29 01:19:00 Author: ferrrch Posts: 429 |
Very interesting. I like the varied and original challenges, though most weren't that hard to figure out. Things started getting dicey for me around the conveyor belt/electric death part, but I was definitely just dying there because I was getting careless by that point, so it's definitely a fair challenge. The boss was pretty simple, and I think I would have liked to have seen some more variety during that fight (like have both barrels come down at the same time every few steps, instead of just keeping the same left-right pattern all the time). Great visuals and polish, I didn't run across any bugs on my playthrough. Putting bonuses in dangerous-to-reach areas is pretty devious too, nice touch. :star::star::star::star::star: and <3'ed. | 2010-05-29 01:21:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
Woohoo! Gonna play Looks really good. A bit generic (yet detailed) in visuals, assuming that by the pictures, but I'm sure the level will make up for anything with its gameplay :] | 2010-05-29 01:23:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |

A bit generic (yet detailed) in visuals, assuming that by the pictures, but I'm sure the level will make up for anything with its gameplay :] Nail on the head if I've ever seen it, but I did go through and all lots of details. It still looks grungy and whatnot, but much less "plain." | 2010-05-29 01:30:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
First things first: THIS LEVEL WAS AWESOME! You know, the feeling you get when you're playing a hard level? This feeling where you just want to give up and rage quit. Well, be surprised that Roller Inc. isn't one of them Pros: -Its just so beautiful and well structured that you want to see what's next, even if it's the 20th time you die. You still want to continue! -Diggin' those wires (the boss was awesome) -I played it with Morgana, so you'll be impressed that we hunted EVERY single bubble there was. I was lucky we didn't restart the level to get some (Don't ever change Morg ) -I liked your little promotional images in the level that I put some in my pod Cons: Where is mah wat0rZ ???6? A really good level similar to CaptainCowboyHat that definitely stands out. :star::star::star::star::star: and a lovely <3 | 2010-05-29 01:39:00 Author: Chump Posts: 1712 |
Gosh Comphermc, you published it after I got off my PS3. Well whatever. I only have to wait a few hours | 2010-05-29 01:43:00 Author: GreatWhite000 Posts: 673 |
Argh! Now the rest of the world can play it (and fail like me). Nice job man. PS: Roller Inc. is a naff name, whatever happened to THE FACTORY OF DOOOOM? You'd've got a hell of a lot more plays with that methinks. | 2010-05-29 02:00:00 Author: Holguin86 Posts: 875 |
PS: Roller Inc. is a naff name, whatever happened to THE FACTORY OF DOOOOM? You'd've got a hell of a lot more plays with that methinks. Haha. I suppose I might've, but it would be targeting a slightly different demographic. | 2010-05-29 02:03:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
First things first, High Score! (Like 2000pts or 1900pts, something like that i can't remember) In yer face Gilgamesh and all the others there! (jk ) Now to the level! Pretty awesome level indeed m8! Great visuals, comedy, and challenging gameplay, what else can you ask for! Sure i found a couple of itsy bitsy things preoblems (f you can even call them that), but i already told ye about them, so there's no prob there. Ha and the boss was great, that guy's just plain awesome coveered in comedy and dipped in more awesome! In short, sweet level m8, gets ya 5/5 :star: + <3. | 2010-05-29 02:50:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Silverleon First things first, High Score! (Like 2000pts or 1900pts, something like that i can't remember) In yer face Gilgamesh and all the others there! Not anymore! And on my 1st try lol. 1st place! Ehem...anyway I found no problems accept for the one I pointed out earlier (scoreboard but you said it acts stupid lol). Also I see you made the boss slightly harder. I had 2900 points but couldnt figure out a safe way to jump in. It was like playing double dutch...but once I got in I didnt go down lol. Only thing I didnt like is that we dont get points for beating him (or do we? I didnt notice any change...). Great gameplay, visuals and replay value! :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 from me. | 2010-05-29 04:02:00 Author: L1GhTmArE Posts: 519 |

I tried compher... I tried.... but I didn't make it to the end...! Played it earlier, but it's late, so I was a little tired... Maybe I'll give it another try tomorrow after a good night of sleep! Hard levels are not my cup of tea but from what I played so far and the parts that you showed me in create mode, I can tell that it's a great level, nicely and smartly done as usual...! | 2010-05-29 04:32:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |
Darn you posting brilliant levels the exact same moment I post mine...! (j/k ) I enjoyed the pipes in this level - they were beautiful... So... Beautiful... Mmmm... Anyway, I liked the green plasma, but would it hurt to change the rollers to a green colored plasmified material? Probably. It just might fit better. Loved the boss - so complicated! Unfortunately, I only played the beta, so I'm just gonna let the finished version fly by me... I'll try it tomorrow - but I can't guarantee success! | 2010-05-29 05:00:00 Author: Richasackboy Posts: 619 |
