Will be Spain. Argentina may come close. England will fail as always. I'll be at the British Grand Prix on the day of the final, and as F1 owns Football, i don't really care. That said, i will be watching the final on a large screen behind the start/finish straight with a massive group of people after the racing is done. Should be a good atmosphere, a big mix of nationalities will be there for the F1, and there will be lots to drink. Thursday to Monday of that week will be awesome. And it would be nice for Hamilton to win, with Button second, and England to win the final all on the same day, however only Hamilton will be able to win. | 2010-05-26 22:50:00 Author: Unknown User |
i hope there is a massive upset and England get a chance Spaina nd Brazil are the strongest going into the World Cup but shock can happen hopefully | 2010-05-27 12:29:00 Author: monkeymagic Posts: 71 |
England should win because they are the best but unfortunately they won't as usual because they just play too fair. It'll probably be one of the teams that are best at cheating and getting away with it i.e. France,Italy or Argentina. | 2010-05-27 13:34:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |

If Torres and Aguero are on form for their respective countries, looked for goals galore from the two of them. | 2010-05-27 16:45:00 Author: Unknown User |

I'm a Liverpool fan so I'd love an England v Spain final! Even though I'm Welsh, I'd have to go with England because the Welsh national team can't qualify for love nor money! | 2010-05-28 18:14:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |

I vote for Irela... Oh wait... I hope France get knocked out first. Quite right, they only got there by cheating Ireland out of it in the first place. I can't believe in the 21st century we still haven't got a governing body that has the balls to disqualify blatant cheats. | 2010-05-28 23:13:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |

I say England. There's no way Spain will win two competitions in a row, and Spain has won only when it was considered the underdog. Argentina is a solid team with a woeful coach, that won't express what good they have. Brazil has another idiot as a coach; Dunga is mad to not bring Pato and Ronaldinho but bringing Julio Baptista. England has a very good mix of talent and physical strength, and one of the better coaches ever. You guys should also consider that there's a lot of mayhem around the ball, Buffon, Casillas and Julio Caesar are saying that it's disgraceful, bad built and not precise, it is too light (only 440 gr) and very slick, and it takes strange spins; it is said that Pirlo does passages wrong of 3 meters, while with a regular ball he misses for just 10 centimeters. This means that who only relies on technique is going to lose, since the ball won't be responsive. Spain and Brazil will have bad times imho. | 2010-06-03 17:16:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
I say England. I would say England too but not after the friendly they had the other day, the only two goals they got were own goals from the other team! BOOOOOOOOO | 2010-06-03 17:18:00 Author: Fenderjt Posts: 1969 |
England will not win, as much as i would like it. Just because Spain aren't underdogs doesn't mean they will suddenly be a bad team... | 2010-06-03 18:00:00 Author: Unknown User |
England will not win, as much as i would like it. Just because Spain aren't underdogs doesn't mean they will suddenly be a bad team... Being over confident could be a problem, soccer is not a game where the best surely wins. Just look at who won the UEFA Champions League. Or think about USA winning the first quarter of the match against an over confident Brazil in Confederation Cup. There are own goals, referee errors, slips of the goal keepers, luck shots, injuries, some teams will feel the change of seasons from playing down under more than others. World Cup has a history about all this stuff. I'm going to bet on England, and as a supporter of Milan AC, I'm really sorry for what happened to Beckham, one of the very few gentlemen in the business. | 2010-06-03 18:30:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
I'll bet on Spain then... | 2010-06-03 19:38:00 Author: Unknown User |

I'm from spain and I actually hope they lose! Seriously, people, you dont want to see Barcelona's streets after the fanatics have celebrated a victory there. | 2010-06-04 19:59:00 Author: Keldur Posts: 628 |
But with players like Torres, Xavi and Villa I think you may have to deal with those crazed fans. | 2010-06-04 20:02:00 Author: KQuinn94Z Posts: 1758 |
As you people can see, Spain can have hard times. And it seems that we Italians have lost Andrea Pirlo. So sorry for Ferdinand, really, he's a guy who made the history of soccer in the last 10 years. Still, I don't see why there was a mess around Terry. He, hmmm, "slept while being MORE than awake" with that guy's wife, and, ok, let's face it, it's not cool, but your Prince Charles "slept while being maybe awake" with Camilla while he was married with Diana. For my point of view it's nearly the same thing, except that Terry has working eyes. *Phew, it was difficult to say it in English without using words that would subject me to the perpetual 10 ton banhammer* | 2010-06-04 20:45:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
I actually dont know who those are. Lol! And nah, they wont win. It's like a tradition here, they daren't break it! | 2010-06-04 20:55:00 Author: Keldur Posts: 628 |

