A short first level of various traveling methods.
Just finished my first short level, Bootcamp. It's pretty much V 1.0, that deals with 4 common travelling methods (repelling, climbing, jumping small targets and extended swinging). It's more of a training for me but thought it may be useful for others too who are just starting out and may need to know some of the methods.

As for the F4F I'll do 1:1 of as many can give support or ideas of improvement

As for the F4F, do you NEED to give me back feedback? I have no levels completed D:2010-05-26 02:22:00

My notes on the level
-minimal corner editing
-good humor
-the first thing had bad explanation
-good use of winches, i was at loss with them when i first started creating
-many materials
-has bg and music
-has checkpoints unlike many other levels
-love the wheel

My overall rating: 3.2/5
Not bad for a first, but really was simple, and you can tell you didn't work very hard on it, however it may be useful for the newbies.

Good job! (normally I give 1s and 2s to first timers )

I would like feedback, like if anything was wrong that you've noticed even if you don't have a level. Just thinking that posting as a f4f would encourage it. A response to your own level isn't required, such as your situation where you don't even have one.

*Edit* Thanks for the info, glad I could get past the minimal scoring hah. I played a bunch of custom levels already so I knew some of the do's and don'ts already (such as the checkpoints). I was going to make the wheel part of another course in it, but didn't really fit in the theme but had fun swinging around it so I left it in case someone else wanted a try.

For clarification is the minimal corner editing note a good thing or bad thing?

I'll fix the explanations, I tried to make it for people who already had an understanding of the controls but as it went on it went more for newer people, just never thought of rewording it.

The "tell you didn't work very hard on it" comment, I'll take that as a compliment. It actually took me a few days (prob just a few hours total) of trying to get everything to work right the way it was supposed to and of experimenting. The lift was supposed to be powered by a piston from the bottom origionally, but had so much trouble getting it to work consistently I finally just scrapped it today for the simpler chains.

And, baby steps just trying to get things to actually work first

Re-uploaded with changes to some of the dialogue instructions, and noticed the wheel was a little off-center so I fixed that. It seems to want to float half an inch above the ground for some reason though, can't seem to fix that but the gap is pretty minimal so meh.2010-05-26 03:09:00