I'm tired so this is jumbled: Well, it's amazing! You've outdone yourself! There was only one thing that stood out as bad to me that could be edited easily: little jumps after checkpoints before hard sections. There were two times in the level where I thought this was unnecessary, one before the boss. What's the point of a jump like that? It just adds an extra 1-3 seconds of time after each respawn, which adds up to a lot. I think jumps like those are fairly pointless gameplay-wise because they're just regular jumps and a player who could get that far in a level could easily make a jump like that, it's just time-consuming and unnecessary. I beat it with 3 people, and I'll go for a high score run next on 1 player. :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3! | 2010-05-29 05:48:00 Author: Incinerator22 Posts: 3251 |
I rated it 5 stars, dunno if I gave it a heart lol. If not I will next time. Me and JspOt and Shhabbazz never made it to the end. Great level. | 2010-05-29 05:52:00 Author: GreatWhite000 Posts: 673 |

It just adds an extra 1-3 seconds of time after each respawn, which adds up to a lot. I think jumps like those are fairly pointless gameplay-wise because they're just regular jumps and a player who could get that far in a level could easily make a jump like that, it's just time-consuming and unnecessary. I will address this, as it's been mentioned several times now, but I assure you that it's not "just 'cause." You know how when playing with multiple players, if one person dies when the checkpoint is on the edge of the screen, the respawn will hijack the camera and pan it way over to the checkpoint? In the process, the player that had not died can now no longer see anything around them? Yeah, I am avoiding that. In addition to that, you should notice that a planeshift back one layer is necessary. This is done due to the way the boss is constructed. Thus, a jump was pretty necessary. I know it seems simple, but it is done for a reason. I need the checkpoint to be far off to the right and I need there to be a jump, so the way it is now works well. I am going to assume that you died quite a few times by respawning and running to the left? Haha. That's what Javi told me that he did. I did extend that ledge ever so slightly to give you more time for the jump, but otherwise I would suggest you slow down! Any other checkpoints that seemed separated by "simple jumps" were done for similar reasons. I went through the level with Javi last night in create mode, as he had similar concerns, but after explaining each one, he understood. | 2010-05-29 12:31:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
Heya Compher! I played it yesterday at 2.30, lol. I've heard that this level was going to be hard, but not this hard, wow. I am glad I didn't throw my controller at my TV when I got half trough the level because it was Brilliant, all the way but hard (really hard). when I played for a while I thought this level just most have an epic boss..I loved the gameplay and obstacles they were great, never seen anything like these obstacles before like the ones in this level. I liked that I actually for once needed to stop up and think how your next move would, or you die. And that's what I liked with the level. I would really like to see more levels like this in the future from you. The boss was excellent, but a bit too easy if you compare what you gone trough. oh and everyone, you should turn on prizes, because the stickers you get are awesome Btw, it's positive that it's hard :star::star::star::star::star: and a well deserved <3 from me! | 2010-05-29 12:57:00 Author: Alec Posts: 3871 |
5 stars and heart. Loved the characters and enemies Improve: When you die on the boss, it's annoying having to jump from the ledge the checkpoint is on. I'd hide another checkpoint behind the pillar opposite it, just to make it flow better. | 2010-05-29 13:03:00 Author: Unknown User |
I'll be playing this again! I died way too many times in the beta version! I was offline when I played it so I'll have another go and give it the :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 that it deserves! | 2010-05-29 13:10:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |
That wasn't easy, but I completed it ! And I really enjoyed myself. I've played levels way easier but way more frustrating. I liked the level design, but I especially like the character design of the villain I never get tired of playing levels with incredible jointed characters. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us, I'm a big fan ! | 2010-05-29 13:51:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
Alright, I conceded a bit with the ledge on the final boss. It is now possible to make that gap by just running to the left. Also, added a few stickers, sounds, and changed the visibility on some pistons. Thanks for all the kind words, everyone. I was worried that this level would be poorly received. But, you've made it all worth it. | 2010-05-29 14:14:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
I tried to play through yesterday, but at 3 am I was just too tired for anything that requires more than just holding r1 lol. Ill try the finished version again hopefully later if I manage to get home early. From playing the unfinished version with you, I can say that its highly polished with great well thught out gameplay and amazing visuals. The design style reminds me a lot of sonic XD. Its rediculously hard.100000 plays, 3 hearts lol. | 2010-05-29 14:40:00 Author: SteveBigGuns Posts: 423 |