I'm betting Argentina for the win. Isn't everyone? All thanks to Mr Messi! EDIT: Oh yeah, South Africa's goal was awesome! | 2010-06-12 07:56:00 Author: talbot-trembler Posts: 1114 |
Spain has a good solid team. And so does Argentina, more than anything because of (as mentioned by by talbot) Messi. That dude is godly. But I'm rooting for Spain. One guy does not make the team. | 2010-06-12 08:44:00 Author: Astrosimi Posts: 2046 |

England tied with USA? That's pathetic. USA is horrible at football. | 2010-06-13 02:27:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino Posts: 5250 |
OMG. Green is the worst goalkeeper I have ever seen. Where did we drag him up from. He looked totally uncomfortable right from the kick off and just a few minutes into the game I said he was going to make a mess of things and I was proved right unfortunately. His face throughout the game was like he was in a dream or something, no focus whatsoever. Rooney was a major disappointment too. 90% of the time he had the ball he simply gave it away. If they carry on like that we'll finish bottom of the group. Best team for me so far are South Korea. | 2010-06-13 02:56:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |

I actually kind of felt bad for Green. That goal was kind of sad for both sides. ...Unless he is always that bad. Is he? | 2010-06-13 03:34:00 Author: Astrosimi Posts: 2046 |
Hahahahahahahaha I don't usually watch sports, much less soccer, but it's the world cup and it was on at a party today Green's ****-up was absolutely hilarious. He's going to get murdered. I also loved the slow-mo of the American player celebrating over his terrible goal. Laughed really hard. Suck it, England! Yes, I'm aware it was a tie. But suck it. | 2010-06-13 04:20:00 Author: monstahr Posts: 1361 |
Of course I'm always hopin' for USA, but I figure they won't get far. :/ England... I really don't see them going on if they tied with USA. Plus, they lost their captain so that's gonna cripple them for a bit. Mexico & South Africa... "underdogs", anyone? Brazil... they're always up there. They always find a way to climb into top seed. But, all the way?... perhaps. If they can keep it up, that is. Spain... I feel like they're the most vulnerable. Not only are they going in with a high reputation, but any game that ends with a margin of +1 or less, and it's all gonna spiral downwards. I mean, in all honesty, they're really impressive and all, but one little slip and they're gonna be vulnerable to a major upset. So, obviously, I wouldn't place my money on them. I'm still a bit skeptical, so I'll place my later once I see some more action... | 2010-06-13 04:30:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
To be fair, England only lost cos of a slip up which hopefully won't happen again. Got to feel for Green though, at this point in time, pretty much the whole country dislikes him, that has got to suck. | 2010-06-13 08:02:00 Author: Boomy Posts: 3701 |

Green has to be the worst goal keeper I've ever seen, playing for an international side. Terrible, terrible, terrible! And being an irishman, I'm quite happy about that! | 2010-06-13 16:30:00 Author: talbot-trembler Posts: 1114 |

Oh God, it's not football season again is it? As if England needs more beer, fighting and peeing in shop doorways already! Anyway, when will England realise that it will never win the world cup again. Our kids are brainwashed in school to believe that it's the taking part and not the winning that's important, so we have become a nation of losers who think that it's ok because at least we "went out there and gave it a good go". Many competitive games have either been phased out or "pussified" in British schools because government advisors believed that the experience of losing causes kids to be left with psychological insecurities and to be sidelined by their peers. Pfft! IMO, winning is the only thing that matters in competitive sport, and the losing team should merit no respect or consolation. That's what I teach my kids! | 2010-06-13 16:58:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |

100% agree with Ungreth and yes those horns are really frackin' annoying. You'd think with the advances in digital TV nowadays there'd be an option to filter that noise out and just listen to the commentary. Come on SKY let it be so. Oh and just look at Green's face. He looked like that from the first minute to the 90th. Does that look like like a guy who is focused and happy to be representing his country ? It looks more like someone who has been drugged to me ! | 2010-06-14 13:14:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |

I thought England had a bad defense but Denmark were even worse. One own goal and then a terrible mistake to allow the 2nd goal. The defender ( Kjaer was it ? ) fell asleep on that 2nd one. He was 6 feet closer to the the ball than the dutch player and just stood there and let him run right past him. What an idiot. | 2010-06-14 15:30:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |

USA! USA! Just kidding. No one really cares about the US winning. US is the underdog in FIFA. Although, it's funny how some people get crazy with US's lucky shot. One man's blunder is another country's celebration. | 2010-06-15 23:21:00 Author: CyberSora Posts: 5551 |

