I like a lot of music but not all of it... I guess pop might fit best because it's such a broad category. I used to listen to only classic rock but I got really bored when I realized there was never ever going to be a new song in that genre. I listen to a lot of indie stuff now but I think that's because last.fm like recommending obscure stuff over less obscure stuff.2010-05-26 03:37:00

Depends what you call drum and bass. He has rock as a category but it includes all kinds of rock, but has techno and trance [complete opposites] in the same genre and drum and bass in another.

I don't blame you though; there is a fair share of disgustingly half assed mainstream drum and bass [the kind you hear on the radio and MTV].		2010-05-26 09:32:00

I get what you mean, but usually when people like the decent underground version of bad music, they kick up a fuss in the comments section By asking to have the distinction made in the poll, if that makes sense... I was assuming that the person who clicked 'I like Drum and bass' was into the 'half assed mainstream drum and bass' that you mentioned. Rock music is so much better, though I'd have liked to have seen a blues option in the poll.2010-05-26 18:05:00

I'm not really going to say more since I know we're not really going anywhere, but when you mentioned how people like the underground version of bad music I can tell it's kind of pointless to try to reason with you. Especially if you say rock is better only because you like it [because we all know, everything you like is the only good thing out there]. I don't like rock, but I don't say I hate it and despise and want to kill anyone who dares to listen to it.

These genres are very limited; I kind of regret clicking drum and bass since I'm more of an electronic guy. I would've chose trance but frankly I can't stand techno [no offense to you techno heads]. It kind of gives all electronic music a bad name in the mainstream media :/ I mean just look at resistance1 [no offense, but I dont blame you].		2010-05-27 03:43:00

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, an I respect that. I listen to a lot of different kinds of music but frankly I'm a nub with the whole non-mainstream drum and bass thing... Tbh I wasn't even aware there was any 'different' drum and bass/electronic outside of the mainstream. I might attempt to find some to see what it's like.... Any suggestions, Vood?2010-05-27 17:51:00

Well I love the music so for that all the types of music can be my favorite if the quality will be maintained. At the same time Rock music is one of the best in my list. Actually the person who love the music and know everything in music can love everything.2010-05-29 12:11:00

Nobody can ever know everything in music... Far too many genres, and too many little bits of theory that too few people know. It would take many lifetimes to discover everything about music, and after that there would be loads of newly discovered things that you need to know.2010-05-29 13:59:00

This poll makes it so that

But it shan't matter; I chose dnb because it's one of the genres I like regardless if anyone thinks I listen to Pendulum or Deamau5 something.