OMG, yes! I've been waiting for comphermc to make a new level for a while now. I'll definitely check this out. (: for a while?? what, like 2 days? lol I'm not a fan of these super difficult levels, but this one is quite nice. I liked the colors and lighting that u used and the decorations are amazing. The posters throughout the level are simply beautiful. Also, the boss fight is one of the most amazing and complex bosses I've seen to date. It nice that no matter what kind of level comphy makes, we can still expect a great quality level. If you feel like testing your LBP skills, this level is a must! | 2010-05-29 17:55:00 Author: javi haguse Posts: 744 |
You know, dude, if you didn't churn out these levels so fast they might not be of such shoddy quality. Just a tip! Also, I'll probably end up struggling through this later today because I hate myself. | 2010-05-29 18:07:00 Author: monstahr Posts: 1361 |
Awwright comphy - you knew I'd hate this, but because I am a crazed fanatic of your work, I decided to go against your advice (and my better judgment) and give it a try. ROFLMAO - ZOMG!!! I never made it past the intro. That's right: I never got to see ONE rolling barrel thingy! I tried like thirty times to make that series of jumps in the time allotted. Oh my goodness, I am such an utter failure at anything requiring the least bit of real gaming skillz. tee-hee Good job though. Out of sheer respect (and the little demo you gave me last week): :star::star::star::star::star: <3 | 2010-05-29 18:56:00 Author: v0rtex Posts: 1878 |
Haha, v0rtex. Hm... I wish I could offer words of encouragement, but not even the first part?? I don't think you would've liked all the grabby gameplay, to be honest, but I appreciate your valiant efforts. | 2010-05-29 19:08:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |

Hey Compher, this level looks amazing! You make a month of creating sound like a long time, I can't believe you've managed such a slick design so fast! I'll play it as soon as I have a chance! Also, just wondering, how did you get that badge image? It's awesome! http://i.neoseeker.com/mgv/272671-Blackfalcon/671/5/animal0064hb2_display.gif | 2010-05-29 20:37:00 Author: Blackfalcon Posts: 409 |
Nice level. Your boss reminded me of Dr. Robotnik though.. (I HATE ROBOTNIIK) Anyway, there is a problem on those platforms that move too fast, on the very first one, after a couple of tries, it launched me all the way to the top, so I was able to skip all of the other obstacles, haha. Great level though. I got stuck in the "release valve" part. I kept shooting the button and the thing would open and nothing else happened... :star::star::star::star::star: | 2010-05-29 21:15:00 Author: AbstractSam Posts: 332 |
Also, just wondering, how did you get that badge image? It's awesome! If you backup a level and then copy the backup to a flash drive, it will export a PNG image with it. Just upload that somewhere and you are all set. I know what happened, and I apologize for that. By skipping that section of the swingy platforms, the rollers for that part you were stuck on never activated. Terribly sorry. I will fix that shortly. but also | 2010-05-29 21:17:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
So, remember that time I told you Interstellar Infiltration was one of the best levels I've played? This level surpassed that. Flawless. | 2010-05-30 00:01:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
I get more impressed with the craftsmanship of this level every time I play it. This is a must play for anyone that likes a challenge and isn't prone to throwing their controller. I think speeding up the pendulum platforms did indeed make that section easier...I had no trouble with them today. Lowering the wall after the wheel before the final roller puzzle was much appreciated...no problems with that jump now. I got to see the end of the boss battle! | 2010-05-30 00:31:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |

Cap'n Sackbeard's booty Brain Chain- Industrial bounce Interstellar Infiltration Cloudy with a chance of teamwork And now Roller INC 6 incredible levels made in 5 months. Well, I had been playing Super Mario Galaxy 2 quite a bit, and saw last night you had published this.... so I had to tear myself away. I played it several times - great design, and great implementation. Interestingly, even though this is inspired of CCH's level, I get a totally different feeling playing it. In ONTP I felt I could relax a bit, and I could consistently pull off the challenges - I just had to "look before i leapt". In this one, even after a number of times playing through it there are many places that STILL give me anxiety. Whereas ONTP it only looked hard, this one really IS hard. One place in particular where I had it down pretty well, but the next time I played the timing had changed - where the platform lowers and raises and you have to jump on the wheel spinning left to jump up to a grabby thing there are points right above to the right you can get if you jump while the platform is pushing up).... the first time I played last night the timing was different between the roller above me than the second time, totally changing the way the area had to be solved. I don't know if this is something you changed when publishing between my plays, or whether it was SUPPOSED to be this way, but the 2nd time the platform popped up at the exact time the roller came into view, so I had to get past the section by skipping the grabbing, and instead jump right onto the wheel. I have NO idea whether that makes sense. Also, I found a few ways to cheat on the final boss. I'm going to tell you, but I hope you don't change it. It was comforting to know that it could be done (by that time in the game I had very few nerves left, so it was a breath of fresh air... ). During the first part of the boss, I was able to stand to the right of the right arm and simply fire and kill the left arm without jumping onto the platforms. During the last part, I could simply stand on the right paintinator platform and nothing could kill me. So, I could beat the boss by just standing and shooting buttons. Awesome stuff, 5 stars and a heart! | 2010-05-30 12:46:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |

I have NO idea whether that makes sense. It took me a bit to figure out what you are talking about, but I get you now. The intention WAS to jump straight onto the wheel. The grabby above only helps you get to the secret right above the vertically-moving platform. I changed the timing, but I may yet change it back... I dunno. The intention was to jump on the wheel, and the timing works so that you need to jump just before the platform rises. | 2010-05-30 13:05:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
This level is very hard, so you will get the best experience if playing alone. Curiously, I remember someone named like comph... something joining while I was playing. I bet that crwon of yours stands for "king of hypocresy!" Now for a lil' lvl review: This lvl was a pleasure for the eyes, a blow for the mind and a pain for the fingers. It features smart mechanics combined perfectly with gameplay, whih is something I definetely love. All the stages -and secrets- were definetely fun, and there's now way the difficulty was a downside here for me; it gave me a fantastic sense of achievment that I very much liked. Normally, when I beat a lvl in LBP, i head to another one or do a bit of create. After this one, I took a shower. A cold one. The boss was... err... well designed! Yeah, it looked good, definetely. I liked the jetpack he used to fly, and he simply had that villian-esque look to him that we all do love. I wouldnt be surprised if after this mothers all around start telling to their kiddies to behave or Roller Van Botomm will take em to his factory. Actually, I was lying. I'd be VERY surprised. Oh, and also, I did my best in order to avoid seeing his death sequence again. I think I played it like... many times now and still havent seen him die. Call it empathy if you might, but I just cant help it getting killed too at the same time. Though I think that the boss was way too easy. It lacked more lasers, rollers and gas everywhere. Seriously, I nearly beat him once by simply leaving the controller alone while I went to the kitchen to grab something to eat. :star::star::star::star::star: <3 PS: I, in the name of Luke, thank you for the mention. I'll se if I can get him to post some genuine thanks here, haha! ... that shy *****... | 2010-05-30 13:16:00 Author: Keldur Posts: 628 |

Hey, I just played the level (and the beta) and I've got no problems to report apart from the brilliance of the level! It reminded me of when I first bought littlebigplanet and played the bunker level in the story mode. It was pretty hard, but not that type of frustratingly hard, more like fun kind-of hard. If you know what I mean. Apart from the end, then it got pretty.. let's just say 'annoying'. The gameplay was really clever, I liked how you made each of the rollers go in different ways. The graphics were detailed but for some reason always seemed a little bland. But still nice to look at. Oh, and the last thing I want to talk about is the boss. That was pretty awesome, must've took quite alot of time to build. Anyway, thanks for the awesome level! Unfortunately, when I played it (about an hour ago) the internet went down so I didnt get a chance to heart it, but rest assured I will once I get back on my ps3. | 2010-05-30 14:04:00 Author: AgentBanana Posts: 511 |
I just finish playing your level and let me tell you now this level is incredible I love the gameplay and the visualization of this level not only that but the difficulty of this level too I had to restart it 3 time because I was really hard. You have done it again comphermc keep up the good work your. I gave your level a :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 Now I fell like playing it again lol | 2010-05-30 14:38:00 Author: Arnald23 Posts: 1843 |
Why is everyone one saying this level is hard?? It only took me 45 minutes to finish it? It was worth the time though, quiting was not an option here, just wanted more... Great obstacles, great visuals, great boss, don't think there's anything not to like about this level. Congrats on another masterpiece! 5:star:&<3 ofcourse | 2010-05-30 15:15:00 Author: Serph Posts: 53 |

Hiya- I just played again, and I had a lot of fun. First off, the level badge is simply awesome, it has that Saturday morning cartoons villian feel to it. I loved the visuals in this one, everything seemed realistic. The custom stickers looked really cool. One of my favorite things about this level is how in some area, you would have to stop and figure out the pattern of things before you could go through. I loved the boss, it was perfect. Oh, and one more thing, what could be the aced level gift? I rated :star::star::star::star::star: and <3ed, this level was brilliant like all of your others. | 2010-05-30 22:54:00 Author: X-FROGBOY-X Posts: 1800 |

Okay, well I got stuck. I'll try it again later probably, I wanna see this boss thing. I'm just mad that none of the available tags are expletives. | 2010-05-31 04:11:00 Author: monstahr Posts: 1361 |