We better get knocked out by Algeria so everyone can stop caring about this stupid ****. Why post in this thread if you don't even like Football? *Back on topic* England were really poor tonight... Kudos to the England fans trying to compete with the vuvuzelas though! | 2010-06-18 21:29:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |
Hah! You wish, Alex. Algeria sucks more than we do (methinks)! Besides, if it wasn't for one of the most retarded referee calls in history, we would've beaten Slovenia and tie for first in the group. If I were to place my money down on any team right now, it'd probably be Mexico. They sure surprised me when they cleaned the floor with France (even though they tied with South Africa), and the other popular favorites (like Spain and Italy) aren't as strong as I first thought. It seems to me that the underdogs this time around are gonna make it to the finals (I mean, come on! Freakin' Slovenia came out of nowhere and surprised everyone). Then again, positions are always subject to change. But, for now, my money's on Mexico. (Hah... vuvuzelas ) | 2010-06-19 01:21:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |

Why post in this thread if you don't even like Football? *Back on topic* England were really poor tonight... Kudos to the England fans trying to compete with the vuvuzelas though! I've been watching football for years, and i've had a season ticket at Burnley for 12 years. Trust me, Burnley have more of a chance of qualifying than England do, and half the players are Scottish... England don't deserve to be in the World Cup after those two performances, it's pathetic. | 2010-06-19 13:19:00 Author: Unknown User |
I'm going to be patriotic and say England. Now I'm going to be truthful and say, not England. Those last two games were pretty bad. To be honest though, I had football, so I don't care. Hooray ! France are out and on their way home. That's the best thing that's happened in the World Cup in years. Having cheated to get there they had no right to even be there in the first place so at least some justice was done. It's just a pity FIFA didn't have the balls to do the right thing and disqualify them in the first place and put Ireland through instead. Well at least that's one bunch of cheats gone. Now we just need to see the other blatant cheats sent home such as Ronaldo ( the biggest cheat in the world today ), Argentina and Italy. | 2010-06-22 18:39:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |

just to say why is there less hype about the rugby world cup than the football? I mean England to got though to the finals twice in a row (Won once) in the rugby . back to the football i got to say I've been disappointed with England's performance... but to day they really play with spirit. 1 : 0 come on england. USA top of the group now that's embarrassing | 2010-06-23 21:10:00 Author: Pattington_Bear Posts: 777 |
Because it's far more of an achievement to win the world cup, out of 206? or so countries. The rugby is between about 20 maybe? | 2010-06-23 21:51:00 Author: KQuinn94Z Posts: 1758 |
cmon England!!!! Steven Gerrard in my eyes is the best player in the world, he has everything, if it wernt for Stevie rooney wouldn't be England's talisman, those two link up so well!!!! like yesterday with Slovenia Gerrard was denied by a world class save. I think England will go all the way now we have more dedication than the other teams, like John Terry trying to stop the ball going in by diving face first at it now that is dedication!!!!!! Germany next but we will win..... we always seem to do so against them. | 2010-06-24 09:02:00 Author: geddez12 Posts: 338 |

Hooray ! France are out and on their way home.. Even Sony makes fun of us....! it's an ad released in many newspapers in France just the day after the defeat... I think it's a weird idea for a communication ad, and I don't really see the link between the Playstation and the World cup... but everybody is talking about that here... Anyway, as I really don't care for football and the french team, that made me laugh http://download.gameblog.fr/images/jeux/0/AllezLesBleus-Liberation.jpg Sorry for the off-topic | 2010-06-24 12:48:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |
I totalized an amount of 15 minutes of watched live matches, and I find the overall quality of this Cup absolutely embarassing. And yeah, France stole the qualification, but a soccer competition without France in the latest phases of the Cup, means that there's no fun. | 2010-06-24 13:04:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
Because it's far more of an achievement to win the world cup, out of 206? or so countries. The rugby is between about 20 maybe? What on earth are you talking about? Have you just taken every country that potentially could have qualified for the group stages of the football world cup and compared that with the countries that did qualify for group stages of the Rugby World Cup? Talk about biassing your stats In fairness, the primary reason why Football is more popular is that it's an easier sport to watch for entertainment purposes, and in England at least, more people play football (i.e. grow up with it) than rugby. Worldwide it's also a more played sport and has the advantage that you can easily have a quick kick around without to much bother. Regardless, I'd be willing to put a hefty bet on England not winning. Why? Because we are England. We don't really do the whole "winning" thing when it comes to sports | 2010-06-24 13:21:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |

He's not as good during normal seasons, and he hasn't been able to perform in the World Cups that he has played in. Messi has. Because it's far more of an achievement to win the world cup, out of 206? or so countries. The rugby is between about 20 maybe? F1 only has 12 teams, i'd say winning that is more of an achievement than winning the world cup. | 2010-06-24 16:59:00 Author: Unknown User |

How bad are us england supporters. Not only do we pay people like rooney over 4 million pounds a year to play like arseholes but we then have the gall to criticise them. Ooh sorry rooney and co, my bad ! They couldn't even beat the worst ever german team in history but they then try to justify it by claiming they were cheated out of a goal which could have changed the whole outcome of the game. Come on, it's not like england ever get cheated out of world cup progression by cheating players or blind referees is it now ! Just look at this photo. It clearly shows we were wrong when we thought the ball had crossed the line : http://i.imgur.com/QxJvh.jpg | 2010-06-28 00:58:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |
Well, England played really badly today, and Germany were great so they deserved to win that match - Come to think of it, England haven't been playing too well since the beginning of the world cup. Ah well, it's times like this when it comes to handy having dual nationality - England and Germany - either way, I won! | 2010-06-28 01:15:00 Author: standby250 Posts: 1113 |
My 2 cents about soccer... The toy is breaking. I see a lot of so called champions that are arseholes and get a lot of money. I loved soccer and I must say that even a "Cristiano Ronaldo", with his tricks and lights is no one in comparison of soccer players that ended their carieer 10 years ago. People like Cantona, Weah, Savicevic, Zidane (not 10 years ago...), Maldini, Gullit, Berkhamp, and many others...those were soccer players. Europe is vanishing, since kids play too much videogames and don't run out of their homes to play some soccer with friends. The only kids that play soccer are the ones that are forced by their parents, that believe that the kid will become a champ and earn a lot of easy money. And they're not driven by passion, but by money, and you can clkearly see that today players are p**sies and they always fear to receive a kick, they fall like dolls and they never play fair when they try to deceive the referees. The people from the less rich zones are the only ones that still want a spotlight, since they want a piece of the pie, the play with agonism, with the knives between their teeth, but still the times of the fat beefs is ending, for everyone, since fans are getting sick of THIS soccer, and are getting interested in other sports, where the agonistic spirit is still alive. If THEY (the higher ups) wants to save soccer, they must 1 - avoid the referee's errors with thechnology 2 - stop the administrative doping, and force soccer clubs to manage the team without taking loans, but only with the earnings. | 2010-06-28 06:55:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

Germany are ok, but Argentina and England were really poor against them. Don't think Germany are amazing, they play well, but if Spain perform, which to be fair they aren't doing right now, i expect them to beat Germany. I'm supporting Holland all the way, i've always liked them since Bergkamp and Overmars played | 2010-07-03 23:43:00 Author: Unknown User |
Spain are the only team left with any flair... Holland are good, not exceptional, Germany are VERY well organized but have no real star players, pretty much like the opposite of England, and as for the "people who didn't read the script" as one commentator elegantly put it, have done nought but destroy the hopes of Africa and cheated their way to the semis. They will be destroyed (not literally). | 2010-07-03 23:55:00 Author: Keanster96 Posts: 1436 |

And yes, they technically cheated their way to the semi's, but as Shearer said after that match, he doesn't know anyone who wouldn't have done that at that point of the game... | 2010-07-04 09:40:00 Author: Unknown User |

Germany have no star players? Bastien Schweinsteiger is far better than Gerrard and Lampard, Ozil, Muller and Klose are all better than their English counterparts. Agree to disagree? Germanys team is just fantastically organized. Though their players definitely aren't bad, you wouldn't expect any one of them to beat a (functioning) defense on their own. On the other hand, people usually expect the game to be all about the star attackers (Rooney, Messi, Ronaldo...) but it isn't. The German team is functioning as a unit, and I wouldn't be surprised if they went on to win, but then again if you'd asked me a few days ago, I would've said Argentina.... | 2010-07-04 18:36:00 Author: Keanster96 Posts: 1436 |

