Up & Away In Sky Town 2

Any one who played Up & Away In Sky Town should have a idea what this is about. The idea is the player holding on to a balloon to sail across the sky, they are parts where you have to let go.

hope you find it a light hearted level and dont feel the need to rush.
Sky Town levels are special to me and couln't help myself, and i hope you enjoy it

I was checking your levels today, not because of this and noticed this. Had no idea it was a new level and I thought I played it. DARN IT D:

Hiya-

This was a lot of fun. I liked the slow paced, relaxing gameplay, and it was interesting to see that you added an area where you don't use the balloon for a little while. The 3D background scenery was great, I think it was your best yet, especially the airships. It was interesting to see what had happened to the cow from your earlier SkyTown levels. I dont blame yoou for making another one of these, they're always a lot of fun to play. It's always cool to see a creator as artistic as you.

I rated it :star::star::star::star::star: and gave the level a well deserved <3.

WOW, first of all i love your style, I would have hearted you for this level but..

I really dont know what to say other then wow, uhm.. The visuals were very impressive and i can see alot of refrence to other games and some movies (castle in the sky). This is trully amazing art, of course i hearted the level.. Everything went perfectly together.. I did have some minor problems but that was just my fault..

soo 5 stars and a heart and please keep up your work!!!!!!

Good to hear you guys and girls like it its a hard thing to get right. I try to make it as multiplayer friendly as I could I think it add alot that some time you have to fight to keep yourself alive but being first maybe not be the best way 2010-05-26 12:50:00

Well I would post my first thought when the level loaded, but it would be censored! That opening view is awesome and I think you've really outdone yourself with the scenery throughout this level. Also loving the little extensions on the first one like making the fans rotate in the vertical axis - I actually thought of up & away when I got the incredibles pack - and the valleys with leaves blowing around in them etc.

Minor considerations:

Multiplayer is still tricky. The fans really don't cope well with more than one player at a time, but I'm sure you are aware of this and it's really not a big deal.

Similarly, there are a few places that can get clogged up with old balloons, although now I think about it you could always clear it out by releasing more at the checkpoint, wish I'd thought of that yesterday. I'm also considering looking into a mechanic that would allow for a ballon to be demitted shortly after a sackperson lets go, whilst also maintaining multiplayer safety etc. I'll let you know if I get anywhere with that, as it might be useful for up & away 3

Finally, and this is my only real criticism, the section where you have the s bend with spikes near the beginning is probably the hardest section in the level. It feels like this should have been moved later on in the level to allow the player time to get used to the balloon control and to improve the learning curve. I'm not saying it's too difficult, I just feel it would have been better placed later on.

Thanks rtm223 I think i saw somewhere fans in LBP2 I think hope they move, with the balloons be objects and will bump make player with others harder no real way around it.

I would love to pop the balloons when the player let go and maybe kill them say when they hit a spike tryed alot of things let me know if you come up with somthing

and yeah Ive been thinking about take that 2rd lot of spikes out I think alot that give up easy will do it there lol

PSN finally let me log in. the first thing i did was play this.

it was totally worth it! this level is one of the best out there! the scenery was phenomenal, the buildings having a spectacular effect on the whole level. the background is crafted so well, i had to pick it apart! it looked so good!

the gameplay itself was brilliant; relaxing and peaceful but challenging at the same time. the new fans look brilliant as spinning the other way, giving the level new dimensions. they worked just as well as before, of course. the obstacles where really enjoyable, gusts of wind are a great feature! the no-balloon zone was brilliant. it was nice to have a break from the balloon puzzles and just go back to basic platforming. the zone was so creative, the scenery looking brilliant.

i'd like to say i hearted this but i replayed and PSN kicked me off and wouldn't let me back on. i rated it 5 stars, of course.

can't wait to see what you do next!

Hey there I played this a couple of mins ago. Simply beautiful as per usual! The airship in the background near the start looked a little static to me, the propeller is rotating so I just kind of expect the whole thing to be animated, it looks a little bit odd to me with just that 1 moving part. Maybe pop a piston on it and make it bob up and down, even further could be swaying left and right also. The 3d work is really excellent otherwise I think. The cow and the piano seemed a bit random lol unless I missed something XD funny though! The pace was great, I had trouble with 1 ledge, hard to recall it, I think there is a platform floating up and down to the left of it that you have to drop onto. The first ledge after that I had to jump up on seemed a little too high or something, it took me a good few jumps like 20 or so before I just barely made it up. Otherwise I really liked it and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Nice level. Amazing visuals. However, I think your other Sky Town levels were much better. All it seemed you were doing in this level was jumping, jumping, jumping.

Ok so this wasnt just another level here in the LBP community, this was THE LEVEL. This was an astonishing work not only in game-play(as always) but also on some of the most original and beautiful visuals. I rated this 5*, gave a heart and tagged artistic. Keep up!2010-05-27 00:19:00

I LOVE Skytown. I don't know what it is about it, but somehow it makes me feel like a kid again. I was sorry to see that the original "Sackboy in Skytown" was taken down, but I guess you've gotta' free up space to keep creating. When I saw the sign with the picture of the cow on it, I cracked up, remembering the cow from the first level. A little while later, there she was (or another cow... they all look alike I suppose), and sure enough .... ...she got launched into the air.

The scenery was beautiful. This level alone should be reason enough to convince Mm to give us a 50 layer tool in lbp2 if they're not already. Even if the gameplay wasn't fun (it IS, of course), the scenery would be worth playing for.

Brilliant level Jump_button. This level seems to have improvements over the first and the visuals looked powerful enough to have MM keep the layer glitch in LBP2. The usage of the balloon worked well in the gameplay of this level even though I didn't have this much experience of it in the previous Sky Town level but I got the hang of it in this level. Plus I noticed that the fan has a drill object and it's decorated with a decoration to make it look like a fan... nice idea. This is a truly artistic level. Keep it up Jump_button.

And Sehven. You were right about keeping the 3D layer in LBP2 because it's getting more popular now and 2 of my recent levels "Future City Los Angeles", and "The Hero Chronicles LV1 Magical Forest" can't live without it. I think they should feature the tool in LBP2 too.

Apparently the industrial revolution has come to sky town?!? Game play-wise I prefer the original, but this one is still excellent and worth playing if just to see what you've done with the extra layers. I can't believe you made me drop my balloon to be able to proceed...I get very attached to my balloon! Brilliant work as usual.2010-05-27 19:38:00

I really like how the cityscape come out good to hear you all like it too hope to do more and better for a big open RPG like town but ICO next i did put it a little to side for this, im still testing out idea for it but I want to see if i better of waiting for LBP2 they alot of tools that would make what i want more easy and work better.

I add the no balloon area for players that was moaning about they finger hurting from holding down R1 :/ i dont see myself why it so hard

This level deserves 8 stars! It's fantastic! The 3-D layer glitch was great for visuals! Amazing gameplay, the balloons are a great idea, as the are fun and unique! The fans that blew you upward were interesting, also.