Oh... my... god. COMPHER!!! You little, diabolical son-of-a-monkey's uncle!!! Why must you instill fear into me, ME?! THE OUTLAW!?!?! Particularly, through the eyes of a NASTY, EGGMAN-like GEEZER bent on KILLING ME!!! ME!!! THE OUTLAW!!!! Also... why must your platforming sequences be so ASTOUNDING, EH?!?! To think that a little, plasmafied barrel would cause so much harm to MY SANITY!!!O_< The difficulty was OUTRAGEOUS!!! Almost to the point that I was on the verge of ACTUALLY BEING CAREFUL!!!! Only THIS level would EVER make me think of doing such a thing!!! And the grime- OHHHH, the grime- it just simply took my ATTENTION away from, hmmm, I dunno- the BARRELS OF DEATH!!! The detailing and lighting was just SUPERB and HIGHLY IMPROBABLE to even take seriously (I'm STILL BEWILDERED!!!)!! So I gave it :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 just so I can finally ESCAPE from this MADNESS of platforming and plasma!!!! I bid you good day, FINE sir. | 2010-05-31 08:29:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
I wouldnt be surprised if after this mothers all around start telling to their kiddies to behave or Roller Van Botomm will take em to his factory. Haha! Great line! Shame on you, comph, making an enticing ace prize to get more plays (j/k) | 2010-05-31 08:47:00 Author: Incinerator22 Posts: 3251 |
wow, played this last night and was completel y blown away with it. I was constantly just stopping and admiring everything from the visuals to the insane gameplay ideas. This level is just soo addictive. Normally Im the kind of player to get easily frustrated with "these kind of levels", you you have made me realise that those levels are not frustrating because its hard its because their just not very fun.... This one totally is! I took about 5-10 attempts each time to get to the next checkpoint but each time I would get that little bit closer or figure out the timing a little better etc. The layout and obstacles set out in this is just top class as is the visuals. Everything from the distance placement of the platforms to the movements of the obstacle are tiemd and tweaked perfectly. OK I really got to stop stroking your ego here but it has to be said. You had a theme and stuck to it and you had a gamplay style and stuck to it, resulting in such a polished finished level that far exceeds MM standard. If you havn't guessed yet, this is easily one of my favourite levels yet, not just from you but from the whole community.... And I didn't even reach the end of it! I had to go after only 15-20 mins of playtime (yeah I was that slow ) I will most definitely be back to attack this bad boy some more. Oh and on a side note (but I think its important) Your level badge is one of the best I've seen also. Plenty of stuff for me to rob... I mean... get inspiration from here methinks. | 2010-05-31 10:14:00 Author: wexfordian Posts: 1904 |
Played it again and beat it. Wow. Took me forever, but it was worth it. The boss battle was great, doing three things at the same time proved to be very difficulty. D: Best level I played all month. :star::star::star::star::star: and <3 | 2010-05-31 16:44:00 Author: AbstractSam Posts: 332 |
I stopped and wondered halfway through the level. Who could have made this? Then I remembered that the almighty god called "comphermc" has used his awesome skills to make it.... extra hard! I really can't say anything bad about the level because bad language is censored. So let me just put into short and child-friendly words.... brilliant! | 2010-05-31 19:54:00 Author: talbot-trembler Posts: 1114 |
ok now that i played this level i can tell that you are one of best LBP creators of all time. In this level you mixed some materials that i never expected to look that good in a level but they looked awesome, overall the visuals and the level concept was pretty cool. The game-play was pretty original and fun to play, also i considered this level very challenging. i rated it 5*, tagged hard(everyone know why) and of course i hearted it. Good job, keep up! | 2010-06-01 00:11:00 Author: ferrrch Posts: 429 |
You know, most of the time, I'm not a big fan of levels that require the amount of patience, timing, and precision that this one does. The physics of LBP don't really jive with such levels and because of that, I don't either. However, this time, something was different. The level is tough, but players are given plenty of warning about upcoming obstacles as well as a number of visual cues to aid them in avoiding hazards. The visuals use a common industrial theme found throughout LBP, but the many moving obstacles and background details make it feel unique and fresh. I absolutely love it! | 2010-06-01 03:04:00 Author: mrsupercomputer Posts: 1335 |
Ok, so I haven't been able to use my laptop for a while, being out of state and all. However, I did try out your level, comphermc. All I have to say is THANK YOU for putting infinite life checkpoints! Lol, I must have died over a hundred times. The level was extremely challenging, but it was well innovated, and I love playing levels like this. I get a good feeling of accomplishment when I don't quit on these levels. Since I really appreciate how challenging it was, I gave it :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3. | 2010-06-01 03:23:00 Author: Mastadom Posts: 195 |
That was a really challenging but fun level. The level had me keep on trying until I beat it. I enjoy those annoying electric rollers and the visuals are amazing. I don't know if I noticed it but there's some odd object near the half circled grabbable obstacle and it made a strange sound [that was random]. And as for the boss battle, it is ingenious. Another great work from comphermc. | 2010-06-01 04:13:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