Well there you have it. Spain win. People from Holland will complain they were cheated out, I disagree. Spain deserved to win. They were the better team. Holland went into it with a foul style of play. Hacking at Spain's legs left, right and centre. I'm surprised they didn't have 8 or 9 on the pitch. What was Van Bommel at throughout? As he's done the whole tournament, he's spent more time fouling than playing. Spain were deservedly the winners in what was a tight, entertaining, but very stop, start game. Howard crap! I for one thought he did a fairly good job under the circumstances of such a physical game. One mistake, to which I feel was quite irrelevant to whether the goal went in or not. How was Howard supposed to tell that the corner not being allowed to cause a goal at the other end? Anyway, how could such a foul playing team deserve to win. When they weren't fouling, they were diving, looking for frees. Spain were the better team. Possibly they should have had a penalty. | 2010-07-11 22:49:00 Author: KQuinn94Z Posts: 1758 |
That was a fairly boring game... Interesting, but boring. Spain deserved to win, Holland were just playing to disable Spain. Wrong move. /final thoughts | 2010-07-11 22:50:00 Author: Keanster96 Posts: 1436 |

YAY, congratulations SPAIN. A well deserved win especially as they should have been playing against 8 men after the first half. It would have been an absolute travesty if the disgusting dutch had won after such a disgraceful display. That's the worst case of foul play I've ever seen with several dutch players deliberately trying to injure the opposition. Van Bommel at least should be banned from the game completely along with De Jong. That's a terrible example to young up and coming footballers. At least justice was done with the final result and the best team won. Again well done SPAIN. | 2010-07-12 00:12:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |

110% anti spain and howard webb im pist off Are you kidding ! or blind ? You should love the referee because if he'd done his job properly both van bommel and de jong would have been sent off in the first half !! | 2010-07-12 01:23:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |
The match was actually dull. I think everybody got worked up over nothing. The only thing I loved watching was the acting. As soon as Spain got a goal, all of the other team's player started to exaggerate even the simplest of bumps. | 2010-07-12 01:31:00 Author: CyberSora Posts: 5551 |

Congrats to Spain, but this World Cup has been the lamest and most boring in history. | 2010-07-12 06:10:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
this past World Cup: vuvuzelas, unmarked offsides, disallowed goals, unfair bookings... HOWARD WEBB. the Cup taken away from the ones who deserved it - Oranje. Webb obviously thinks the Spanish team consists entirely of Wayne Rooney so he can blow his little whistle in their advantage. | 2010-07-12 07:44:00 Author: McRedFox Posts: 56 |
Horrible referee, he started giving yellow too often causing the players to give the opponent yellow cards. Puyol should have had a red card in that attack with Robben where he was outran and De Jong should have had one as well for that kick on the chest. I can't believe he also missed out on that corner that should have been given to us in the 115th minute, but in the end the best team won so congratz Spain! | 2010-07-12 07:46:00 Author: Kn0cked-0ut Posts: 562 |
Really, I'm a bit upset that Spain won, because between Spain and Italy doesn't run good blood lately (not referring to people here obviously), but globally as an Italian I feel that Spanish are mocking us a bit too much, while Dutch people have always been very kind with us Italians (with everyone I suppose), and really, when I went in Nederlands I felt like home since Dutch has been very friendly and nice. So yeah, I feel a little dead inside... | 2010-07-12 08:00:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
Well i should really say England but im going with my dads guess. He put a ?25 bet on for Spain to win. So Spain it is lol Oh and if we guess right are you going to give us a prize seen as you started this thread? Can i have ?100 please, thanks bye Well well well Spain it is, i knew it all along! Javi you owe me ?100. Looking forward to receiving it. | 2010-07-12 08:42:00 Author: Fenderjt Posts: 1969 |

Look, Howard Webb always has to think about letting the game go as well as possible. Th yellows were all deservedly given and Webb didn't want to hand out reds because they clearly ruin matches. Holland played foully and did not deserve to win. Webb did the best he could. I thought he did alright. Let the game go as much asd possible without handing out reds to ruin it. this past World Cup: vuvuzelas, unmarked offsides, disallowed goals, unfair bookings... HOWARD WEBB. the Cup taken away from the ones who deserved it - Oranje. Webb obviously thinks the Spanish team consists entirely of Wayne Rooney so he can blow his little whistle in their advantage. That's just being sore losers right there. You deserved it? I don't think so. Webb didn't even take sides at all. Holland just played dirtier. | 2010-07-12 11:01:00 Author: KQuinn94Z Posts: 1758 |
The level of Dutch delusion in this thread is brilliant To blame the referee you must be absolutely crazy. If he had refereed to the letter of the law you would have been down to 9 men before half time. He tried to let the game flow as much as possible and not ruin the spectacle by sending someone off so early. It just so happened that the Dutch were hell bent on karate kicking and hacking at legs at every opportunity, so eventually he had no choice. I'd thank Howard Webb for saving you the embarrassment of getting annihilated in a World Cup final if I was you | 2010-07-12 11:26:00 Author: jackofcourse Posts: 1494 |