Comph, you have created the devil's son. There was quite a bit of cussing coming from my mouth whilst I was playing this level - it was so hard! But I see what you meant about rewarding; you feel all warm inside when you've gotten past a bunch of barrels flying through the air. The visuals where brilliant; you didn't over do them. The whole level flowed nicely with the barrels running like clock work. The gameplay was second to none, like you took platforming and upgraded it to the max. The enemies where pretty detailed, one type blowing up with nice effects. Although not everyone's cup of tea (it makes The Wilderness look like The Gardens), it was definitely mine. I beat rtm by one place on the leader board! 5 stars and a heart! | 2010-06-01 21:35:00 Author: trip090 Posts: 1562 |
I nabbed 6th. That last roller section makes me nervous just thinking about it, its horrendous, in a good way. Part of the appeal of this level is that nearly every part of it induces a gritting of the teeth, lol. The first time through i cursed plenty, now i just admire the evilness of it! | 2010-06-02 00:48:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
...but i ain't drinking the cool aide! You are to Great of a creator to publish anything less than what you want, I have witnessed you work miracles, so I am forced to assume this is intentional. This is easily a 5 STAR LEVEL but I hope it is a direction in your artistic endeavours you do not continue down. While Roller Inc. is not 'Cowboy-Hat' hard it did drive all the enjoyment out of the level for me... (It should be noted I finished with a paultry score out of the great respect I have for you and your genius). Much like Supercomputer, I'm not really sure LBP is the perfect platform for such precision platforming... (I personally) could have used a little more leehway. Take the conveyor section for example, would it really have been so bad to make that electrified wheel a little smaller as to not kill anyone but the perfect jumpee? I know I have been accused of making hard levels... but thats out of sheer ignorance... this contraption is something completely different and awe-inspiring. Release Valve: I guess it's just me, but I cant tell you how many times I had to die here before I could actually see what it was that was happening... what it was I was triggering, I just didn't find it as instinctual as all of your other levels... Oh, and your safespots weren't always safespots! About 3/4 the way through, I was experiencing 'Saving Private Ryan' shellshock... just watching in silence as dizzying tracks of barrels hopped and dove and then all of a sudden awoke out of my stupor because I died.... just watching. It is an amazing feat of creation Comph, you are to be congratulated, just please... next time, more wiggle room. Oh, and if your gonna go through all the effort of making custom in-game posters taped to the walls... please inset them on a different (smooth) material. They were brilliant but stickers always look so horrible on that bumpy steel material... You only have to make 1 master, and can copy all the rest! And Rollerbottom was either epic... or just too long. | 2010-06-02 05:50:00 Author: Gravel Posts: 1308 |
Incredible level. Phenomenal challenge and truly a platforming gem on LBP. I was stunned to find that my friend and I are in 1st place for the 2 player leaderboard! I died so many times, but once taking time to understand the mechanics of each obstacle, I was truly amazed at the care and attention of detail that you put into this level. Outstanding work! | 2010-06-02 07:33:00 Author: obsoleteXeo Posts: 134 |
Like I said to you when you previewed this for me and Yarudark (? it was Yaru, yeah?) in OC.... eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil. Pure evil. And hellaciously fun. I'll give it a go by myself before work tomorrow. If this doesn't win level of the year, I will personally lead the rebellion against MM headquarters. Frankly, I don't understand why they haven't hired you yet. (evil) | 2010-06-02 09:49:00 Author: roux- Posts: 379 |

Alright, it takes me forever to get back to comment on levels... Haha! Well this one, where do I start? Hmmm... how about the number of times I died: around 350 or so. It was so hard! I think you were trying to make me yell at the TV and roll my eyes. It was the most frustrating level I've ever played, although it was one of the best too. It was full of challenge and cool gameplay. It was one heck of a ride. I almost couldn't hold on. Haha! Like I said, the visuals were a little un-unique, but they were as polished and detailed as ever. Great job Comph! Keep masterpieces like this rolling off your assembly line! :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 | 2010-06-05 18:33:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
So I'm late to the party like always You know I love this one. I wouldn't classify it as an extreme platformer though. Is it hard - heck ya. Is it fair - incredibly so. Is it fun - oh yea baby - hurts so good! Now the difference between that and an extreme one is, imho, only a hand full of players can pass an extreme level and the design of those is specifically made to test those top players. This one is dang hard but with observation and practice I think the majority of players can pass this one. Ace it? Heck no! But that doesn't make it extreme. So bottom line for me - it's a brilliantly carried out and thoughtfully designed level that looks awesome and I thouroughly enjoy playing 5 stars and hearted! | 2010-06-06 23:49:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Great level! Hard as crap. I cussed a bunch. Then I was reported for Sackboy abuse, so I'll have to appear in court soon. Thanks a lot. I finished it with enough points to buy a half cup of cold coffee. Well I'm off to see a voodoo priestess to find out how much she charges to perform a curse. Gave it 5 and a heart. | 2010-06-15 05:09:00 Author: thanatos989 Posts: 248 |
Like Wexfordian I am not a big fan of these super-hard-boiled challenges where only a few people see the scoreboard. But this level is really addictive and beside the fact that it has such a great style (visual/lighting) it's allways FAIR... well, at least I feel it this way :-) and I'm a bad joypad-user... this level would be the pure pain when you would have used limited checkpoints - a great THANKS for not using them ^^. With the usage of unlimited checkpoint this level also becomes some sort of training-center for all players who wants to become a better player. It took me a long time to get to the end, but I'm glad I did it. Thank you for such a great level. You will rarely find a level that has these two attributes combinded: very very hard and fun to play. Amazing work ! :star::star::star::star::star: and <3 for level and creator ! Oh boy, I woke up, and first thing I did before I even ate some breakfast... I booted up lbp and tried out Roller inc, I have not had the time, nor permitted myself the time to play some lbpc levels. I completed it, but boy.. I have cursed, screamed, flamed, pulled my hairs out, threw the controller one time and the person next to me ordered me a few times to just admit defeat and give up. BUT NONE OF THAT!! I kept trying, I like a challenge.. and after loosing all my points at the first paintinator part (I really cant work with the paintinator) I sometimes even hated myself for not wanting to give up. Each room had a learning curve, in some occasions I was lucky and just jumped trough the obstacles without much thinking, but trying that on later parts of the level would result in a mayor spanking by either gas, rollers or a combination of such. After completing the first two rooms I had the feeling this could be a long level, I could tell by the usage of your materials, you used only a few and with that made a very solid looking roller factory, And it seems i was right. this level is looong. (Taken in acc. I died about 100 times or so ) And maybe a little too long as the last few rooms I kinda hoped to find the scoreboard.. but that might have to do with how hard some of the rooms are.. and each room was harder than the previous one. After taking some time and patience I managed to go trough each room and found that if you take your time, time your jumps well it isnt as hard as it all looks. That said, the three platforms on wobbles where you have to use each platform twice where quite annoying, If you have a Wii and with that hopefully the new Mario Galaxy they used this cool and simple sound trick. You would hear a beat trough both your controller and speakers (bpm) and on the first beat of the loop either platforms changed or dissapeared and that would be a small but handy addition to these platforms. With that its a bit easier to time your jumps. It would feel a bit more fair. The last two rooms where near insane, moving objects.. gas.. electricity.. and no time to breathe.. (Last time I hold my breath this long was when I first kissed a girl and almost passed out ) (no that was not two days ago!) The boss looked fine, but for some reason felt much much easier than the average difficulty of the level. The left arm can be hit with the paintinator from a save spot on the right side of the room, Finding that cheating myself I took the challenge and stood in the middle, jumping around, having lots of luck with the plasma shots and often matrix-ed myself trough em. There have been two occasions though that both platforms where "Occupied" by either the red laser-gas/Plasma/Rollers and resulted in no way of surviving it. (I dont know if my paint hit the rollers with the paintinator and changed their location.. but I really felt those two moments where unfair) After shooting some buttons in the sky and some bombs hit Von Rollerbottoms face I completed the level, gave it 5 stars and hearted it. I hate you for this level, in a good way. Man oh man.. that was so frustrating.. and yet.. so much fun. It almost felt like a date | 2010-06-16 13:27:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
Well, I must say that this is without a doubt one of the best levels in LBP. I absolutely loved it, I have no idea how you managed to think up all the challenges and still keep them possible! The first time I played this, I didn't do to well. This levels eases you in a bit, but it's clear from the first challenge that this will be no cakewalk. Perfect timing and precision are required to get anywhere, and you constantly surprise me with pushing Sackboy to his limits; More than once I simply stopped at an obstacle and said "No way is that possible". But you manage to make jumps that are just about possible, and make the level feel extra-heroic. The rollers were executed perfectly! I loved the Rube-Goldberg/factory conveyor belt thing you had going on, it must have taken ages to get everything landing in the right place! The one that blew me away was the one at the end which involves you switching from the floor to the ceiling to dodge the rollers, it has to be so lightning fast I felt incredibly awesome upon making it! The boss was genius. So old school but so revolutionary, it kept the player on their toes perfectly! It was very kind of you to offer it as the Ace Level prize, but to be honest anyone who can ace this level deserves a crown. The amazing thing is, it gets easier. I played this level on my own and it took absolutely ages, but when I went through again to show my brother I actually managed a fair few challenges first time, even managed 11th place! Though this is an Extremely frustrating level, once you've beaten a challenge once you lose the mindset of "Is this really possible?" and realise that if you can do it once you can do it again! I went for the secrets second time, very well hidden! Some require insane jumping and use of momentum, I can't say I'm bothered to put myself through that. xD I loved everything about this level, thank you so much! The little things were awesome, like the explosive enemy (Reminded me of Rayman 2 for some reason!) and the plasmaglass- How do you do that? http://i.neoseeker.com/mgv/272671-Blackfalcon/671/5/animal0064hb2_display.gif | 2010-06-16 17:22:00 Author: Blackfalcon Posts: 409 |
I played it, and though I couldn't finish it [my LBP skills having vanished after weeks of inactivity lol], I really enjoyed it. It gave a comforting MM vibe throughout with its professional looks and setup. Some of the gameplay obstacles I've never seen before. Nice visuals, some interesting gameplay. I felt some jumps were a little too high, also not a fan of the jump after the checkpoint like others have mentioned. Biggest annoyance was the "x" safe zones, which were only safe until the next barrel comes a rolling. Oh, and some of the camera transitions could be better. Boss did remind me of Robotic/eggman too, not sure if that was intentional or not. My favourite part was the little details like the pipes and those little control panels made from radio decorations. Nice level overall though. | 2010-06-19 08:47:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
I tried this on 2 player, with some lag That was a mistake! Nevertheless it was a fantastic level. It was how real games are. Very frustrating at times but thats what makes them great. Its the same feeling I've had on the second last boss of tekken 2 (with one of my less good players) or at the end of ratchet and clank, and so many other games, more recently the last levels in Joe Danger. Having to die and keep trying adds another element to a level, but you've done it to the extent that it doesn't make you quit because of what seems to be an impossible task. Anywho it got 5 stars from me, another great one! | 2010-06-19 09:14:00 Author: chimpskylark Posts: 335 |
You owe me a cup of coffee that went cold in the 30 mins it took the complete this, as well as a tiny piece of sanity, a bit of hair (not much left) and a few cigerettes. It took me all that to get though this beast. It was excellent though, looked nice, and some of the contraptions were simply fantastic. It was hard but well worth it. It's nice to see someone making something this hard and sticking with it, I always worry and dumb it down, so kudos for that mate. Excellent job, I got a bad score, and missed a lot of bubbles, but now i have the knowledge about how then sections work I'll be back | 2010-06-29 12:32:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |

Baha, I clocked in at well under an hour, 3 player, laggy, I win! Really loved this level, the visuals were spot on for the theme and nothing felt out of place. Barrels looked great flying through the air! All the obstacles were really well paced and just the right amount of difficulty and fun. There was lots of bubbles to be found too which we didn't really bother with on our play though but that adds some great replay value. The boss was epic is all I shall say. :star::star::star::star::star: + <3 | 2010-07-02 00:47:00 Author: OneEyedBanshee Posts: 1370 |

Plasma is an old patched glitch. But good news... you can get it from Aya's level Garden of Goodies (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=29559-Garden-of-Goodies). Oh very nice but so unforginving. Many great things here obviously but your rolling barrel tracks stand out as the most unique, and of course great boss too. At 5:40 in that video, you haven't fixed it yet?! Usually if the robot goes all the way to the left and you jump on it you get killed by some invisible gas... D: Also, I think top score cheated somehow! :/ The max score for collecting all w/out dying would be about 5k, 6k at most, so how in the world did he manage 7k+?! Believe me, I've tried to HS that level a lot of times, and have 2d spot currently, and I can see no way the points can reach a total of 7k w/out some sort of glitch or something. Are there no "ever spawning" points/ brains/ enemies at any given point? Anywho, still pretty addictive and well made level dude! Still compelled to play it every now and then... | 2010-08-29 06:33:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Wow, nicely done, Gilgamesh! As for the gas... whoopsies. Will fix. The top score may be taking advantage of a score cheat, but I can't really do anything about that... he may just be saving combos for a really big one... who knows. It was fun to watch that video, don't think I could handle playing it again. xD I just love the moving platforms that you jump off and land on again, so awesome! http://i.neoseeker.com/mgv/272671-Blackfalcon/671/5/animal0064hb2_display.gif | 2010-08-29 16:34:00 Author: Blackfalcon Posts: 409 |
